Such People Actually ExistI don’t have a bucket list. Unlike other, perhaps more normal people, I don’t long to see Paris, the Pyramids, or the Great Wall of China before I die. The way it works for me is that if I’ve seen it in a movie, I know I’ll be disappointed by the reality. That’s because in real life, the scene won’t be improved by a musical background provided by George Gershwin or Elmer Bernstein, and I won’t be strolling hand in hand with Audrey Hepburn or dancing with Ginger Rogers or even strolling and dancing with my late...

15 Best Places to Visit in Sudan There’s no question about it: Sudan is no safe place for travelers these days...Today the country ranks second on the fragile states index, and most all foreign offices recommend against all travel there. Perhaps one day that will all be over though. Perhaps one day we can once again look forward to donning the desert gear and delving into the shifting sands of ancient Kush and Nubia. Perhaps one day the burgeoning Red Sea dive scene in the west can reveal the sparkling corals and ocean treasures, and the Twirling Dervishes of Khartoum...

Most people have a Wish List. Some may call it a Bucket List, but they are not necessarily the same. A Bucket List usually refers to things we want to do or places we want to see before we die. A Wish List typically itemizes stuff we want to accumulate while we are still kicking. Sometimes the Bucket and the Wish cross paths. That happens when the person compiling the two is unclear on the concept of Wish and Bucket. If you are an enthusiastic shopper with sufficient funds, it is possible you support the “see something, buy it” mindset....

In the last few years the phrase “Bucket List†has come into the American lexicon. A bucket list is a list of things to accomplish before you die. There is some sort of TV show related to this that I have never seen, but from the few snips I have seen, it is mostly about frivolous, even unpleasant stuff. But for the Christian the Scriptures announce a number of things that we well ought to have either done or have up and running long before we die. Our goal is to die in an act of loving God, to die in...

Skydive. Buy a Porsche. Finally learn the guitar. Have a farm. Be self employed. See the Pyramids.
