The hurricane that hit New Orleans and Mississippi and Alabama wasan astonishing tragedy. The suffering and loss of life and peace of mind ofthe residents of those areas is acutely horrifying. 2.) George Bush did not cause the hurricane. Hurricanes have beenhappening for eons. George Bush did not create them or unleash this one. 3.) George Bush did not make this one...

THE TRUTH ABOUT NEW ORLEANS An Unnatural Disaster: A Hurricane Exposes the Man-Made Disaster of the Welfare State by Robert Tracinski Sep 02, 2005 by Robert Tracinski It has taken four long days for state and federal officials to figure out how to deal with the disaster in New Orleans. I can't blame them, because it has also taken me four long days to figure out what is going on there. The reason is that the events there make no sense if you think that we are confronting a natural disaster. If this is just a natural disaster, the response...

Relief Comes in Many Ways - Patience is the Key Normally, I would be sitting down to write about the newest information in Fibromyalgia treatment, or perhaps the most current article I need to share, or posting uplifting messages to our troops. But tonight, I have a different message to send. In the wake of the devastation left by Hurricane Katrina - shock, dismay and numbness has settled in among the victims and rescuers alike. I have heard reports that two New Orleans police officers have commited suicide, and others have simply walked off the job - overwhelmed by the...

Sometimes, the life of a Fibromite becomes very complicated. Whether it's the drugs, the symptoms, the mental incapacity, or maybe just trying to live your life as normally as possible - things get in the way. Things that I love so dearly - like writing and gardening, had all but come to a halt in my world over the past few weeks. The heat? Kids out of school? Who knows - but I was absolutely off-kilter. I was beginning to believe the people around me who kept saying - 'you have to get off those drugs. What are you doing...

In listening to a committee hearing on Social Security reform taped on Tuesday and replayed tonight on C-Span 2 , a question was submitting regarding raising the age of retirement. In addition to this, the suggestion of increasing or decreasing disability benefits was discussed, and it led to an interesting point. How many Americans realize the truth in Demographics regarding the longevity of life verse the Richer and the Poorer in this Nation? Has anyone stopped to think about the life quality of the poor and how pushing them to work to a suggested age of 72 is going to...

Tuesday, May 17, 2005 Title? I don't have a clue what to call this.... As I sit here tonight, once again unable to sleep for actually the first time in a while - a million thoughts are rushing through my mind. Tomorrow, at 9:00 a.m. Eastern Time,(ughhhhh...it's tomorrow already...) the Home I knew and loved will be sold at auction. No more appeals. Nothing I can do. The end of the rope has finally come and the knot has slipped out. A few days ago, I wrote about the way I was feeling and how I knew God would get...

Statement Of U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell On The Crisis In The Sixth Circuit Court Of Appeals from the Office of Senator Mitch McConnell Thursday, May 12, 2005 WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell delivered the following statement today on the Senate floor: “Mr. President, for the last four years I have taken to the floor to decry the crushing burden under which the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals operates. “The years change, but one seemingly immutable fact remains: the Sixth Circuit remains the slowest judicial circuit in the country by far. “The Sixth Circuit has 16 seats. It covers...

CALL BETWEEN 2 AND 3 PM ON TUESDAY, APRIL 26TH, 2005 The Louisville Peace Action Committee has purchased an anti-War, anti-American, anti-Military scrolling sign to display biased, un-verified, made up negative facts and numbers about our Military’s honorable War on Terror. Ear X-Tacy is supporting L-PAC, who opposed the military by boycotting the Air Show at Thunder, opposes the military at all of their anti-War rallies, and advocates troop desertion and draft dodging on their website. 502-452-1799 Ear X-Tacy 1534 Bardstown Rd Louisville, KY...

The most important vote in decades is expected in the U.S. Senate this week. A vote to restore the Constitutional standard of a simple majority to approve a judicial nominee is expected. Liberals want to control the appointment of all federal judges by using a filibuster, making sure only nominees they approve will get a vote by the Senate. They, of course, will only allow liberal activist judges to be voted on. Please call your two Senators today and tell them to vote for the Constitutional standard of a simple majority vote. Liberals are bombarding your Senators with phone calls....

Wednesday, April 13, 2005 Fog... At 6:30 a.m., on a cool Spring morning, I set out to take my youngest child to school. I say child as though he is still in fourth grade - but the truth is - more a young man, at the tender age of sixteen - now worrying about his driver's license and of course, a girl. I get him safely to school - after maneuvering through the foggy back roads of our home county - luckily I know every bump in the road, and the car sort of steers itself. He is busily talking...

With all of the media venues finally calling attention to Terri Schindler Schiavo and her fight to stay alive - I could not help but reflect on all of the articles, affadavits, and medical reports I have read. It is very important to review everything in sequence and cumulatively, so that a proper picture can be painted. Something, by the way, the Honorable Judge Greer has refused to do - you would think after all these years, he would at least need to refresh his memory before condeming a woman to death. But...Nonetheless... My reflections have led me to a...

In light of the many jokes we send to one another for a laugh, this is a little different: This is not intended to be a joke, it's not funny, it's intended to get you thinking. Billy Graham's daughter was interviewed on the Early Show and Jane Clayson asked her "How could God let something like this happen?" (regarding the attacks on Sept. 11). Anne Graham gave an extremely profound and insightful response. She said "I believe God is deeply saddened by this, just as we are, but for years we've been telling God to get out of our schools,...

Voters - We're in more trouble than I imagined! While looking at a house, my brother asked the real estate agent which direction was north because, he explained, he didn't want the sun waking him up every morning. She asked, "Does the sun rise in the North?" When my brother explained that the sun rises in the east, (and has for some time), she shook her head and said, "Oh, I don't keep up with that stuff." . . . . . She votes! I used to work in technical support for a 24x7 call center. One day I got...

Wednesday, March 23, 2005 Filibuster in Fight in D.C. Please forward this message to your family and friends! The Filibuster Fight. What’s It All About? There is a fight going on in the U.S. Senate. While on the surface it is about who will control the confirmation of federal judges, it is in reality about far more than that. In fact, it is about the future of America.
