Vice President JD Vance said Tuesday that President Donald Trump is still hoping that negotiations with Iran will result in an agreement on ending Tehran's nuclear enrichment program. However, Trump remains "locked and loaded," should the negotiations fails."It takes two to tango," Vance said at a raucous White House press briefing in which he was a substitute press secretary. "We are not going to have a deal that allows the Iranians to have a nuclear weapon." Vance said that he believes the Iranians want to make a deal, and the president has directed diplomacy efforts to negotiation in "good faith."...

You would have time to make peace with what has happened. A fully frozen Earth... that would be the result! Image Credit: Art Knights / Shutterstock.com It is Terrifying Affair Thursday, and we are imagining a scenario that could never happen, but is wonderfully fun to explore. And in case it becomes a ridiculous conspiracy theory like Earth losing gravity for 7 seconds, at least we are ahead of the curve in debunking it. The scenario for the day is what if the Sun somehow disappears? Magically vanishes from the center of the Solar System. What would happen next? Well,...

Illinois governor J.B. Pritzker’s administration offers a taxpayer-funded training on “microaggressions” that depicts white people and police officers as mosquitoes who suck blood from people of color, the Free Beacon’s Peter Hasson reports. The training—which Pritzker’s Department of Human Rights (whatever that is, presumably nothing good) offers to “private-sector, government, and public participants,” including, in the case of a May 13 session, to the Free Beacon—is intended to “increase knowledge, awareness and prevention of discrimination and harassment issues.” It defines “microaggressions” as “the everyday verbal, nonverbal, and environmental slights, snubs, or insults, whether intentional or unintentional, that communicate hostile, derogatory,...

There’s some drama happening in the progressive wing of the Democratic Party — rivalry between Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Ro Khanna ahead of the 2028 presidential race, according to Axios. It’s been clear to see both position themselves as possible heirs to the Bernie Sanders movement, but they are not in agreement on what that movement looks like. What’s interesting here is that the divide isn’t just about personality. It’s about strategy, staffing and what version of “Bernie-style politics” they’re actually trying to inherit. Axios reports that on one side, you have what some are calling the “Old Bernie” approach...

In the final days of a tough campaign, @RepThomasMassie is making his closing argument to his district in Kentucky — good people who want lower interest rates, relief from high prices, good education and security. So what’s his message? “We have to stop the Jews!” What does that say about how mainstream antisemitism has become in America? — David M Friedman (@DavidM_Friedman) May 19, 2026Notice how Massie just brings up Israel and Jews unprompted, out of the blue. Explanation: Is this a painting or a photograph? In this celestial abstract art composed with a cosmic brush, dusty nebula NGC 2170, also known as the Angel Nebula, shines just above the image center. Reflecting the light of nearby hot stars, NGC 2170 is joined by other bluish reflection nebulae, a red emission region, many dark absorption nebulae, and a backdrop of colorful stars. Like the common household items that abstract painters often choose for their subjects, the clouds of gas, dust, and hot stars featured here are also commonly found in a setting like this one -- a massive,...

"Non-human" bodies of varying species have been recovered from crashed UFO craft, filmmaker Dan Farah told Fox News on Monday, citing accounts from senior intelligence officials interviewed for his new disclosure documentary. ... This comes as the Trump administration has placed pressure on government agencies to release files related to unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAPs) and alleged extraterrestrial encounters to the public. The Department of War subsequently declassified never-before-seen material related to the request, including dozens of PDFs, images and videos. Farah alleged, however, that resistance inside the federal government has slowed broader public disclosure efforts. "The people who have gatekept...

Thomas Massie, the Kentucky Republican congressman locked in a heated primary battle with a Trump-backed challenger, is fundraising from anti-war, Muslim-American activists, and leftist-aligned PACs. Senate Republicans on Tuesday vented their frustration and disappointment over President Trump’s decision to endorse state Attorney General Ken Paxton over Sen. John Cornyn (R) in the Texas Senate Republican primary, a move that deals a crushing blow to Cornyn’s hopes of winning the May 26 runoff. “I don’t understand. He is an ethically challenged individual,” Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) said of Paxton, who was charged with defrauding investors in a Dallas-area tech startup before he completed a pretrial diversion program. Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) said she was “supremely disappointed” in Trump’s endorsement of Paxton over Cornyn. “I don’t understand...

President Donald Trump on Monday announced more than 600 generic medications are being added to the government's discounted-drug website TrumpRx, dramatically increasing offerings from one of the Republican administration's key initiatives to help Americans struggling with high costs. The beefed-up website is the Trump administration's answer to criticism from Democrats who have called TrumpRx performative and noted that many of the brand-name drugs it has featured are cheaper with insurance or have lower-cost generic versions sold elsewhere. It also marks an effort to respond to a top voter concern for November's midterm elections: affordability. Health costs are a worry for many...

One American view of China—now increasingly popular on the Left and the Right alike, especially among the hate-Trump crowd—is that the communist colossus will be forever ascendant, with continued astonishing levels of food production, ship construction, and industrial output. In this pessimistic view, China will soon replace America as the world’s predominant power. We are, supposedly, like an exhausted British Empire circa 1945, and China is the new version of the postwar American powerhouse.

Donald Trump was for the Iran war before he was against it. His latest post on social media about the conflict indicated that he is once more calling off a sweeping military action, this time at the behest of his Gulf allies who are apparently quaking at the thought of a renewed conflict. Trump’s initial sentence was quite a mouthful: I have been asked by the Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, and the President of the United Arab Emirates, Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to hold...

Max Morley, a Democrat seeking to unseat Daniel Grossberg as Kentucky State Representative in the 30th House District, was caught on a home security camera stealing a Grossberg campaign flyer from a voter's mail box. Morley admitted to "a lack of judgment. This isn't acceptable, and it's something I'm deeply sorry for. I apologize to the homeowner. I want one thing to remain clear: voters in HD 30 deserve better than their current representative, and I don't want them to be distracted from the ultimate goal of sending him home." Louisville Democratic Party Vice Chair Rosalind Welch said "I was...
