Argentina's Supreme Court has found dozens of boxes filled with Nazi material among its archives in its basement.
The 83 boxes hold documents including postcards, photographs and notebooks, as well as propaganda material, the court said on Sunday.
Court employees discovered the material by chance while preparing for the creation of a museum.
"Upon opening one of the boxes, we identified material intended to consolidate and propagate Adolf Hitler's ideology in Argentina during the Second World War," the court said.
The court has invited Argentina's Holocaust Museum to help document and preserve the materials.
Experts will also examine them for any clues that can "shed light on still-unknown aspects" of the Holocaust, such as international financing networks used by the Nazis, the court said

It is a great disgrace that our government and the Catholic Church helped so many Nazis escape. One excuse was that we were now fighting Communism. And Ex-Nazis could be useful in that regard.

After World War II, an estimated 5,000 Nazi leaders and collaborators went to Argentina, while between 1,500 and 2,000 went to Brazil. Many were tracked down by Simon Wisenthal (survivor of 12 concentration camps) who helped bring 1,100 to trial including Eichmann.
I have never been able to track down where I KNOW I read this story of the life of Dr. Mengele in secret exile in Argentina.
A serious car accident totaled the car he was riding in, killing the driver and others in the car but just bruising Mengele who escaped alive.
That is a real downer for anyone who believes in God.

I somewhat agree with you there. During WW2, Pius XII played a bad hand as best he could. Keeping the Germans from occupying Vatican City was itself a remarkable accomplishment. I have no ax to grind against him.
But there is considerable evidence that lesser Church officials were involved in the ratlines. The Vatican itself has commented on that.

One more thing, please. I am not implying that there is something uniquely bad about the Catholic Church. Every organization will have its shady characters.
