ultiple recent drone incursions over U.S. bases housing strategic military assets amplify concerns The War Zone has been documenting for years about highly worrisome drone flights over these installations and critical capabilities. These incidents, as we’ve noted, present a risk to national and local security.
One of the drone overflights took place earlier this month at Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana, home of B-52 Stratofortress bombers and nuclear weapons storage facilities, and a key part of the airborne leg of America’s nuclear triad. Another was at an unspecified installation last month, the commander of U.S. Northern Command mentioned in recent written testimony for the Senate Armed Services Committee (SASC). Both situations took place after the U.S. began bombing Iran in a campaign that has included B-52, B-1 Lancer and B-2 Spirit bombers. It is unknown at this point if there is a connection, however, as we have frequently reported, the military is highly concerned about drones operating with near impunity over its facilities. In addition to interfering with flights and their potential use as weapons, drones can surveil and map the electronic emissions throughout a base, gaining insight into vulnerabilities. They can also photograph key areas and operations, providing additional valuable intelligence for any adversary.

The incursions at Barksdale began the week of March 9, a spokesperson for the 2nd Bomber Wing at the base told us, offering few details about what happened beyond saying [blah, blah, blah] ...
“Between March 9-15, 2026, BAFB Security Forces observed multiple waves of 12-15 drones operating over sensitive areas of the installation, including the flight line, with aircraft displaying non-commercial signal characteristics, long-range control links and resistance to jamming,” the document stated. “After reaching multiple points across the installation, the drones dispersed across sensitive locations on the base.”

Nonsense.
U.S. USNORTHCOM Tests Anduril Counter-Drone System to Defend U.S. Bases from Drone Threats.Read more at source above.U.S. Northern Command (USNORTHCOM) has completed the first field certification of its mobile Counter-small Unmanned Aerial System (C-sUAS) fly-away kit, following a week-long evaluation at Minot Air Force Base, North Dakota. Between October 21 and 27, an 11-member operations and technical team successfully engaged over 100 drone targets in realistic scenarios, validating the system’s detection, tracking, and engagement capabilities. The effort, coordinated with the 5th Bomb Wing, marks a milestone in USNORTHCOM’s ongoing push to field flexible counter-drone defenses across the homeland.

The fly-away kit combines multiple technologies into a layered defense network. Its core components include the Heimdal mobile sensor trailer, which provides 360-degree radar, thermal optics, and automated target tracking; the Anvil interceptor system, which uses autonomous drones to shadow and neutralize airborne threats; and the Pulsar electromagnetic warfare effector, capable of detecting, classifying, and denying radio frequency links. Completing the suite is the Wisp AI-enabled infrared sensor, which delivers persistent, full-motion, 360-degree coverage for improved threat identification.
All elements are integrated through Lattice, Anduril’s command-and-control software that fuses data from all sensors, manages engagements, and provides real-time analytics for operators. This unified system gives commanders a complete airspace picture and allows them to apply non-kinetic or kinetic countermeasures depending on the level of threat.
Potential enemy drone incursions over B-52 bases are nonsense? What a stupid comment.
Drones over Barksdale AFB - Ping
Seriously?
So you think Iranians are in America and flying drones over US military bases? I highly doubt that assertion.
China, you dolt.
Ah... So the Chinese military is flying drones over US bases... Sure they are.
"displaying non-commercial [i.e., military] signal characteristics, long-range control links and resistance to jamming,”AND
“After reaching multiple points across the installation, the drones dispersed across sensitive locations on the base.”
What is wrong with you?
It’s likely teenagers who bought drones at their local Walmart... If it truly is China, then America has a serious problem and the inability of America’s military to deal with it would be astounding.
I find it hard to believe that a military who can wage war on any continent in the world, would be stymied by a foreign country with one aircraft carrier.
What bothers me most is our inability to track their origin of arrival and then to track their departure when they leave. I can not imagine our inability to do so.
Whoever built and flew these knew what they were doing, and they seemed specifically engineered to get around our detection and countermeasures.
Were you dropped on your head as an infant or are you just trolling?
Or both?

This isn't just a base with nuclear planes; it's the nerve center for the entire Air Force leg of the nuclear triad.
So... The Chinese military has invaded the United States... Good to know.
“So you think Iranians are in America and flying drones over US military bases? I highly doubt that assertion.”
It could just as easily be rival factions within the military spying on each other.
It would be nice to know more if these are rotary or fixed wing drones. One other possibility is our own IC is testing our facilities in their ability to detect such devices. One more thing, why is this development not classified information. Why would we broadcast to the world that we might be vulnerable at our most secure bases.
