Cedar Point and its sister parks might have to give out partial refunds for the COVID-19-shortened 2020 season if attorneys win a class action lawsuit against its parent company. A pandemic-related lawsuit against Cedar Fair will be allowed to move forward, according to a US District Court Judge in Ohio who refused to throw out the case this week. The Toledo suit argues that people who bought season passes to Cedar Fair theme parks in 2020 should have been given the option to get at least some of their money back. The class-action suit, filed on behalf of a California...

“Are you tired of living in a dictatorship yet?” Republican state Rep. Nino Vitale wrote in a post on Facebook Tuesday after Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine, a Republican, announced the mask mandate. “This is what happens when people go crazy and get tested. STOP GETTING TESTED! It is giving the government an excuse to claim something is happening that is not happening at the magnitude they say it is happening.” Vitale called into question why the new order wouldn’t go into effect until Wednesday evening, saying “if this is such an urgent matter, why wait almost 30 hours? They make...

When the two-minute, 40-second flight is done, riders will have traveled 4,164 feet, at speeds of up to 67 mph and flipped over six times. It's the longest, fastest winged coaster in the world, with the most inversions and biggest drop. Early fliers were thrilled with the perspective. “It's an experience like a bird,” said Susan Shick, of Fairview Park, a Cleveland school teacher and secretary of the American Coaster Enthusiasts. “I just love it.” Engineers from Swiss firm Bolliger & Mabillard modeled some of the $30 million coaster's key features after stunt-pilot moves, including an Immelmann roll – an...

Jacob admitted that he has not ironed out details of his proposed immigration FastPass, styled after the pass used at Disneyland. Park visitors can go to a ride, obtain a FastPass, and then return during a specific time and go to the front of the line. Cannon pressed him on which illegal aliens would qualify for a FastPass. Jacob said it would not be for everyone, only those who had been in America for 10 to 20 years. If they've actually been here that long, show us the five Social Security numbers you've used, get an affidavit from your wife...

The most talked-about addition at Cedar Point amusement park in Ohio isn't the supersized swing that catapults thrill seekers 125 feet into the air. It's the drop in prices — from a $5 cut in admission for adults, to cotton candy that now sells for a quarter. Just about every food item is cheaper or the same price as last year. Cedar Point hopes the moves will increase attendance after a down year in 2005. Knott's Berry Farm, owned by the same company, has made similar price reductions at the theme park near Los Angeles after a disappointing year. Six...
