The Anchorage Assembly made its final decision Tuesday night on which agencies would receive matching grants from the city. Whale capsizes hunter's boat Gina Anderson Anchorage, Alaska, June 26 - A hunter was killed during a boating accident near Little Diomede Island Wednesday. Melton Ozenna, 41, was on a whale hunt with three other men. Witnesses say the whale came up under the boat and capsized it, throwing all four men into the water. Melton hit his head on the bow as the boat flipped over. Another boat came and rescued the men right away, but Melton stopped breathing moments later. They were not able to revive him on the boat trip back to Little Diomede.

Modified Income Tax Plan Emerges Another tax plan has emerged on Capitol Hill. Senator Jim Kyle has proposed a plan that would create a six percent flat income tax while eliminating Tennessee's six percent sales tax on nearly everything. A state van containing a gauge with small amounts of radioactive material has been stolen. The device containing the radioactive material is in a case about the size of a suitcase. It was located in the back of a van operated by a Tennessee Department of Transportation employee in Corryton. The gauge is used for measuring moisture density in road construction and does not pose an immediate threat if it is remains in tact. Officials say if the radioactive sources are exposed or removed from their sealed container could present a radiation hazard.
