<p>On Nov 18 we had a great turnout of FReepers from the DC Chapter and beyond. It was a cool (wind chill 33 to 35 degrees), but relatively nice, evening. This was FReep #31 as FReepers have countered Code Pinkos at their weekly obscene anti-war blood dance outside Walter Reed Army Medical Center as their have for over 7 months. We had a great evening as the bus of wounded troops came back early from Fran O'Brien's, catching the leftists in disarray, as they were packing up. Also, we had a very nice visit from a police officer at the end of our night.</p>

On Nov 11 we had a huge turnout of FReepers from the DC Chapter and beyond on a cool, but relatively nice, evening. This was FReep #30 as FReepers have countered Code Pinkos at their weekly obscene anti-war blood dance outside Walter Reed Army Medical Center as their have for over 7 months. Leftists sent over a tag team to our side that included the "world's oldest community college student," but they were rebuffed. Pinko Eric "Squeegee Guy" provided us with some good laughs on his way as he left. We were pleased to have numerous veterans join us for...

It's time once again for the DC Chapter of Free Republic to gather for our annual Christmas party. This year, we're planning something a little different. Mr. & Mrs. trooprally have graciously offered to host our Christmas event at their home in Maryland on Saturday, December 10, from 3:00-7:00 p.m. They will furnish plenty of delicious food, buffet-style, including choice of turkey or ham and lots of side dishes. The sodas and mixers will be provided, but please BYOB. The modest cost for this mouth-watering spread will be $15 per person -- much less than if we were to have...

We see them every day on the back windows of SUVs, on the fuel doors of sedans--stickers and magnets that say "Support Our Troops." Sometimes they sport yellow ribbons; sometimes American flags. Often they are weathered, peeling off the metal or glass. We see them so often it's easy to tune them out. Like the inoffensive "Have a nice day," the slogan is a pleasant sentiment that skims across our consciousness and disappears into the air. On Veteran's Day, when we honor all of those who have served our country through the military, it's helpful to take a closer look...

On Nov 4 we had a huge turnout of FReepers and almost as many members of Rolling Thunder. FReepers from the DC Chapter and beyond countered Code Pinkos at their weekly obscene anti-war blood dance outside Walter Reed Army Medical Center as their have for over 7 months. Rolling Thunder ("RT") had considerable interaction with the Pinkos as many of them walked over to one of the Pinkos corners. Some of the RT members crossed back to our side. Others were still on the Pinko side when police arrived, apparently after Eric "Squeegee Guy" made a 911 call, but there...

FReepers from the DC Chapter and beyond have countered Code Pinkos at their weekly obscene anti-war blood dance outside Walter Reed Army Medical Center for over half a year. Despite a breeze that made it feel cooler than the upper 40s temperatures, FReepers were out in force again. Cindy Sheehan was on the Pinko side ever so briefly, but her usual press entourage was nowhere to be found. Karl Rove joined us for the second week in a row and President Bush made a surprise appearance, leading one of the Pinkos to confront us close-up on our side. The Veterans...

I have to apologize for getting this report out so late. It has been a busy week with Cindy She-shrew in D.C. and getting work done. We also hope to have some pictures posted a little later. Considering that we were in the heart of liberal country (Montgomery Co., MD), that Rep. Al Wynn (D-MD) gave the opening antiwar monologue, that the moderator was an antiwar liberal and we were out numbered 2 to 1, I think it went very well for the real "Support the Troops" side. Our pronounced presence keep the moderator in line and fairer than he...

Many key cultural and political issues these days are debated and at least temporarily-settled within the marble halls of the Supreme Court. Protesters advocating various points of view on a variety of topics have made the plaza in front of temple-like ediface their battleground. The nomination of Judge Alito to the Supreme Court itself is no different. Since I work in DC, within walking distance of the Supreme Court, I decided to walk there to see what was taking place on the steps in front of the building. I arrived there shortly before 4 pm, when the National Organizaton for...

D.C. Chapter STOPS the Crawford "Peace" Bus in its tracks, after it parked illegally for over an hour blocking traffic Friday night at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Rescue & fire trucks had to change lanes to avoid the hippy bus. Metro Police was called three times but failed to respond, so the DC Chapter took a "citizen's action". See the movie: PLEASE BE ADVISED MY SERVER MAY NOT BE ABLE TO ADEQUATELY HANDLE ALL THE DOWNLOADING OF THE VIDEO TRAFFIC THAT THIS POST WILL GENERATE. So if you can't get it, try again at a later time. Video of...

Outside Walter Reed on Friday Nights, Two Camps Stand Their Ground Every Friday night, Gael Murphy and Kristinn Taylor meet in Northwest Washington, separated by a bustling four-lane road -- and a whole lot more. Since spring, the two have stood firmly on opposite sides of Georgia Avenue NW in front of Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Murphy leading a coalition of war protesters, Taylor marshaling supporters of the Iraq war. Both sides say they are there to support the troops. Beyond that, there's little common ground. "They start yelling, 'Murderer!' 'Traitor!' They call me by name," said Murphy, a...

FReepers from the DC Chapter and beyond have countered Code Pinkos at their weekly obscene anti-war blood dance outside Walter Reed Army Medical Center for over half a year. Despite rain proceeding the event and a heavy mist during most of the FReep, FReepers were out in force again on Friday, Oct. 21. We had one FReeper, who traveled from Texas specifically to attend the FReep, and we had another in town from Arizona. We also were happy to have both Senator Clinton and Karl Rove join us, although BufordP roughed Rove up a bit over the Harriet Miers' nomination...

For the 28th week in a row, members of the DC Chapter of Free Republic will stand across the street from the gates of Walter Reed Army Medical Center, in Northwest Washington, DC - to show our heartfelt support for our wounded soldiers and their families, to say "Thank you" to them and the medical presonnel who are helping these brave men and women to heal their bodies, minds and spirits, and to say "How Dare You!" to the America-hating members of Code Pink, Veterans for Peace and other heartless leftists as they protest our mission in Iraq, the president,...

Members of the D.C. Chapter of Free Republic livened up Cindy Sheehan's die-in at the White House tonight. We started arriving at 6 p.m. on Pennsylvania Avenue in front of the White House. I arrived at 6:45, so others will have to fill in the early part. We had about a dozen or more scattered about in small groups engaging the anti-American leftists gathered to play extras in Cindy Sheehan's Traveling Freak Show of Treason and Tragedy.Cindy's latest publicity gambit is to stage die-ins in front of the White House to 'observe' the 2000th death of American soldiers in Iraq. She...

After seven full months of unrelenting battle with Freepers from the DC Chapter and across the country, it looks like Code PinkOs' hardest core supporters are suffering from serious "battle fatigue." What Code Pink's leaders, Gael Murphy and Medea Benjamin, first thought would be a gold mine for their group (money-wise, media-wise and morale-wise) has turned into a quicksand pit. Code Pink didn't just drag its members down into the quagmire, but they also sucked in members of the many and varied leftist groups in DC that hitched their wagons onto the blood dance at WRAMC; and now they are...

For over half a year, FReepers from the DC Chapter and beyond have countered Code Pinkos at their weekly obscene anti-war blood dance outside Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Despite the heavy concentration of liberals and leftist activists in the DC area, we've outnumbered the Pinkos at least 17 or 18 of these 26 FReeps at Walter Reed and we outnumbered them again on Friday, Oct. 14. This night featured some inspiring discussions from veterans, the first car crash in front of us, a Veterans for Peace bus repeatedly driving around the location and then getting stuck, a TV crew...

<p>WASHINGTON, DC 10/7/05— Neither rain nor dark of night nor suffocating humidity nor high winds nor slippery mud beneath their feet shall stay these FReepers from their appointed rounds. Not the umbrella of the FReeper next to you ducking under your umbrella to dump a heavy stream on your shoulders, nor your FoamCore signboards turning to mush and curling over, nor your fingers turning red and blue from the sign paint wetly streaking.</p>

<p>WASHINGTON, DC, September 30, 2005—After twenty-four Friday nights of schlepping the Mother of All Banners, scores of pro-troops signs and dozens of American flags to Georgia Avenue at Elder Street – and don't forget the icewater, soda chests, hot pizzas and lawn chairs – it gets old.</p>

This is a quick post to provide an after action report for the DC Chapter Freep of Code Pink at Walter Reed. It was a night to remember and I did not want to keep everyone waiting. There will be a full report with all pictures later on in the week.It was a normal but cooler night as everyone arrived for another evening of countering Code Pink. Down the street came the sound of a single motorcycle. The Rolling Thunder scout arrived to announce the news of more bikes to follow. The first scout went accross the street to talk...
