Two months ago in January, comedian Adam Carolla predicted that the rebuilding process after the California wildfires would be a nightmare because of the progressive policies in the state. He said it would be near to impossible to get a building permit. It has now been 75 days since the fires. How many building permits have been issued for Pacific Palisades? FOUR. Not 400, not 40. FOUR. It looks like Adam Carolla pretty much called this one, doesn’t it? ABC 7 in Los Angeles reports: Low number of permits issued for rebuilding homes after Palisades Fire is ‘concerning’: Councilwoman More...

For an idea of how well liberals are taking Trump’s success, let’s have a look in the classroom: A teacher at an all-boys Catholic high school on Staten Island resigned after going on an anti-President Trump tirade during class that descended into calling one of his students a “punk a–” during an unhinged outburst, according to a recently leaked video clip. The unnamed teacher at Monsignor Farrell High School was recorded last Wednesday by a student while speaking vehemently against Trump — criticizing the president’s order to release billions of gallons of water in California to fight the Los Angeles...

California Gov. Gavin Newsom was served recall papers this week as outrage persisted over his handling of the devastating Los Angeles wildfires. The group Saving California, led by California resident Randy Economy, delivered the petition co-signed by 105 people, exceeding the 50 signatures required to initiate recall efforts against Newsom. The governor must recognize the petition by Feb. 7, after which California's secretary of state must recognize the measure. To qualify for the November ballot, organizers will need to gather between 1.2 million and 1.3 million signatures over 160 days. “Under the reign of Governor Newsom, living in California has...

With California firefighters strapped for resources, residents have organized to put out flames themselves in a large swath of land burning south of San Francisco, defending their homes despite orders to evacuate and pleas by officials to get out of danger. They are going in despite California’s firefighting agency repeatedly warning people that it’s not safe and actually illegal to go into evacuated areas, and they can hinder official efforts to stop the flames. The former head of the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection said the effort near a cluster of wildfires around the city of Santa Cruz...

The Woolsey fire that has engulfed over 90,000 acres in California last weekend may have spread toxic and radioactive substances from a Superfund site. Activists, who believe authorities might be downplaying the risks of the toxins released into the air, say the burning of the nuclear waste site could further complicate health concerns. According to RT, the Woolsey fire ripped right through the Santa Susana Field Lab (SSFL), a federal Superfund site in the Simi Hills that was the site of the worst nuclear meltdown in United States history in 1959. While the SSFL has been the site of multiple...
