Donald Trump’s campaign is getting some dough-lightful news out of Ohio. A beloved Cincinnati bakery, whose “cookie poll” has accurately predicted every election outcome but one since 1984, has the former president and Republican nominee leading Democrat Kamala Harris in its unscientific survey. Trump notched about 54% support (2,953 cookies) to Harris’ 39% (2,134 cookies), with an “independent” smiley-face cookie scoring 7% (397 cookies), per the latest tally shared with The Post by Busken Bakery. The cookie poll will remain open until Election Day on Nov. 5, so the tallies reflect the result of “early voting” by those with a...

The White House on Monday seized on Cookie Monster’s post complaining about “shrinkflation.” “C is for consumers getting ripped off,” the official White House account on X, formerly known as Twitter, posted in response to an earlier post by the “Sesame Street” character. “President Biden is calling on companies to put a stop to shrinkflation. On Monday, Cookie Monster’s account on X posted that “shrinkflation” was getting him down. “Me hate shrinkflation! Me cookies are getting smaller,” he wrote, with a sad emoji. “Shrinkflation” refers to companies making their products smaller while keeping the same price.

(Last Updated On: May 12, 2023) NATIONAL CHOCOLATE CHIP DAY On May 15th, we recognize a morsel of a thing on National Chocolate Chip Day! #ChocolateChipDay Have you ever wondered how a single ingredient would change a recipe? If it weren’t for one curious baker, it would be hard to imagine where we would be without the invention of chocolate chips. In 1937, Ruth Graves Wakefield of Whitman Massachusetts must have been curious about what a little bit of chocolate would add to her cookies. While working at the Toll House Inn, she added cut-up chunks of a semi-sweet Nestle...

NATIONAL PFEFFERNUSSE DAY December 23rd is reserved for National Pfeffernuse Day, a German spice cookie. Very popular around the holidays, pfeffernüsse are fluffy cookies made with ground nuts and spices and covered in powdered sugar. #NationalPfeffernusseDay The exact origin of the cookie is unknown. However, the Dutch believe that pfeffernüsse (or pepernoten in Dutch) are linked to the feast of Sinterklaas, which is celebrated on December 5 in the Netherlands and December 6 in Germany and Belgium. This holiday is when children receive gifts from St. Nicholas, who is partially the inspiration for the Santa Claus tradition. Over time, many...

Kamala Harris shattered the glass ceiling by being elected vice president. No, not for being a Jamaican-American or Womyn-American. It's by being a Cringe-American. She is constantly breaking new frontiers being the cringiest human being ever to hold elected office. Everything from her hip-hop pandering to her woke nonsense to every time she gets an awkward case of the gigs. But this truly takes the cake. Or actually, the cookie. Kamala Harris, the vice president of the United States, had cookies made up of her head. Her faceless head. That she handed out to reporters while they were stuck on...

There may be a shortage of cookies on the shelves this holiday season, one of the biggest commercial producers of confections is warning. Campbell’s Soup Company, which makes cookies under the Pepperidge Farms brand, warned that it is facing a shortage ahead of its busiest season - including of popular varieties like Milano and Chessman. In an earnings call with investors, Campbell’s CEO Mark Clouse blamed the shortage on an increase in demand and a labor shortage, both of which are results of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. According to a report compiled by Top Data, American cookie consumption has increased...

The holidays are upon us and for many that means family time in the kitchen preparing delicious baked goods and maybe even licking the spoon before the cookies go into the oven. So the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) put out a warning this week to, “Say No To Raw Dough!” Dr. Todd Ellerin -- who admits he doesn’t bake -- said it’s the raw flour and uncooked eggs that can make us sick. Ellerin warned that “complications of this type of E. coli can include bloody diarrhea, need for prolonged hospitalization, and kidney failure, breakdown of red...

The owner of a Dallas restaurant where Donald Trump Jr. had a photo taken of him and Sen. Ted Cruz holding a cake bearing a cartoonish image of Barack Obama has apologized to customers in the face of a threatened boycott. “Both Donald Trump Jr. and Ted Cruz were attending a birthday celebration of one of our regular patrons who rented out our venue for a private event,” Stephan Courseau, owner of Le Bilboquet restaurant, wrote on Facebook, adding that he felt “betrayed and sad.” “The party was not for either one of them nor was it any kind of...

Pepperidge Farm is suing Trader Joe's for infringing on the trademark of its popular Milano cookie. According to a complaint filed on Wednesday in New Haven, Connecticut federal court, the grocery chain's version of a sandwich cookie, called Trader Joe's Crispy Cookies, look too similar to the Milano cookie and the products' sale is "damaging its goodwill and confusing shoppers," reports Reuters. Milano cookies, which were first introduced to the market in 1956, are crispy oval-shaped vanilla cookies with a chocolate crème filling. Over the years, variations have been introduced, including mint chocolate, orange chocolate and even pumpkin spice. The...

Yesterday I had what is seemingly becoming a perennial 1-day December flu (as it has been the third time in the last four years I've had it at this exact time). I was able to get one post off, and then spent the rest of the day bed-ridden because any movement whatsoever made things much worse.I don't know why this happened. I did have a Christmas Holiday (Marxmas?) cookie the night before (below), but that couldn't be the problem. I mean a cookie can't make you violently ill...Right?Well, I'm feeling almost 100% today, so back to work I go!

anuary 18, 2012 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Cathy Ruse’s article yesterday urging pro-life and pro-family advocates not to buy Girl Scouts of America (GSA) cookies, both because of the organization’s ties to Planned Parenthood and an overall “progressive” agenda, has ignited quite the debate. Not only is the article LifeSiteNews’ most read article of the week, it has also drawn an enormous amount of commentary, both supportive and critical. Lots of readers agree that GSA’s ties to Planned Parenthood disqualify its cookie initiative from receiving support, while others argue it’s unfair to tar the whole organization with the actions of some GSA...
