They made chop suey of the health regulations. Just hours after being busted for washing down kitchen equipment in a local lake, a Chinese restaurant was open for business. Employees of No. 1 Chinese Restaurant in suburban Nashville, Tenn., were caught washing everything from pots and rags to grill tops at a boat dock at nearby Old Hickory Lake — a popular recreation spot — NewsChannel5 reported. A series of videos showing the restaurant’s organic approach to food safety was shared first on Facebook and then with the health department, which quickly sent an inspector to the scene Tuesday.

Mexico has granted permanent asylum in its embassy here to a man suspected of planting a bomb that exploded in a Chinese restaurant in August, slightly wounding six United States soldiers and a Honduran civilian. Charging that the Mexicans are harboring a ''terrorist'' in violation of all international conventions, the United States has lodged a ''firm'' behind-the-scenes protest with the Mexican Government in Mexico City, diplomats in Mexico said. But the Mexican Government has dismissed the American protest. Mexican diplomats called the man, Alfonso Guerrero Ulloa, 22 years old, a ''freedom fighter'' whose life was at risk because of his...

There is a form of derangement to which professors at highly competitive elite institutions are vulnerable. Jonathan Gruber of MIT (Economics PhD, Harvard) is much in the public eye right now, but Ben Edelman of Harvard Business School (Economics PhD, Harvard, along with a Harvard Law School diploma and a masters in statistics) is beginning to join him in the ranks of infamously arrogant. Hillary Sargent of Boston Magazine gained access to an email exchange between Professor Edelman and a Chinese restaurant, which he believes overcharged him, based on the prices in their menu that was part of their...
