“A private jet carrying nine people has crashed just eight miles from Mar-a-Lago in Florida, erupting into a colossal fire and sending a boom echoing for miles. The FAA confirmed that a $2 million Learjet 60 plummeted from the air, falling 32,000ft in a minute, causing a roaring amber blaze and plumes of smoke to billow from the scorched roadside in Greenacres, Palm Beach County. A large crater was seen as a result of the impact with debris scattered around it. Flight data showed that the flight was traveling from Austin, Texas, to North Eleuthera in the Bahamas before its path abruptly ended just near West Palm Beach.”

I meant DailyMail…..but it does seem to be ailing from TDS.

Harbour Island, connected to the north end of Eleuthera, is a vacation destination for the wealthy. (FD I taught college courses in Governor’s Harbour in the center of the island a few decades ago.)
But that was a pretty good fireball. It apparently fell in an area where Spanish speaking people seen to be prevalent. Since all I heard were people speaking Spanish excpet for the person repeating OMG over & over at what I contend was not a lear jet.
The fact that Mar-A)lago was 80 miles aways I doubt has any relevance that it was within an uncomfortable range, but indicates nothing in regards to targeting his Mar-A-Lago Estate.
No radio contact? Could be an intentional threat....

Victims probably voted early, and their votes will still count. I wonder how many people vote early, and die before election day.
Wow! That came down like a meteor! I wonder what happened. Those passengers barely had time to make their peace with God.
I asked SI to make a joke:
“The rats are considering a kamikaze strategy against Trump. The problem is, they can’t agree on who gets to be the pilot, and everyone wants to fly first class.” 😄
My thought too...suicide/deliberate.
Pure speculation on my part, but chances are they were either dead or passed out before ground impact.
If the jet “fell” FRom 32,000 feet in one minute, as reported, I suspect hypoxia — i.e., cabin pressurization failed and the crew & passengers were oxygen deprived (hypoxia) and passed out long before ground impact.
Again — pure speculation.
Like I said within the range of Mar-a-Lago. It was really fast. Green Acres BTW, is a trailer park. So I suspect that there are casualties there as well. I do not think that Mar-a-Lago was a target though. Esepecally if there were nine people aboard unless 9 terrorists wanted to get to their 72 virgins each, now, not later and bask in the glory in their homelands.
Anything is possible, but until I learn more, I have to assume that this was noot a terrorist attack. If it was, then they missed, yet again I guess. 😁🤙
My sympathies for those who lost loved ones in this horrific crash.
If so, it didn’t affect the pilot
Like I said, who was the pilot 8 miles from Mar a Lago.
Reminds me of flight 93.
Bad weather by potential icing or pilot disorientation is my initial guess. It is probably going to take a month before a NTSB initial report is is released.
No fly zone around Mar a Lago is 2.3 miles in diameter 2,000 feet in altitude.
That jet was only 6 miles from no fly zone.
And this was a private jet, not a smaller plane or a helicopter.
...... Interesting question ..... The only way you can confirm that was a jet crash was if you slow down the video frame by frame ..... Otherwise It hit as fast as a missile and left a sizeable crater .... Bodies would have been vaporized at that speed .....
