LOS ANGELES, Nov. 18 (UPI) — A viral trend involving placing cucumbers behind cats has been deemed cruel and harmful behavior by some experts.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is looking into a multi-state outbreak of Salmonella Poona after linking the outbreak to imported cucumbers. The CDC reported the outbreak has impacted 732 people from 35 states as of Tuesday. Four deaths have been attributed to the outbreak, according to the CDC. Symptoms include diarrhea, fever and abdominal cramps that can last four to seven days.
