Sen. John Cornyn reposted content from the X account “Republicans against Trump” on Friday, sharing a post featuring his criticism of Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton as the two Republicans are in a Senate primary battle. Cornyn's repost included a message from the anti-Trump account quoting his remarks about Paxton. “I will be direct with Texas voters: Ken Paxton is unfit for this office,” the post stated. The message criticized Paxton, saying, “By every standard that matters, Crooked Ken has failed the character test. The corruption. The legal baggage. The years of self-serving distractions while Texas needed serious leadership.” The...

Republican Senator John Cornyn (TX) said he “absolutely” wants to review the House Ethics Committee’s investigation of Matt Gaetz. Matt Gaetz resigned from Congress on Wednesday evening after President Trump announced his nomination for US Attorney General.

Rob Parker, the commentator who created controversy when he questioned whether Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III is a “cornball brother” because he has a white fiancee, has been fired by ESPN. (snip) So why did Parker’s discipline change from a 30-day suspension to termination? ESPN isn’t saying, but it may be that the network was unhappy with a recent interview Parker gave in which he said that ESPN knew what he was going to say on the air before he said it. In that interview, Parker also seemed to backtrack on his previous apology, complaining that people took his “cornball...

Robert Griffin III is arguably the most popular man in Washington right now. The Redskins’ spectacular rookie quarterback has been winning games, fans, and headlines due to his play this season. Today, he was on the front page of the Washington Post for the third time in a week and a half. Under increasing media scrutiny, Griffin has been clear he does not want to be defined by his race. In a news conference yesterday cited in USA Today, Griffin, an African-American, said, “For me, you don’t ever want to be defined by the color of your skin. You want...
  • ESPN COMMENTATOR: RGIII A 'CORNBALL BROTHER' DUE TO POSSIBLE REPUBLICANISM

ESPN’s Rob Parker dropped a bombshell today when he called NFL rookie star and MVP candidate Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III a “cornball brother.” That means, according to Parker, that RGIII isn’t a real black person, and that he might not be “one of us” or “down for the cause.” What was his justification? RGIII is engaged to a white woman, and could be a Republican. Seriously. ( video at link )
  • Rove Scandal: Finally, a Real Distraction (sort of barf alert, but begruding admiration from Corn)

July 20, 2005 Rove Scandal: Finally, a Real Distraction Is Karl Rove in so much trouble that the White House really did believe it was necessary to rush out the nomination of John Roberts to the Supreme Court? Bloomberg News did report that the White House accelerated its schedule on the Roberts nomination to draw attention to another news story. At least, the Bush gang in this case relied on something real--a Supreme Court nomination--to distract and not the usual mis- or disinformation. (See postings below.) This will likely work for several days--longer if the Democrats and the progressive groups...
