On Friday night, April 15, DC Chapter FReepers conducted a FReep of Code Pink's anti-war protest at the gate of Walter Reed Army Medical Center, where many of the most severely wounded troops from the war in Iraq and Afghanistan are taken for continued treatment and rehabilitation. The honor roll of those in attendance: tgslTakoma, kristinn, Doctor Raoul, hellinahandcart, sauropod, Jimmy Valentine's brother, BufordP, and BillF. First, I want to thank all the FReepers who were able to attend and to all who contributed to the March for Justice II. It wouldn't have happened without you. I also want to thank our cosponsor, the Coalition for a Fair Judiciary. Our speakers were excellent and I thank them for standing with us. Most of all, thanks to Jim Robinson for all he does. The March for Justice II was a success, even though we didn't accomplish our goal for attendance. We thought 100 to 200 people would attend, in fact there were between 40 and 50--almost all of...

I just received a phone call from my mother, tgslTakoma. She's at the DC Chapter counterprotest of Code Pink at Walter Reed. tgsl says: We arrived carrying American flags and signs supporting the troops at 8 PM on the northeast corner of Walter Reed. The Code Pinkos arrived around 9 on their corner. Gail arrived and saw the FReepers on their corner, and we can only assume that she made a few phone calls. After we unfurled our MOAB (Mother Of All Banners), the Pinkos got upset and sent over 2 goons to stand in front of us, Later another...

<p>The sign that got Code Pinko leaders Medea Benjamin and Gael Murphy so upset that day.</p>
<p>Bush says Code Red, we say... (crowd) Code Pink!</p>
<p>So I wanna address that sign over there, and those people who have been standing there for hours with a sign that says “Code Pink kills American troops, giving money to terrorists.”</p>

Sorry for the short notice, but as many of you heard on Rush Limbaugh word is going around that Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid is going to have a tantrum on the steps of the Capitol this afternoon at 2:15 p.m.Supposedly, Reid will be joined by his fellow Democratic senators in his tantrum to threaten the shutdown of the Senate if the Republican majority breaks the filibuster of judicial nominees by parliamentary procedure.Reid is being quoted as promising, “If the Republicans use the nuclear option, Democrats will bring the Senate to a standstill and will only deal in matters relating...

Senator Hillary Clinton ('Rat-NY) held a sparsely attended political fundraiser at her Washington, D.C. Embassy Row mansion this evening. The dozen-or-so anti-Hillary protesters who gathered at the entrance to her street almost out-numbered those who came to pay homage to the former first lady and her political agenda. One of the protesters walked up the road at 6:45 p.m. and observed the affair from across the street. What she saw shocked her; there was hardly anyone at Hillary's fundraiser. Around one hundred name tags were laid out on a table on the driveway in front of the house under a party ...

Back in October of 2003, I offered a $100 RuthsChris Steakhouse gift certificate to the first journalist who would tell the public whether Val Plame was or was not a "Covert Agent" according to the law in question. YO' MEDIA, FREE MEAL OFFER: Is Joe Wilson's Wife a "Covert Agent" Under That Law? abner and jimfree added $100 each, bringing the bounty to $300. It went up 10/5/03 and after almost EIGHT months, I recided the offer on 5/31/04 due to lack of response, even though we had faxed the offer to numerous Washington newsrooms and bureaus. By that...

Three members of the D.C. Chapter of Free Republic braved the ice cold winds of the political gulag Friday night to make a public show of support for former Talon News White House Correspondent Jeff Gannon and the rights of reporters to do their jobs without fear of being destroyed by the political establishment.During the course of our hour-long freep outside Monica's Gate in front of where the TV networks do their standups, a hard pass holding member of the White House press corps stopped and spoke with us at length about the situation. The member of the press corps was...

This past inauguration day, the cold weather was the least of the problem. The bigger problem was the realization that America is slowly falling apart. The second inauguration attracted the worst undergrowth of American society, and they all descended on the nation's Capitol. God gave us the great gift of humanity. Why would some humans choose to devolve to the insect class? After eight hours of rubbing shoulders with the repugnant, foul protestors, I had to take two showers to purge myself of the contamination. It was like entering a well-used Port-a-Potty but never exiting. There was no fresh air...

In 2003 the D.C. Chapter of Free Republic was the recipient of an unused booth at CPAC, thanks to the resourcefulness of Taxman and the generosity of the Weekly Standard, who wasn't going to use their booth. Our first "official presence" at CPAC was such a great success that D.C. Chapter members pooled their pennies and rented our own booth in 2004. And again we had a great time talking to CPAC attendees about our capital city activism, Free Republic's national activism and signing up new D.C. Chapter members. It has been a great way to inform conservatives in our...

Former President Bill Clinton was the draw this evening for a high dollar Democratic Party fundraiser with Rep. Jane Harman ('Rat-Ca.) at the Georgetown mansion of Smith Bagley and former Ambassador Elizabeth Bagley.Three FReepers and a lurker stood across the street from the mansion to remind the hosts, attendees and passersby of the culpability of Bill Clinton for setting the conditions for the September 11 terrorist attacks on America by the favorable treatment he gave terrorists throughout his presidency.staytrue was first on the scene at 5:30 p.m.--the scheduled time for the fundraiser--and set up a small chair, a small spotlight ...

For those who don't know me or aren't familiar with my screen name (I don't post much these days preferring to lurk in the dark), I'm one of the original members of the DC Chapter. I was one of the first people in front of the White House alongside Kristinn, Angelwood and Doctor Raoul giving grief to Bill and Hill. However, I'm not here to talk about that today... Back in August, 2001, I was diagnosed with a brain tumor and a few days later had surgery. It was subsequently found to be a low grade tumor and since...

DollyCali Inauguration 2005 Thoughts n PixWednesday PMWashington Plaza HotelFReeper Social Being late is not anyone’s favorite role. But we were late. Travel companion Vicki from Oklahoma & I (from Ohio) had driven in (thru sleet & snow In ohio & across the turnpike with much of same) to arrive in DC area to see the small fall had about paralyzed the city. I was pretty fatigued as I drove into the DC area after 10 hours of awful-weather driving. My travel pal slept the whole way as she had just driven 18 hours to get to our meeting place....

Hi everyone! Several weeks ago, a few of you came out to supports our troops at the Pentagon, which was great! But since then, numbers have dwindled to, well, me. Tomorrow, I'll probably be the only "Pro-Troop" person standing outside the Pentagon, trying in my own humble way to combat the forces of idiocy and complacency. I know it's probably too late for tomorrow, but since I'll be doing this every Monday until I am no longer able, I'd like to invite any of you who live in the area to please stop by between 7am and 8am on Mondays....
