Argentina's Supreme Court has found dozens of boxes filled with Nazi material among its archives in its basement. The 83 boxes hold documents including postcards, photographs and notebooks, as well as propaganda material, the court said on Sunday. Court employees discovered the material by chance while preparing for the creation of a museum. "Upon opening one of the boxes, we identified material intended to consolidate and propagate Adolf Hitler's ideology in Argentina during the Second World War," the court said. The court has invited Argentina's Holocaust Museum to help document and preserve the materials. Experts will also examine them for...

On Tuesday, CNN host Chris Wallace said on ABC’s “The View” that former President Donald Trump is “sticking to the basement” like then-presidential candidate Joe Biden did in 2020. Co-host Sara Haines asked, “Your dad, the late, great Mike Wallace, was an incredible investigative journalist and one of the original correspondents on 60 Minutes. What did you think of the former president refusing to do a 60 Minutes interview, which has been a tradition for more than half a century?” Wallace said, “You know, I don’t have a firm answer in terms of but I have a gut feeling. And...

If you are a Trump-hating Democrat, you are probably having trouble separating your nightmares from reality. After all, the Republicans just had a wildly successful convention while your party is forming circular firing squads. Worst of all, Joe Biden has picked a terrible time to throw a hissy fit, making it impossible to know who will be your party’s presidential nominee. Consider two reports circulating Friday: One says Biden is “in it to win it” and sees a path to victory, the other insists he and his family are discussing his imminent withdrawal. At this point, it’s not clear which...

President Biden doesn't believe his bad poll numbers, and neither do many of his closest advisers, according to people familiar with the matter. Why it matters: The dismissiveness of the poor polling is sincere, not public spin, according to Democrats who have spoken privately with the president and his team. That bedrock belief has informed Biden's largely steady-as-she-goes campaign — even as many Democrats outside the White House are agitating for the campaign to change direction, given that Biden is polling well behind where he was four years ago. The public polling simply doesn't reflect the president's support, they say....

President Joe Biden admitted he campaigned from his basement in 2020 during an interview with Special Counsel Robert Hur, according to a transcript of his interview. He said during the interview: The pandemic had started to kick in, and so, I knew, if you notice, a — and I don’t blame them. They, they — the quick criticism of me, “Biden should go back in his tunnel and campaign from in his basement again.” But I — what we did, we set up a theater in Delaware where I could, I could go on television from, I could appear, I...

On Friday’s broadcast of HBO’s “Real Time,” host Bill Maher said that while he thinks President Joe Biden “did well” in his State of the Union, he should stay in his basement like he did in 2020 because whenever he does interviews and press conferences, he messes up and looks like a “zombie” and the State of the Union was good because it was on a teleprompter and Biden only had to go off script every so often.

More than 74 migrant men have been living in a cramped basement below a furniture store in South Richmond Hill, Queens — where beds are so in-demand that only half can sleep there at one time, city officials said Tuesday. Fire prevention inspectors discovered the illegal subterranean boarding house Monday when they were called to 132-03 Liberty Ave. to investigate reports about a large collection of e-bike batteries, according to the FDNY. That’s when they found 40 migrants sleeping in the building’s basement — and realized that the true number of inhabitants was actually twice that. “A further probe revealed...

Florida Governor and GOP presidential candidate Ron DeSantis has withdrawn from planned appearances on two major Sunday political talk shows, CNN’s “State of the Union” and NBC’s “Meet The Press.” CNN’s spokesperson expressed disappointment but left the door open for future dialogues, stating on social media, “Unfortunately, tomorrow’s scheduled interview on CNN SOTU w/ Ron DeSantis was cancelled by the campaign. We look forward to having the Governor join us on the show in the near future.”

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, a GOP candidate for president in 2024, on Sunday went after former President Trump for not showing up to the GOP debates, suggesting Trump was “adopting Joe Biden’s basement strategy.” “With all due respect to Donald Trump, we’re not going to beat the Democrats by adopting Joe Biden’s basement strategy,” DeSantis said in an interview on Fox News’s “Sunday Morning Futures.”

Arizona Secretary of State Katie Hobbs will be the next governor of Arizona, barring a recount that says otherwise. And when the Democrat is sworn in, she’ll likely thank her handlers privately for their media strategy in getting her over the finish line after looking like the underdog going into Election Day against outspoken Republican Kari Lake. Hobbs embraced the same strategy that served Joe Biden as a candidate and continues to serve him as president: almost entirely avoiding the media, shunning any interviewer who may ask a tough question and rejecting the opportunity to debate an opponent. Hobbs did...

Lincoln Project founder Steve Schmidt said Friday on MSNBC’s “Deadline” that House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) was a “villainous figure” who should be “locked in a basement office until he wishes to testify.” Discussing McCarthy not cooperating with the House select committee investigating the January 6, 2021 riot on the U.S. Capitol, Schmidt said, “What Kevin McCarthy has become is this villainous figure that is among the most villainous figures that have been in the history of the American republic. He has played a profoundly important role over this last year through the lying, through the cover-up, of poisoning...

ABC legal analyst Sunny Hostin said Wednesday on ABC’s “The View” that former first lady Melania Trump’s online auction was “basement, tacky-type stuff.” Trump’s “Head of State Collection” includes a white hat, digital and watercolor paintings, and one-of-a-kind signed items.

President Biden left the White House before noon Friday for a long weekend at his beach house and kept out of sight as the FDA rejected his push for COVID-19 vaccine “booster” shots, the Pentagon admitted it killed Afghan civilians and France recalled its ambassador. Biden didn’t speak with reporters about the trio of political debacles during the less than two-hour trip to his Rehoboth Beach, Del., mansion — or after he arrived. In a forever stain on Biden’s chaotic Afghanistan pullout, the Pentagon admitted it mistakenly killed 10 innocent civilians... ...Biden has made 21 trips to his homes in...

An elderly German man is facing a suspended prison sentence for storing a WWII tank, anti-aircraft gun and torpedo in his basement. The case is moving through a German court, after Germany's army was called in to remove the tank and other weaponry from the 84-year-old's home in 2015. According to man's lawyer, a US museum is keen to buy the 1943 Panther tank, which weighs 50,000 kilograms and measures 6.7 metres long. Authorities were alerted to the remarkable collection after the home in the wealthy town of Heikendorf, a suburb of Kiel, was searched during an investigation into stolen...

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo has avoided public appearances for days as some members of his own party call for him to resign over sexual harassment allegations. The governor hasn’t taken questions from reporters since a Feb. 19 briefing, an unusually long gap for a Democrat whose daily, televised updates on the coronavirus pandemic were must-see TV last spring. He was last before video cameras Thursday, when he introduced President Joe Biden at a virtual meeting of the National Governor’s Association, which he chairs. He also participated Tuesday in the group’s conference call, which was off-limits...

President Biden is unlikely to meet in-person with a foreign leader for "a couple of months," press secretary Jen Psaki said on Tuesday. "I would anticipate for all of you that it will be a couple of months before the president invites a foreign leader to meet in person here at the White House," Psaki said at a news briefing. The comments are the first glimpse of a timeline the White House has given of when Biden might resume in-person meetings with foreign leaders as the coronavirus pandemic rages on. Biden has held calls with numerous foreign leaders since taking...

Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden appeared to forget the name of the Great Recession while also getting confused about the economic stimulus package he oversaw while serving as Barack Obama's Vice President during a speech on Saturday. **SNIP** But when Biden went on to compare the current situation to the Great Recession, the global economic downturn that occurred between 2007 and 2009, the presidential nominee appeared to stumble over its name, while also getting confused about the size of the stimulus package he oversaw. "You may remember, when we went through this with the Great... with the uh, that, that,...

by Samantha Foster Joe Biden spent a mere 6 hours in the state of Florida yesterday -- and the only thing he had to show for it was a cringey pandering embarrassment at a "Latino Outreach" meeting -- playing "Despacito" on his cell phone and becoming a national joke all day Wednesday. So understandably, tired and humiliated, he retreated to his basement, where he spent the day. No appearances. No press conference. No questions. (in other words, like most of Joe's days.) So the campaign figured it could change the subject by sending his wife Jill Biden to New...
