Beginning Wednesday, youll be able to put Johnny Cash on all your mail.
A forever stamp honoring the country music legend will go on sale, coinciding with the end of a yearlong celebration of the Man in Blacks life and career. A free public concert in Nashville by family and friends of the singer also will honor his six-decade career.
The 46-cent stamp will feature a 1963 image of Cash shot by Frank Bez during the photo session for the album Ring of Fire: The Best of Johnny Cash.
Cashs son, John Carter Cash, said the stamp is unusual, and therefore appropriate for his father's legacy.

That’s terrific. Johnny Cash is the best.
It’s always worth listening to Ring of Fire.
Or Hurt:
Or When the Man Comes Around:
He was an interesting character and a great singer. In his later years he became religious.
I remember reading an interesting article by him many years ago. It was about his Mannlicher Schoenauer rifle he bought when he was in the Air Force in Germany. I have no idea how to spell that rifle btw. They were actually not very expensive back then.
Like many talented people he had his personal demons but seemed to eventually overcome them.
Absolutely agree...Was a big fan of his from the time he started and he had many GREAT songs.
My favorite Johnny Cash song was “Life’s Railway to Heaven”. Not very well known but a really good one. That may not be the exact title btw.
Nice.
That is an awesome stamp. I am going to load up on them and use them for the next year.
I don’t know the correct spelling either but it looks right. They were a real piece of work for the price, my FIL had one that he hardly shot, it was beautiful.
Hiya, bhf. Was happy to see this, the USPS finally did something right.
Yeah. I like his music. Glad to see him getting the recognition.
That, and the answer to it: Tell them that God’s gonna cut you down:

I have never heard that one before but it is pure Johnny Cash.
I remember the Summer of 1969. I was working at a Summer retreat in Western N.C. Just about any time one turned on the radio, “A Boy Named Sue”, was playing.
Thanks, those are all good ones.
I’m waiting for the Eddie Money and Johnny Dollar stamps.
I told the wife to pick some of these up for me tomorrow. Still a Johnny Cash fan.
If you like that song, then you’re going to LOVE this video.

That’s Johnny singing with the Carter girls and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band backing him up (along with a few other stars).
My absolutely favourite version.
Johnny Cash (And June) get the opening scene from Defiance on the SyFy channel. Crappy quality video but cool anyway.

That is a good version. Earl sure can pick that banjo.
A great rendition, thanks!
