"The Montgomery County public school system approved a curriculum yesterday in which 10th-graders will be shown how to put condoms on cucumbers, and eighth-graders will learn that homosexual couples are the newest American family.

"...The board is also considering a second video in which food-flavored condoms are discussed."

Now would be about the right time for a global nuclear war to reset everything. Just end it all.

These radical sex-ed programs last about one term, then there's a public outrage over the whole thing. Liberal policies like these always invite a backlash.

"The county school board voted 6-0 in favor of recommendations from the Citizens' Advisory Committee on Family Life and Human Development, despite opposition from parents."

Still think public schools CARE about what parents want?

"The curriculum is a revision of previous ones and will be taught this spring to eighth- and 10th-graders in six schools. It defines a family as "two or more people who are joined together by emotional feelings or who are related to one another."
Same-sex parents are listed under the heading "kinds of families," along with eight other variations. "

So, there are now 8 definitions the government has decided that make a 'family'. This move by the school board is revenge for the election results. Fine, free GOP recruiting campaigns are always welcome...2006 is just around the corner!

That's not a spelling error, or is it? This is in the mountains, right?

I homeschool my 12 year old son. Last year I gave him the first, very broad "birds and bees" talk. He looked distressed and said, "Why did you tell me that?" We talked about it and I could see he was not ready for any more information.

I feel sorry for the kids getting this forced upon them in school when they are not ready for it. Also how important it is to have someone they love and trust there to sense their feelings and/or comfort them.

They don't, for the most part... especially if it gets in the way of promoting their agendas. Our own school board has several "social activists" who feel a "powerful calling" to socially engineer our students into the pro-abortion, pro-homosexual, etc., mindset of the left. My gracious, I could tell you stories about the pro-homosexual *torrent* that's being unleashed by the school board, faculty members, etc.

You know, if a social worker heard that you were showing your kids how to put a condom on a cucumber, they'd likely take your kids away because they'd suspect you were abusing your children, yet it's just fine if they do it in a school.

why not teach kids about anal or oral sex???

how about at 10??

If we can teach these things they will less likely end up pregnant.

Man, these people...
