In Minnesota, 50% of students cannot read at grade level. If we were to apply the traditional academic grading scale to that outcome, the public education system in the state would get a solid F.. That abysmal performance was the topic of much debate during this term of the Minnesota legislature, prompting the Democrat trifecta to pass “the READ Act,” an effort to replace the failed “whole language” method of literacy training with traditional phonics education. “Whole language” is an absolute joke, recognized even by many on the Left as a toxic methodology that fails students. In essence, “whole language”...

"When checking the news I do have to visit the dark side occasionally to see what evil is lurking in the hearts of what passes for men there. I just ran across this: Drat Smudge’s headline spin on the article he linked to (top picture story, by the way, above site name): ELECTION DENIER ‘WINS’ ELECTION And a picture of Kari Lake. Notice win is in single quotes, and denier is not in any quotes. ACTUAL HEADLINE on typical left wing site he links to: Kari Lake Cried Foul at Election Results. Then She Started Winning Lost on the left...

In his Saturday remarks during his campaign train ride, President-elect Barack Obama issued some soaring rhetoric about the state of the country today. At least the Old Media thought it was soaring rhetoric, anyway. Typically, the media was overawed by his mellifluous tones, of course. But during these remarks in Baltimore Obama made a startling suggestion. He said we need a "new Declaration of Independence." Apparently the original one isn't good enough for the new president, but it also seems a silly rhetorical flourish. After all, what is it that we are declaring independence from this time? Recall that the...

A lecturer at Britain's Leeds University has been suspended for allegedly saying white people are intellectually superior. Frank Ellis, who teaches Russian studies, will also face disciplinary proceedings, reports the Guardian newspaper. Ellis reportedly told the Leeds student newspaper he supported the theory of Richard J. Herrnstein and Charles Murray in their 1994 book "The Bell Curve" that white people are more intelligent than black people. He also said that women did not have the same intellectual capacity as men, the report said. A university official said the disciplinary proceedings could take months to complete and that Ellis would remain...
