The parallels between American black ghettos and European no-go zones are obvious. In a relatively short period from 1940â1960, over 2.5 million blacks migrated to Northern cities from the predominately agrarian South. Their assimilation into mainstream society was arduous. It became a visible problem by the 1960s with unrest and rioting commonplace in black neighborhoods during summer months. It was against this backdrop of urban unrest and Vietnam war protest that the Canadian rock band, Guess Who, created the 1970 hit American Woman. The songâs iconic lyrics express the bandâs rejection of the great temptress, America, with her seductive allure...

As all eyes are glued to the happenings in the Middle East, this story flew under the radar for most of us. But in a lot of ways, the implications for our national security could be greater than what happens in the next few weeks in the Persian Gulf. Key Takeaways A federal judge in Connecticut upheld the ban on firearms in U.S. post offices, creating a split among federal courts on Second Amendment rights. Judge Oliver ruled the ban does not violate the Second Amendment, citing historical traditions of restricting firearms in crowded areas. The case was brought by David Nastri and We The Patriots USA, who argued for the right to carry firearms in post offices for self-defense. This ruling contrasts with a Texas decision finding the ban unconstitutional, potentially setting the stage for a Supreme Court review of the issue. The ongoing legal battle highlights complexities...

ultiple recent drone incursions over U.S. bases housing strategic military assets amplify concerns The War Zone has been documenting for years about highly worrisome drone flights over these installations and critical capabilities. Wearing a hijab, Brewer on Monday recorded a video that quickly went viral. In it, she happily admits that if she is commanded, as a member of the U.S. military, to fight other Muslims, she would disobey the orders.
