Once again you have perverted things deliberately to avoid reality. The founders read Vattel. They relied on Vattel. They communicated about Natural Born Citizen in 1787 about something you said they could not know from Vattel

Simply put, you’re mistaken because you have entwined yourself in legal decisions after 1790. The understanding of what was meant must be examined by what the writers and signers of the Constitution. The founding fathers read and spoke French. They didn’t need Vattel’s work translated, they understood what it meant at the time. I’ve already established that the Framers had copies and read it. Vattel could have been long dead didn’t mean his thoughts and writings were not adopted. Since the Term Natural Born Citizen, as you freely admit, was not part of English Law, then the discussion between John Jay and Washington means they completely devised it, or it was understood between them from another source. There is absolutely no evidence (to my knowledge) that either had a discussion about creating this term. Ergo, they adopted it from somewhere, and it was used by an author they both read-Vattel. They agreed that no foreigner could be commander of the army. That means no one with any question of birth (no dual citizens). This was put in to prevent anyone from being or serving a monarch (subject or royalty) from ever being POTUS by having potentially dual claims. You can’t be born a British Subject a become POTUS, unless you were born before 1790.

Consider all your references, how they refer to information after 1790, and certainly after 1787, in the context of a people that never risked everything not to be ‘Subjects’ or property of the crown. Those legal opinions appear to be from people who never experienced the threat those that wrote the Constitution did, and never felt the lash or the hangman’s rope waiting for them. Washington, Madison, Jefferson, Jay, the signers of the Declaration of Independence, Constitution understood another reality.

The Swiss Vattel, who died before the Declaration of Independence, never wropte a word about the United States or its Constitution, nor did he ever use the term nnatural born citizen.
