We had GREAT success with our "Support The Troops AND Their Mission" Weekend in D.C. - Click Below to Help Us Pay For Our Great Pro-Troops Rally: |
ALERT: With your help, we were able to STAND UP to "anti-war mom" Cindy Sheehan and her radical left-wing friends, who all came to Washington, D.C. for four days of "hate-America" rallies, speeches, concerts and marches. Our GREAT pro-troops rallies and counter-protests were covered by every major network and newspaper, and broadcast LIVE by C-SPAN all Sunday afternoon!
Here's a brief rundown of our four-day "Support The Troops AND Their Mission" Weekend:
That night, over one hundred of our people met at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center to join with the DC chapter of FreeRepublic.com in counter-protesting Code Pink's explotation of military men and women at their weakest points. The Left had half as many people show up, and they all should have been ASHAMED -- but it was GREAT that we outnumbered them, especially when several members of the military and their families came out to THANK us for supporting them!
CONGRATULATIONS to all of our people who stood for hours that night, exposing the protesters across the street for who they REALLY are -- ANTI-Troops demonstrators!
This demonstration, like other large anti-war and anti-Bush demonstrations, was organized nationally by the usual professional activists from the extremes of the Left. It deserved a national response, both from supporters of President Bush and from people who simply oppose the destructive trend of filibusters, judicial activism, reflexively contested elections and elections disregarded altogether.
We HAD TO raise our voices and speak at this crucial time to demonstrate to the nation and the world that we are still a Republic in which the political process is respected and a plurality of views can coexist without hatred.
The "Defend the White House" rally took place on Saturday at the Navy Memorial on Pennsylvania Ave. along the protesters march route. Speakers included veterans, military families, 9-11 survivors, Iraqi citizens, and other supporters of our troops AND their mission. We were also priveleged to take part in a wreath-laying ceremony at the Memorial, with dozens of World War II veterans.
Our partners at ProtestWarrior.com got a permit for a large area along the parade route to counter the main "anti-war" parade as they pass by. We had several blocks worth of patriotic pro-troops counter-protesters standing strong with huge signs declaring our support for the troops AND their mission. We withstood wave after wave of screaming protesters, with signs ranging from calling President Bush "Hitler" to 5-year-old kids flying upside-down flags. I can't tell you how many times we were yelled at, spit at, cursed at, and worse -- but we HAD to be there, to represent the voices of the "silent majority" in this country who do NOT support the "blame America first" protesters like Cindy Sheehan and MoveOn.org.
THANK YOU to all of you who came out, and were willing to stand strong in the face of the left-over hippies, the anarchists, the professional protesters, and the many deceived and misinformed people who marched past us that day. Your voice -- and the voice of mainstream America -- WAS heard that day!
Sunday brought the large event hosted by RightMarch.com, Move America Forward, FreeRepublic.com, ProtestWarrior.com, Military Families Voice of Victory, Grassfire.org, and others. This heavily-covered rally, with thousands of attendees, featured active duty service-men and -women and their families, as well as the families of those killed in action. The rally was scheduled for noon until 3:00pm on the Capitol Mall in front of the U.S. Capitol building, but we went well over until 4:30pm because of the large number of fantastic speakers.
This non-partisan rally was held to honor military families, their loved ones serving in our armed forces, and their mission fighting the war on terrorism in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere around the world. Military family members and those who support them showed up in large numbers to show the nation and the world that they stand firm in their resolve to win the war on terrorism.
Speakers included Gold Star parents like Gary Qualls, whose son died a hero's death in Iraq, and who was the first to pull up the cross that Cindy Sheehan had put in the ground with HIS son's name on it... family members of service men and women like Debra Johns, the proud mother of a U.S. Recon Marine who has already served 2 tours of duty in Iraq and will soon return for a 3rd tour... patriotic members of Congress like Rep. Steve King, Rep. Trent Franks, and Sen. Jeff Sessions, who were willing to speak out in support of our mission in Iraq... veterans like Kevin Pannell, who lost both his legs in a cowardly terrorist attack in Baghdad, and Sgt. Todd Bowers, who took shrapnel in the battle for Fallujah... 9-11 survivors like Steve Golding, who lost his cousin and 40 of his friends before his very eyes in the first battle in the War on Terror in 2001... government officials from the Coalition of the Willing, like Councillor Paul Osborn from the London burrough of Harrow... and Iraqi citizens like Nofel Al Jazairi, whose family suffered under the brutal dictatorship of Saddam Hussein... plus so many more that we don't even have room to list, as well as an appearance by the musical duo The Right Brothers, one of the greatest patriotic, conservative, "no holding back" bands in America today, to inspire us with songs that made us laugh, made us cry, and made us proud of who we are and what makes this country so great. And their final song, which the whole crowd joined in singing LOUDLY to the haggard band of anarchists and protesters across the street, was a GREAT way to end a GREAT day: it was called, "Bush Was Right!"
One special last-minute guest: halfway through the rally, President Bush flew over us in his helicopter, "Marine One"! It was AWESOME!
At the last minute, we learned that C-SPAN was going to cover the entire rally LIVE -- and they broadcast ALL of it, even when we went 90 minutes over! We had MILLIONS more watching at home, thanks to this sudden blessing! You can view their archive for a limited time here (Real Media player required):

THANK YOU to all of you who made the trip to D.C. that day -- and who contributed towards our large expenses -- to show the Left, the media, and all of America, that the majority in this country DOES support the troops AND their mission!

TAKE ACTION: Cindy Sheehan and the radical Left's "anti-war" weekend DID NOT go unchallenged! The mainstream media would have liked nothing better than to give our side - the side of the majority of Americans - little or no coverage. So we made sure our pro-troops rally was a HUGE event, so they couldn't ignore us!
Check out some of the news coverage here:

If you weren't able come that weekend, WE STILL NEED YOUR HELP! This rally -- and the events around it, including counter-protests on Friday and Saturday, and Congressional lobbying on Monday -- cost us literally TENS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS.
I've got to be very up front with you here -- we simply were NOT able to afford this, unless we knew that folks like YOU would be helping out. Our bank accounts were DRAINED during the big "summer donor slump" with our nationwide ads countering Cindy Sheehan and our trip to confront her in Crawford Texas, along with all of our national ads and activities supporting Judge John Roberts' nomination to the U.S. Supreme Court.
Please make your best contribution TODAY - this pro-America rally was put together quickly and we need every person reading this to rise up on behalf of our troops. Their cause is just - and they deserve our thanks.
If you've already given, I'm asking you to make a sacrifice, and give again if you can.
If you haven't given yet, THIS IS THE TIME. We need your help RIGHT NOW.
PLEASE, give your best donation for last weekend's event that NO ONE will be able to forget.
We think it's worth it. We think AMERICA is worth it.
What do you think?
Please click through below to make your best donation TODAY, to show these radical leftists -- and the rest of America -- that we're FED UP with their hate-filled nonsense, and that the MAJORITY of this country SUPPORTS our President and our troops:

Thanks, buddy!
Very nice - I like the pictures a lot!
But .. there wasn't 500,000 or anything close to that on the left. It was probably closer to 10,000 at best. Some guy took the photos by Reuters and blew up the picture so he could get a better count. He came up with 6747 - that's all. So .. allowing 10,000 allows for some of their group who might not have been at that particular event.
Also .. a person who was there said that during the march, she saw several people go through the line 3-4 times. That of course was to deceive people into believing their group was larger than it really was.
I saw a picture where a bunch of FR people gathered in behind the haters to block them from doing that.
They met their match what with all the patriots lining the streets! Our voices got hoarse letting them know that they are traitors.
BTTT
Is this an embellishment? I mean I read the thread and the turn out was guestimated at about 400-600. Thousands? Have we developed million man march math?
STILL! uploading pics and Video from that weekend!
Sad though really...my reflections...
a) OUR " Support The Troops " " Defend the White House " -
and all Patriotic SIGNS were hand made...THEIRS were all pre-fab and mass produced!----for kids who were very passionate about the war--you'd think you'd see MORE hand made signs??--guess when someone else makes the plans and pays for everything for you it's an easy thing to just show-up..
b) from the pics and vids you'll see 70% of the " Anti-American " " Anti-War " ..er..protesting kids were..well....KIDS!! about 17, 16, and under!
the OTHER extreme were the remaining people--OVER 60-70! A-TYPICAL " Ed-Ashners want-a-be " types...and Teachers...
c) THEY wore " banadanas " while parading around giving the finger and screaming as their faces turned purple....
WE..Supporting Our Troops and Nation had no reason to hide..Truth never does...
d) a p.s. : What DOES giving the " Bird " have to do with your free speech and presenting your case??
e) Afetr watching the SAME CROWD march around the BLOCKS for the THIRD,. FOURTH, FIFTH time it got stale...even the police were gripping on how to stop them from just walking in one big circle!...
f) speaking of the very poltie and professional DC police force--My personal thanks AND...form the pics and vids..
you will see--and not wonder--WHY were the POLICE FACING OUTSIDE??--TOWARDS the Libbies and Communists and Anarchists in bandanas?? and NOT facing IN towards us??
Well--hopefully I will finish putting the pics up here today--Freepers!! Protest Warriors!! Right March!!
We even had a CLUB GITMO gaint banner too! Rush would be proud!
Until later...finishing up!

p.s. anyone from Media Freeper land who wants copies just PM me.
Re: Counterprotest of the CANSWER march.
A slight correction. We were only on one block, albeit a very large one in front of the J Edgar Hoover building.
'Pod.
More than one embellishment.
Our side does not need to embellish. I wish these fundraising letters would cut that out.
I wish Dr. Keyes had been there and spoke to our group on Sunday. Our speakers would have gone 5 hrs instead of 4 and 1/2!!
I did meet Mr. Greene, the author of this message. What a great bunch of people we had!
There are more good links than you can shake a stick at here: http://www.supportthetroopsweekend.org/coverage.html
But especially be sure to check this out... IRAQ-SONGSWritten and Recorded by American Soldiers in Iraq another possibility for the "I Love FR" recording!
I hope to see you at the next one!
Bob, I think they are all jealous and want a 40' Motor Home like Jim's...
Here's a portion of one summary from a RightMarch e-mail BEFORE the Rally:
ALERT: What did you do yesterday?
I wrote checks.
First, I wrote a check for $7,500.00. That covers rental, delivery, set up, load out and operation of a sound system to cover at least 20,000 people at this weekend's "Support The Troops AND Their Mission" Rally.
Then I wrote a check for $427.08, to cover our portion of the fee for holding a press conference at the National Press Club last week, announcing our plans to hold this four-day pro-troops series of rallies and counter-protests against Cindy Sheehan, MoveOn.org, and their far-left cohorts coming to Washington, D.C. to "protest".
Next, I wrote a check for $5,414.93. That one was for the stage company, to erect a stage large enough to hold a band, a dozen military families, Iraq war veterans, Congressmen, UK politicians, and loudmouths like me for hours on end.
After that, I wrote a check for $1050.00, for six hours on-site coverage of an ambulance service. Yes, this is *required* by the Park Police for a rally as big as the one we're putting on for the troops.
Finally, I finished off my day by writing a check for $2033.00... for porta-potties. I never knew it cost so much for a couple dozen "johns", but I'm sure willing to pay someone else to pick them up after it's all over.
That was my day. Over sixteen THOUSAND dollars paid out, all for our "Support The Troops AND Their Mission" weekend.
$16,425.01 in just ONE DAY. We've already paid several thousand dollars for transportation, lodging, etc. And there's more bills on the way, totaling MANY thousands more dollars.
I think it's worth every penny, to show the Left, the Media, and the rest of America that the "silent majority" DOES support our brave men and women in uniform. They're willing to risk it all for us.
What are we willing to do for them?
TAKE ACTION: I'll be honest with you -- these events have drained our bank account. We don't have a "sugar daddy" like the Left does, with billionaire socialist George Soros. We need your help NOW.
I need you to make a donation right away, to help us cover these costs. Whether it's $10 or $10,000 -- PLEASE make your best contribution by clicking here:

What were MAF's expenses?
