I spent the past couple of days attending the International Conference on Climate Change, put on by the Heartland Institute in Washington. There was a good deal of material that will be of interest to readers. A major issue addressed by multiple presenters goes under the heading âWhat is the proof?â, and in particular what is the proof that there is some kind of climate âcrisisâ coming our way. You will not be surprised to learn that for most every claim of the climate cabal, the proof is lacking. The most interesting presentation on this subject came from John Clauser....

According to Omaha police, officers were called to the Walmart near 72nd and Pine streets around 9:20 a.m. on Tuesday. When officers arrived, they saw a woman, identified as 31-year-old Noemi Guzman, outside the store holding a knife to a 3-year-old boy, who was in a shopping cart, officials said. Officials said Guzman approached the caretaker with a knife, giving the caretaker commands to go in front of the shopping cart. Investigators believe Guzman stole the knife from the store. Police said Guzman followed the caretaker out of the store and into the parking lot. The caretaker was able to...

On April 10, 2026, a three-judge panel of the Fifth Circuit issued its opinion in Morris v. DOJ, reinforcing a longstanding constitutional limit on Congressâs taxing power: it may impose taxes that raise revenue, but it cannot simply prohibit conduct under the guise of taxation. The reasoning and precedents cited in Morris could bolster challenges to the constitutionality of the NFAâs registration scheme for suppressors, SBRs, SBSs, and AOWs now that the making and transfer tax on those items has been reduced to zero. The case in the Fifth Circuit is Morris v. DOJ. It concerns the federal ban on home distilleries,...

Plastered around Westminster this Easter were adverts for the Tower of London. âThe perfect place for troublemakers â pre-book now,â the poster read. âMembers go free.â So too â near enough â do those on Universal Credit (UC). Holiday treats can be expensive for hard-working families. For those on benefits theyâre a breeze. A trip to the Tower of London for a family of four costs ÂŁ111. But if one of the parents is on UC (or a long list of other benefits), a ÂŁ107 saving is applied and the whole family can get in for just ÂŁ4. Visit the...

At least 75 vehicles were ensnared in a massive, chain-reaction pileup on a Colorado highway Tuesday, authorities said. The crashes unfolded in the Rocky Mountains west of Denver, specifically near Loveland Ski Area, and followed a chaotic morning that saw six separate wrecks, mostly along the same highway, according to the Clear Creek County Sheriff's Office. Officials said the latest crash forced a two-way lane shutdown on Interstate 70, as photos released by the authorities showed emergency crews assisting drivers at the scene. "The closure is due to a severe multi-vehicle crash on the east side of Eisenhower-Johnson Memorial Tunnel...

A shadow industry of law firms and advisers is charging thousands of pounds to help migrants pretend to be gay in order to stay in the UK, the BBC has found. In the first part of a major undercover investigation, we reveal how migrants whose visas are due to run out are being given fake cover stories and instructed in how to obtain fabricated evidence, including supporting letters, photographs and medical reports. They then apply for asylum claiming to be gay and in fear for their lives if they return to Pakistan or Bangladesh. In response to our findings, the Home...

Meanwhile, foreign Islamists meeting âresidencyâ requirements receive taxpayer assistance. Andreas Wailzer at LifeSite News reports that the German government, through the Ministry of Construction, has just proposed a new bill that âwould give municipalities the right of first refusal if a potential buyer of property has âanti-constitutional aspirations.ââ [The elite German rulers, closely in concert with E.U. Bureaucrats, have little concern for the common people, who are tending to express their discontent at the results of Angela Merkle's open immigration policies by steady increases in votes for Alternative fĂŒr Deutschland, AfD. Once shockwaves from reductions in Gulf petrol, LNG and...

The president and I spoke an hour after Buckingham Palace announced details of King Charles and Queen Camilla's state visit to the United States. His tone and his language revealed to me how distinctly he differentiates Britain's royals from its politicians. He also revealed that he did not know that the King's visit is taking place at the request of the government.

Daily Readings from the USCCBâAnd this is the verdict, that the light came into the world, but people preferred darkness to light, because their works were evil. For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come toward the light, so that his works might not be exposed. But whoever lives the truth comes to the light, so that his works may be clearly seen as done in God. John 3:19â21The contrast of light and darkness is a beautiful concept to ponder in prayer. They are not two opposing forces. Darkness is simply the absence of light....

We told you that New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani would be bad, and the democrat socialist has proven to be as terrible or perhaps even worse than we warned. Heâs continued his antisemitic rhetoric and demeaning of police, wants to tax the wealthy out of existence (or at least, out of the state), and is striving to make DEI great again â just what nobody needs. On Sunday, he announced that the cityâs first city-run grocery store will open in East Harlem, and it will cost $30 million to build and take over a year to complete.Trump could probably build...

"Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy" (Matt. 5:7). There are many ways to show mercy. God delights in mercy, and as a believer you have the privilege of showing mercy in many ways. In the physical realm you can give money to the poor, food to the hungry, or a bed to the homeless. God has always wanted His people to be that way. Deuteronomy 15 says, "If there is a poor man with you . . . you shall not harden your heart, nor close your hand from [him]; but you shall freely open your hand...

The polybolos has long been a legendary weapon of Roman military might, both in the sense that it could inflict tremendous damage and that it may never have existed. But archaeologists and engineers from the University of Campania Luigi Vanvitelli and the University of Bologna have identified ancient artillery holes that they believe correspond to shots from the device, according to a Diario AS report. The polybolos, literally "multiple thrower," was a chain-driven freestanding catapult that fired metal-tipped bolts from a magazine in quick-repeating succession, automatically, according to a description by Philo of Byzantium, a Greek engineer living in the third...

The number of migrants approved for citizenship dropped by roughly 50 percent amid the pro-America review process set by Donald Trumpâs agents at the Department of Homeland Security. The reduced inflow of migrants will pressure companies to raise wages and increase investment in productivity-boosting workplace technology. The decline will also cut housing costs, helping Americans to get married and raise kids. There were big fluctuations in applications for naturalization during 2025, yet overall, there was a steep drop in citizenship requests compared to 2024, which was Bidenâs final year in office, according to the latest data from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services...
