There is street parking along Georgia Avenue and nearby residential streets. Washington, D.C. is a gun-free zone, so don't park too far away from the hospital :-)

Ah... maybe because it's inappropriate to allow self-serving protest groups to try and use these people for their own agendas.

The anti-American left loves dead and wounded American soldiers. They are their favorite props.

Certainly but not exclusively - there are many groups out there who would like to photograph coffins, chase down families for emotional comments, etc. It's always a nice idea to think about their privacy first.

This Code Pink group is a real piece of work. The signs in the picture seem ok--things like "You are not alone" are the things we might say to soldiers, but meaning something different by it. They pose as people concerned for soldiers but of course they have ulterior motives. And you gotta love how they portray the refusal to permit press photos of coffins arriving at Andrews as a nefarious attempt by Bush to "cover up" and "hide" instead of as a sign of respect for the privacy of the soldiers and their families.

Agreed...one of the things about the Schiavo case that bothered me was that we couldn't see pictures of how Terri looks today. Heck, I wouldda liked to see her parents actually ask her--on camera--if she wanted to live, to see if there would be any non-verbal response in the affirmative...but that would be selfish and a violation of Terri's right to privacy. Too bad we're in the process of violating her Right to Life.

Well said, Mud, and although some would argue there is NO right to privacy or NO right to life written down anywhere (except maybe in the Declaration), one can at the very least error on the side of being respectful of both privacy and life.

Thank you Kristinn, for doing this. I saw them on some news show the other day and get so mad when no one exposes their true agenda. How many military family members do you think they're trying to recruit standing there?

The more they can foster the perception that military family members stand with THEM, the more they turn the tide of support for this war on terror.

I'm one military dependent who stands with FREEPERS!!!

Code pink is a radical leftist lesbian feminist group. Medea Benjamin was named to some feminist post by Gray Davis. She also was one of the idiots that was going to be a human shield in Iraq.
I had a run-in with her at a Schwartenegger rally just before his election. I also had a run-in with the woman that wsa arrested at the Republican convention-the one that was yelling when Bush came out on stage to accept the nomination.
Let's just say that none of those "women" are in any trouble of being harassed by a man.
