Plastered around Westminster this Easter were adverts for the Tower of London. ‘The perfect place for troublemakers – pre-book now,’ the poster read. ‘Members go free.’ So too – near enough – do those on Universal Credit (UC). Holiday treats can be expensive for hard-working families. For those on benefits they’re a breeze.
A trip to the Tower of London for a family of four costs £111. But if one of the parents is on UC (or a long list of other benefits), a £107 saving is applied and the whole family can get in for just £4. Visit the Tower’s cafe for fish and chips and UC bags you a half-price meal (£16.95 for the rest of us). If looking at animals is more attractive than looking for a job, the Zoological Society offers those on UC an £82 discount to London Zoo, reducing the family ticket from £108 to £26.
It’s the same story across London’s most popular tourist attractions: HMS Belfast (£68 discount), St Paul’s Cathedral (£61), Westminster Abbey (£60), the Cutty Sark (£54), Kew Gardens (£45), the London Transport Museum (£44) and the Science Museum’s Wonderlab (£27).
It gives a new meaning to the term ‘leisure class’, and this benefits bonanza is hugely popular – with those on welfare. Less so for the rest of us, who pay for it.
This is not the Britain Keir Starmer and Rachel Reeves pretend they live in. ‘I believe in a Britain founded on contribution,’ the Chancellor declared at last year’s Labour conference. Her vision, she concluded, was of a country powered by the contribution of its people’.
Fast-forward six months that uncertain world has arrived. The defiance, though, is missing. UK could be among the worst-hit nations in the world by red-hot inflation and recession. Households squeezed.

I think it was Benjamin Franklin who said being poor should hurt, so as to incentivize poor people to leave poverty.
If you pay for poverty, you get more of it.
It is hard to characterize those on benetits in the UK as “poor”. They are more like freeloaders.
If anybody wondered why the Royal Navy has more admirals than ships now....or why the entire British Army can easily fit into a single football stadium with room to spare despite taxes being higher than at any time since WWII, now you know why.
It would be bad enough if the UK were paying for their own poor. You could at least make somewhat of an argument for that....ie “hey we’re all British”....”the nation is like a big family and we take care of our own”, etc. Now they’ve got millions of 3rd world leeches pouring in to freeload as well.
Wow…the Brits are paying Muslims to colonize them! Kind of like a prostitute paying for customers…
Hey, British overlords, just print more money to support your expanding populations of layabouts. And, while you’re at it, remember to subsidize more offspring for the layabout classes and import more Muslims who have no interest in actually working. What could possibly go wrong?
A wise British woman once said something about other people’s money.
paradise for freeloaders?! not a nice thing to say about the royals.
William is about to be King.
He will assert the authority that his grandmother so cowardly lacked the wherewithal to use
Parliment?
William and Katherine have the people, the real Brits
He will assert the authority that his grandmother so cowardly lacked the wherewithal to use
******************************************************
I hope that turns out to be true. The British people surely need the help.
I disagree. He'll assert nothing except same old same old of ribbon cutting, waving, and being present at various functions. Not sure what exactly it is the royals do but that.
Islam is fast taking control of British life and British government. William must know this by now.
I have been watching of videos of William and Katherine working the crowds. They are seriously loved.
In the crowds are nary a black face nor Paki nor woman whose head is wrapped in a rag. The crowds are the exact opposite of what is shown on the BBC TV.
Oh and by the way. I think William might see to reopening the closed oil fields.
We’ll see
Thank God for President Donald Trump, who had the wisdom, honesty, and courage to enlighten those willing to recognize the Truth.
islam the biggest Freeloading Cult on the Planet
I went to the Tower Of London in 1976 as a young man . It cost 10 pence to get in - that’s 90 pence in today’s money . Now costs 30 pounds ? Holy sheet !
“Now they’ve got millions of 3rd world leeches pouring in to freeload as well.”
The NHS is overburdened by birth defects children from Pakistani inbreeding. It is so bad it was reported in UK Daily Mail. They will go back to Pakistan for months on extended vacations and cheaper living. Meanwhile their benefits (scams) money keeps depositing into their bank.
Very often a young man or woman will marry someone living in Pakistan. The Pakistani family will pay the UK father thousands of pounds for this privilege. To get the Pakistani family rights to immigrate legally.
“William is about to be King.”
King Charles is head of the Church of England. Kings have always been called “defender of the faith”. Instead he calls himself “defender of faiths”

“King Charles III is the supreme governor of the Church of England”
Doesn’t matter the British king has very little actual power
