Facebook has always been the most accessible tool available to the average person for means of freedom of speech. Turns out terror organizations like Hamas are very aware of that, and largely use it to their advantage. Being a huge fan of freedom of speech, Facebook has made its terms of usage very, shall we say, flexible. For that reason, five families, Israeli and American, all of whom lost a family member in the recent murderous wave of terror, are suing Facebook for $1 billion. The lawsuit was brought under the 1992 Anti-Terrorism Act that prohibits American businesses from providing...

New Haven - Residents of New Haven asked the town board what it will do to close a sex club there, and the board members said they were working to do so, but no action has been taken. The board had on its agenda a discussion with Michael Bennin of the Wetspot and his attorney, but neither the attorney nor Bennin showed up at the meeting Thursday night. The Wetspot opened in the fall and is described as a private club for those who enjoy the "swinging lifestyle" the exchange of sexual partners. Not having representatives of the club...

RICHMOND — Lawmakers in Virginia will consider legislation that would require all public libraries to install filters on computers that would screen out sexually explicit Web sites. "Protecting children from online predators must be a priority," said Delegate Samuel A. Nixon Jr., Chesterfield Republican, who authored the bill. "It's a sad fact that child exploitation is one of the fastest-growing threats. ... Something needs to be done." Mr. Nixon said Internet filters are inexpensive, easy to use, and do not violate constitutional rights. The bill is part of the Family Foundation's legislative agenda for this year's session, which begins tomorrow....

LOS ANGELES -- LURID talk with guests and callers about sex acts. Scatological references complete with occasional sound effects. Derisive jokes about homosexuals. Is it Howard Stern on late-night cable? No, this is Spanish-language radio in Los Angeles, "in flagrante" and in broad daylight. While the nation's guardians of public decency have been focusing attention on the exposed breast of Janet Jackson, Latino DJs have been carrying on with raunchy talk-radio shows that sometimes out-shock Stern. But unlike the public fuss made over Stern and the Jackson incident during the Super Bowl, daytime indecency on Spanish-language radio has developed mostly...

One man's concern grew into a class action, Jan. 13, as more than 75 Marple residents gathered at St. Pius X Church to air their concerns regarding the collection of sexual instruction manuals in the Marple Public Library (MPL). The meeting served as an information session and Q&A forum. Speakers outlined the basic issue and possible courses of action to remove from the shelves what some consider to be pornographic materials, followed by an opportunity to clarify remaining points. The books in question were discovered last month by Glen Mills resident Jack Whoriskey, a frequent MPL patron. Asked by his...

SEATTLE -- There was a no-no at Safeco Field this weekend and it had nothing to do with New York pitcher Ted Lilly's near feat. This one was a scolding. Seattle Mariners fans who tried to wear "Yankees Suck" T-shirts during a three-game weekend series against New York were told to turn their shirts inside out, take them off or leave. "We may lead the league in ejections from the ballpark, but not because fans are misbehaving more here but because we don't tolerate much," said team spokeswoman Rebecca Hale. "This is about appropriate behavior. We have a code of...
