California’s legislature has passed Assembly Bill 1856, exempting open-source operating systems from the State’s Digital Age Assurance Act months before the law is due to take effect on January 1, 2027. The Senate amended the Bill on August 21 before passing it on the 26th in a 39-0 vote, with the Assembly then accepting these changes in a concurrence vote the following day. The amendment ends almost a year of uncertainty surrounding whether Linux distributions and SteamOS would be forced to collect user age data during account setup alongside Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android. AB 1856 has now been sent...

The earliest confirmed archaeological layers at Andriake date to the 3rd century BCE, though many researchers believe the harbor served Myra as early as the Classical period. The synagogue is currently dated to the 5th–6th century CE based on inscriptions and architectural context; further publication of the excavation is ongoing. This documentary follows current archaeological interpretations and distinguishes established evidence from open academic questions. REPUBLICAN TURNOUT IS KEY !! I once read a study that showed that Democrat turnout is relatively constant. So *ALL* races are won or lost by GOP turnout.

In 2008, I changed my registration for one day to vote for Obama in the Presidential primary - because I thought he was the one candidate certain to lose to McCain. So take what I say with a grain of salt. In both the US Senate race (retiring Democrat) and NH CD 1 (Democrat congressman running for Senate) there are opportunities for Republican pickups in a purple-trending blue state. The primary is next week. The Democratic Senate race features my congressman, Chris Pappas, a Mayor Pete wannabe who has been thought likely to win the nomination against a DSA candidate....

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) snared nearly 2,200 illegal migrants — including convicted murderers, rapists and drug traffickers — in a monthlong sweep across New York state, Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin announced Tuesday. Agents nabbed 2,197 people between July 27 and Aug. 29 as part of “Operation Rotten Apple” — which Mullin noted was conducted “with no help” from either Mayor Zohran Mamdani or Gov. Kathy Hochul. “Operation Rotten Apple did what sanctuary politicians in New York City and the state of New York refuse to do: made the Empire State safer,” Mullin said in a statement. “We won’t...

Anyone here know some details about the threat to Oklahoma schools from yesterday? The sheriff folks are understandable tight lipped right now. I think some schools closed for a bit, and other have added security. I was looking for details about the threats that were posted online. I think TikTok and Snapchat were listed but I don't see what specifically was said in the threats. And I'm wondering what groups had what complaints. We're a very red state and I'm not surprised that volatile libs would have a beef with our politics but I don't recall a specific school policy...

The West has mastered the technology of civilization but embraced the politics of barbarism, creating a modern medieval world where progress and regression coexist. For most people, the story of the medieval world was one of cramped cities, constant violent crime, and episodic outbreaks of deadly plagues—the dividends of unclean urban conditions, rotting food, fouled water, open sewage, unchecked rats, fleas, lice. Most of each day was spent simply trying to survive until the next. Castles and walls dotted the landscape to protect kingdoms from marauding tribes and foreign invaders. City gates were usually closed at dusk to keep out...

he 2026 midterm election will mark one of the most important inflection points in our history. The results will determine what groups and theory of governance direct our country going forward. The stakes could not be any higher regarding the future of our nation and most of its citizens. Most alarming is nobody is safe if the radical left’s vision of America wins. Today’s Democrat candidates are leading a political movement that is geared to promote socialism and a rise in tyranny in our country resulting in a significant loss of freedom and control over their daily lives for Americans....

n August 9 in Short-barreled rifles are finally legal—sort of—maybe… I wrote about a recent decision by a Texas federal judge striking down portions of the 1934 National Firearms Act. That act was written under congressional taxing powers, but when President Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill eliminated that tax for NFA items, the lawful basis for requiring registration of short-barreled rifles, short-barreled shotguns, and suppressors vanished. In effect, the constitutional basis of the NFA disappeared. Graphic: X PostThe catch is the judge’s injunction, which hasn’t yet been appealed by the DOJ but might be, applies only to the parties to the...

DeSantis does it again. On Monday, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis did something no other governor has done. He tore down all the Flock cameras on the highways. [DeSantis] told interviewer Eric Bolling that state agencies would take down the units they control and that 'we're going to clear the state right-of-ways.' The governor estimated that the large majority of Florida's roughly 7,500 license-plate readers sit on local rather than state roads. The memo applies only to devices in the right-of-way of the State Highway System. It does not cover cameras on county or city roads, private property or other types...

A Reno woman was attacked by an otter while swimming near Hidden Beach on the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe on Sunday morning. Lynnette Bellin, a swim instructor who regularly visits the lake, said she has been swimming in Tahoe's waters for more than two decades. Advertisement "I try to get up there once or twice a week. It's my absolute favorite thing to do in the area," Bellin said. "I find it so peaceful and refreshing and just kind of meditative." However, her swim on Sunday morning was far from peaceful. "I just felt something grab me by my...

On a visit to NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston last week, President Trump promised American astronauts would establish a permanent presence on the Moon before pushing forward to Mars. “Our nation will conquer … this vast frontier that we have before us … We will explore it, we will tame it, and we will win it,” he said of America’s present “golden age” of space exploration. But researchers thinking of truly big ideas say we’ll never get there with today’s inefficient chemical rocket technology. And they point to an important breakthrough. “We’re really pushing for permanent infrastructure, like a...

🇺🇸Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem🇮🇱 (9/1/26)[Prayer]PersonalitiesPsalm 10[a] 1 Why, Lord, do you stand far off? Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble? 2 In his arrogance the wicked man hunts down the weak, who are caught in the schemes he devises. 3 He boasts about the cravings of his heart; he blesses the greedy and reviles the Lord. 4 In his pride the wicked man does not seek him; in all his thoughts there is no room for God. 5 His ways are always prosperous; your laws are rejected by[b] him; he sneers at all his enemies....

What is communism? asks Krzysztof Szczawinski on X. No, it’s not the “bread lines, gulags, failed five-year plans, and the collapsed Soviet Union.” No, it’s not “a discredited economic theory”. [Instead, it’s] a total, systemic, institutionalized commitment to lying. Not occasional dishonesty. Not spin or propaganda in the ordinary sense. Something deeper -- a civilizational war against truth itself[.] Then he goes on to give us two words that the Poles invented to describe life under communism: Zakłamanie [zah-kwah-MAH-nyeh] -- a state of total, pervasive, socially embedded falsehood[.] And Obłuda [ob-woo-dah] -- a deep, performative hypocrisy[.] I’m sure he’s right....
