🇺🇸Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem🇮🇱 (9/1/26)[Prayer]

Personalities

Psalm 10[a]

1  Why, Lord, do you stand far off?
    Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble?

2  In his arrogance the wicked man hunts down the weak,
    who are caught in the schemes he devises.

3  He boasts about the cravings of his heart;
    he blesses the greedy and reviles the Lord.

4  In his pride the wicked man does not seek him;
    in all his thoughts there is no room for God.

5  His ways are always prosperous;
    your laws are rejected by[b] him;
    he sneers at all his enemies.

6  He says to himself, “Nothing will ever shake me.”
    He swears, “No one will ever do me harm.”

7  His mouth is full of lies and threats;
    trouble and evil are under his tongue.

8  He lies in wait near the villages;
    from ambush he murders the innocent.
His eyes watch in secret for his victims;

9      like a lion in cover he lies in wait.
He lies in wait to catch the helpless;
    he catches the helpless and drags them off in his net.

10  His victims are crushed, they collapse;
    they fall under his strength.

11  He says to himself, “God will never notice;
    he covers his face and never sees.”

12  Arise, Lord! Lift up your hand, O God.
    Do not forget the helpless.

13  Why does the wicked man revile God?
    Why does he say to himself,
    “He won’t call me to account”?

14  But you, God, see the trouble of the afflicted;
    you consider their grief and take it in hand.
The victims commit themselves to you;
    you are the helper of the fatherless.

15  Break the arm of the wicked man;
    call the evildoer to account for his wickedness
    that would not otherwise be found out.

16  The Lord is King for ever and ever;
    the nations will perish from his land.

17  You, Lord, hear the desire of the afflicted;
    you encourage them, and you listen to their cry,

18  defending the fatherless and the oppressed,
    so that mere earthly mortals
    will never again strike terror.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Our Father In Heaven,

Hallowed be Your Most Holy and Wonderful Name!

You Alone Are Worthy of Our Devotion,

For You Alone Are LORD,

You Alone Are the True God of The Universe!

The Earth is Yours

And The Fullness thereof

You Control the Wind and The Rain

You Create a Lovely Spring Day

Or a Mighty Tempest.

Where can we run?

For When I Go to sleep at night,

You are with me.

When I awake in the morning,

You Are There.

You know my going out and my coming in.

You count every hair of my head,

And You keep all my tears in a bottle as a remembrance.

 Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance

Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.
This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.
God Bless America.

A wise man once said to me:

"If I seem to be pointing a finger at YOU, remember that three fingers are pointed back at ME."

Jesus taught us that we must remove the plank from our own eye before removing a tiny splinter from somebody else's. Although those in leadership are called to exort and correct the flock, they have to be very careful about their own behavior, especially that which occurs in secret.

Because of the proliferation of the Internet, very little remains secret these days.

Doing an in-depth study of a towering Biblical Figure can be really disconcerting. There are parts of David's personality that I really don't like. Judging from Scripture, there are parts of David's personality that God doesn't like either. While God withholds from David the fulfillment of his most cherished dream (the building of the Temple), He promises David that a King will come from his line, who will rule forever.

All through his years as a Shepherd, a Music Therapist, a Warrior, a Fugitive, "a Pirate, a Poet, a Pawn and a King" (Thanks Frank!), David wrote songs. His Songwriting reflected his personality and marked the various stages in his life.

In today's Psalm, which is a continuation of Yesterday's, David "points the finger" at the Wicked. He describes them as bloodthirsty thugs who murder the innocent. Yet, David was like that too in his years among the Philistines.

Can it be that David is pointing three fingers back at himself, as he struggles with this big piece of wood in his eye?

Psalm 91

1 You who live in the shelter of the Most High,
who abide in the shadow of the Almighty,*
2 will say to the Lord, ‘My refuge and my fortress;
my God, in whom I trust.’
3 For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler
and from the deadly pestilence;
4 he will cover you with his pinions,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
5 You will not fear the terror of the night,
or the arrow that flies by day,
6 or the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
or the destruction that wastes at noonday.

7 A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
8 You will only look with your eyes
and see the punishment of the wicked.

9 Because you have made the Lord your refuge,*
the Most High your dwelling-place,
10 no evil shall befall you,
no scourge come near your tent.

11 For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways.
12 On their hands they will bear you up,
so that you will not dash your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the adder,
the young lion and the serpent you will trample under foot.

14 Those who love me, I will deliver;
I will protect those who know my name.
15 When they call to me, I will answer them;
I will be with them in trouble,
I will rescue them and honour them.
16 With long life I will satisfy them,
and show them my salvation.
