Though Senate Democrats are being as loud as anyone in condemning today's anti-pledge decision by the far-left 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, the decision is a humiliating bombshell for them.
Appointees of Bill Clinton dominate the court, the most radical in the nation, and the ruling gives new fuel to Republicans urging Senate Democrats to stop blocking President Bush's judicial choices.
Fox News analyst Newt Gingrich said tonight said that the man who wrote the opinion, "senior" Judge Alfred T. Goodwin, had to be "brought back from retirement to fill a vacancy," all because of Senate obstructionsim.
Even the chief obstructionist himself, Senate plurality leader Tom Daschle, called the ruling "nuts." So will he finally get his act in gear?
As the Associated Press pointed out today, Daschle, Judiciary Committee Chairman Patrick "Leaky" Leahy and their cronies have failed to allow a vote on three of Bush's 9th Circuit nominees: Carolyn Kuhl, Richard Clifton and Jay Bybee.

Impeach Judges Goodwin and Reinhardt.

To: kattracks
before we get too worked up about dems responsible for these judges, take note that the judge who wrote the opinion was appointed by a Republican
Judge Alfred T. Goodwin by President Nixon in 1971

But read the article:

See this is actually better than having a regular appointed liberal there. He was there soley because of dasshole's refusal to have hearings on Bush nominees. Woohoo this will be big points for us.

I believe this ruling will help to focus the attention of the people on the courts and the character of the nominees of the respective parties. Dashle and Leahy want exactly this type of judge nominee on our courts. They don't want anyone who would rule the pledge as a reasonable expression.

When did this Country get a joint president. Every time something happens ABC goes to Bush with his response then runs to Dashole for his take. I do not remeber them running to Trent Lott after talking to Clintoon.

I've been wondering about that myself. Daschle has set himself up as the co-president, IMO.

I saw that it's about Daschle. I saw Newt on but was listening to talk radio at the same time. Guess I tuned Newt out. Daschle can wear this like a yoke around his neck through the November 2002 elections.
Whoever has been voting with Daschle, the Daschle democrats, need to be voted out of office. It's not just a SD problem IMO. This is a national problem and if The Pledge of Allegiance is at stake, then we're in big trouble. Let's get some graphics and cartoons to email to folks and get the word out that it's Daschle's fault for NOT LEADING. FV

So was Earl Warren but he was an out and out liberal/socialist.

Why are you watching ABC? They like short guys like Daschle at ABC, look at Stephanapoulis getting the Sunday Talk Show. Poor Cokey lost her gig.

"Even the chief obstructionist himself, Senate plurality leader Tom Daschle, called the ruling "nuts."Under the right poltical climate shorty would have said the opposite. He sees the resurgence of patiotism because of the September 11 attacks and doesn't want to appear on the wrong side of the fence. He has no more honor that Bubba, Hildebeast and Ted The Swimmer.

I am not watching ABC tv. That is the stupid bias top of the hour news I get while listening to RUSH and the rest of the conservatives on KSTP AM in MN.

before we get too worked up about dems responsible for these judges, take note that the judge who wrote the opinion was appointed by a RepublicanDoesn't matter who appointed him. This is what happens when you drag some dottering old fool out of retirement because there are too few judges to man the bench. The old guy is senile.
To: Howlin
I find it amazing that an 80 year old man would make a ruling like this. He's too close to meeting his maker to be doing foolish things like this.
