The U.S. Mint confirmed that a controversial coin using a description that referred to Jan. 6 freedom fighters as “insurrectionists” has been officially taken out of circulation after it was exposed by the popular social-media account Libs of TikTok on Tuesday. The commemorative coin had been authorized and first posted on the Mint’s website during the Biden administration, citing a law passed by the Democrat-controlled Congress in August 2021. It was not immediately clear how long the coin had been available, how many were struck or at what cost to U.S. taxpayers. Headline USA reached out to the Mint for...

Beginning Wednesday, you’ll be able to put Johnny Cash on all your mail. A “forever” stamp honoring the country music legend will go on sale, coinciding with the end of a yearlong celebration of the Man in Black’s life and career. A free public concert in Nashville by family and friends of the singer also will honor his six-decade career. The 46-cent stamp will feature a 1963 image of Cash shot by Frank Bez during the photo session for the album “Ring of Fire: The Best of Johnny Cash.” Cash’s son, John Carter Cash, said the stamp is unusual, and...

Northern Territory Chief Minister Paul Henderson says a commemorative plaque to be placed in Darwin Harbour acknowledges the ongoing military ties between Australia and the United States. The plaque will be lowered to the seabed near the wreck of the USS Peary. It is in memory of more than 90 US servicemen killed on the ship during the first wave of Japanese bombing of Darwin on February 19, 1942. Mr Henderson says, 70 years on, links between the Top End and the US remain strong. "The plaque is a commemoration and a testament to the enduring friendship between the people...

Special Revolver Commemorates Landmark Heller Decision Sometimes things work out, and in this case, it's a home run! Three weeks ago on my Gun Talk Radio Show, I offered the idea of a presentation gun to be given to the six original plaintiffs in what started off as the "Parker" case, and then became the Heller case. That's the case where the U. S. Supreme Court ruled on July 26 that the Second Amendment is, in fact, an individual right, and the court threw out the total handgun ban in Washington, DC. I'd love to say it was my idea,...

Our Iron Lady by R. Emmett Tyrrell Jr.Posted Dec 14, 2006It was at Jeane Kirkpatrick's funeral this week that I finally heard of some good achieved by the United Nations amidst all its dithering and graft. According to Jeane's pastor, during her momentous tenure as our U.N. ambassador, Jeane was so wobbled by the international body's cynicism and moral emptiness that she forsook years of atheism and became a person of faith. Mind you, she had always had an abundance of secular faith before President Ronald Reagan tapped her for the United Nations. Her faith in the American way of...

Yesterday, the New York Daily News wrote: The hucksters who two years ago tried to peddle the fraudulent Freedom Tower Silver Dollar are back with an even more offensive scheme for trading on the memory of 9/11 for money. They go by the name of the National Collector's Mint of Port Chester, N.Y., and they're marketing a monstrosity called the 2001-2006 World Trade Center Commemorative over the Web and on late-night cable TV. You've got to see it to believe it. SEE IT AND READ THE REST
