VIDEO After Madrid we took the train to Bilbao to arrive on a cold and rainy day. However, a few hours after our arrival it warmed up a bit and the rain lessened enough so that by the time we went atop a nearby mountain overlooking the city with a magnificent view the rain had ceased. Besides the beauty of Bilbao which is the biggest city in the Basque region of Spain, what really impressed me was the sheer size of their primary enclosed market, the Mercado de la Ribera. I was told it was the largest enclosed market in...

Two days before the midterms, the people running the Trump White House quietly confirmed what the rest of us have been screaming about for two years. They don’t care who wins. They’ve already built the machine that runs without a legislature, and they’ve been building it since April. That’s the Reuters story that dropped this morning, and it’s the one Ed Krassenstein was yelling about on X before most of you had coffee. A White House official and two other people familiar with the plans told Reuters that Stephen Miller, Russell Vought and the White House Counsel’s Office have spent...

“I’ve seen at least 15 cases of voter registration that resulted in actual voting by non-U.S. citizens in the last two weeks alone". We’re seeing this now play out in California and Washington where secretaries of state insist that there are no non-citizens registered to vote, then admit that they have no ability to check the citizenship of whoever is voting, but insist that there’s no reason to believe that there are non-citizens voting because it’s illegal for non-citizens to vote… and so they don’t have to worry about non-citizens voting. However, according to Department of Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne...
