Colorado Gov. Jared Polis (D) on Thursday announced that he signed a measure adding a “gender” field to state death certificates. “The change will be in place by Jan. 1. Supporters say the law creates a space on forms to recognize an individual’s lived experience and aligns death certificates with other state records,” CPR News reported. The legislation, called HB 25-1109, created three options for “gender” on death certificates, including male, female, and “nonbinary.” Under the bill, coroners, funeral directors, and anyone else who fills out death certificates will be required to list the “gender identity” of the deceased person,...

Given how Obama has treated Israel, it would have come as no surprise if this had been intentional. In any case, the initial report was widely denied and dismissed as inaccurate; however, now Morton has confirmed that it was true, and says it was an error. An error that happens to coincide with the sitting president's consistent stance toward Israel, but apparently he can't be this open about it yet. "U.S. says Israel’s inclusion on terrorist watch list was a mistake," by Ron Kampeas for the Jewish Telegraph Agency, July 6 (thanks to all who sent this in): WASHINGTON (JTA)...

Over more than a decade, consumers became accustomed to the sweet, steady flow of free news, pictures, videos and music on the Internet. Paying was for suckers and old fogeys. Content, like wild horses, wanted to be free. Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation charges for access to The Wall Street Journal and could do the same on Hulu. Now, however, there are growing signs that this free ride is drawing to a close

BAGHDAD, Feb. 20, 2006 — The year 2006 is already shaping up to be a decisive year for Iraq. In 2005, Iraqis formed the basis for a free country through multiple elections, the writing and ratifying of a constitution and denying safe havens to terrorists. In 2006, the Iraqi people will reap the benefits of that hard work by taking back more and more control of their country, while seating a democratic government. At this moment 43 Iraqi Army battalions, 10 brigade headquarters and two division headquarters control their own battlespace. To put that in perspective, Iraqi Security Forces are...

My recent column on California's runaway housing prices provoked yelps of indignance from the special interests that have done much to make homeownership less affordable in the Golden State's major housing markets than anywhere else in the country. "Please give even any example of an 'excessive fee' on any development project," challenges one letter-writer, a no-growth environmentalist, who actually is a member of San Diego's Planning Commission. "I really hate to wish anyone bad luck, but maybe the only way the media will get it right is to experience substandard construction that the home builder refuses to repair," chides another...

The purpose of FreeRepublic.com's multiple message boards is to limit the topics for each board to particular topics. Posting the same message on all the boards defeats the purpose of multiple-boards for special topics. It is very annoying to see the same message on every bulletin board. PLEASE!
