Keir Starmer is reversing his decision to bar the U.S. from using U.K. bases, saying in a social media post late Sunday that he will allow U.S. “defensive” missions aimed at destroying Iranian missile capabilities. “The only way to stop the threat is to destroy the missiles at source, in their storage depots or the launchers which are used to fire the missiles,” Starmer said, after a day of escalating threats against British military, civilian and commercial interests in the Middle East. “The US has requested permission to use British bases for that specific and limited defensive purpose,” he added....

There’s a conversation that’s bubbling just under the surface of pop culture right now that a lot of people are thinking about but very few are willing to say out loud. It centers around a term that used to exist only in uber-rich gossip circles, but now it’s spilling into the mainstream, and for good reason. We’re talking about “yacht girls.” For readers who are not obsessed with influencer lore, the phrase refers to hot young women, mostly professional models or social media influencers, who get invited to layabout on luxury yachts owned by extremely wealthy men. Sometimes the arrangement...

New York University Abu Dhabi creates oral LED alternative designed to regulate appetiteAn enterprising team of scientists in Abu Dhabi have harnessed cutting-edge technology in a long-term quest to provide patients with a "holy grail" alternative to hugely popular weight-loss drugs. The researchers from New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) have developed a tiny ingestible device that emits light and, in doing so, could stimulate nerve cells or neurons in the gut, potentially altering which nutrients are absorbed or affecting whether a person feels hungry. Dr Khalil Ramadi, an assistant professor of bioengineering at NYUAD, who heads the team...

Decision follows US and Israeli strikes on Iran in a rising threat to Gulf oil flowsOpec+ has agreed to increase output by 206,000 barrels per day from April, following one of the alliance’s most consequential meetings in years, held against the backdrop of US and Israeli strikes on Iran and rising threats to Gulf oil flows. The figure falls between the 137,000 bpd base case most analysts had anticipated and the more aggressive increases of 400,000 to 500,000 bpd that had been suggested. “The eight participating countries decided to resume the unwinding of the 1.65 million bpd of additional voluntary...

The official story is real — but incomplete. Operation Epic Fury’s stated goals — eliminating Iran’s nuclear program, destroying its missile arsenal, degrading its proxy networks, and annihilating its navy — are all legitimate grievances rooted in 47 years of Iranian hostility toward the United States. But they are the surface layer of a much deeper strategic play.

It was on the eve of the attack on Iran that I sensed something cataclysmic in the air. Without claiming that the attack on Iran was that thing, it might be the beginning of much more dire things to come that are unleashed by that act. I don’t know, I’m not a prognosticator. What I do know is that within hours of the knowledge of the attack a terrorist entered an Austin bar and committed an act of terrorism. We need to understand, as a society, that there are terrorists scattered all throughout our nation, largely invited in by...

SNIP The comedian added in the Friday footage, “Since the beginning of time, women have been ducking and diving and dodging pregnancy face-first or Pikachu-first. Frankly, they’re exhausted.” SNIP Handler also touched on different forms of female birth control, including the pill. “You think I want to be an adult woman with acne or have mood swings, or get a period that’s so heavy it feels like the Hoover Dam just broke? I don’t,” the talk show host continued. “Everybody already hates women enough. I don’t need my insides to join in on the fun.”

SNIP “Average gas prices in California have stayed below $5 for nearly two years. Trump’s new war is already rattling markets. We’re watching this space. Closely,” Newsom’s press office wrote on X, sparking derision from many. “Time to school the Pajama Boy who runs this account for the Gov – because this isn’t the flex on Trump he thinks it is,” the US Oil & Gas Association, a nonprofit trade association for the domestic oil and natural gas industry, wrote in response before taking the Democrat to task over what it branded Newsom’s mismanagement of California’s natural resources. SNIP California...

Research led by Yoshimi Kishimoto (Setsunan University) and Norie Sugihara (Kanagawa University of Human Services)Yolks Were Blamed For Heart Disease For Decades, But This Major Review Suggests OtherwiseIn A Nutshell-Decades of dietary advice warned against eggs, but a major review of clinical trials and global data finds moderate consumption does not raise heart disease risk for most people. -Eating eggs raised “bad” LDL cholesterol only modestly, while “good” HDL cholesterol rose at the same time, leaving the clinically important ratio between the two unchanged. =Antioxidants in egg yolks, lutein and zeaxanthin, appear to protect cholesterol in the blood from the...

“The dominant reaction from the Left to Trump’s bombing of Iran has been to declare the action illegal, reckless, and unconstitutional.” Shortly after President Donald Trump ordered strikes on Iran, the Left locked into a single talking point: illegal war. Reckless. Idiotic. Betrayal. Forever war. Constitutional crisis. Pick your adjective. The speed and uniformity were almost impressive. Sen. Tim Kaine led the charge, and he did not ease into it. In a graphic posted to X, Kaine asked whether Trump was “too mentally incapacitated” to understand that the United States once had a diplomatic agreement with Iran. He declared the...

'I was terrified,' Wilson said of the latter shoot during an interview with Vanity Fair. 'Before this, I was very much the person who didn't show any skin, ever, at all. 'Even in my day-to-day, like going to the beach with friends, I would not wear a swimsuit.' The star added, 'So it was very, very nerve-racking, but I wanted to do [the shoot] because I wanted to have more confidence in my own body. 'I do feel confident in my own body, but I wanted to prove that confidence to myself, if that makes any sense.' In September last...

I have just been informed that we have destroyed and sunk 9 Iranian Naval Ships, some of them relatively large and important. We are going after the rest — They will soon be floating at the bottom of the sea, also! In a different attack, we largely destroyed their Naval Headquarters. Other than that, their Navy is doing very well! PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP

While Beijing publicly advocates restraint, sustained tensions between the U.S. and Iran serve its strategic interests.Recent heightened tensions between the United States and Iran over Tehran’s repression of nationwide protests and its advancing nuclear program have raised concerns about maintaining peace and stability in the Middle East. U.S. President Donald Trump has ordered key military assets to move into the region, and he may decide on whether to use force within the next few days. At the same time, Washington and Tehran have met indirectly in Oman and agreed that diplomacy on the nuclear issue should continue. Diplomacy is the...

Gavin Newsom complains of “faux outrage” over his comments to a largely black audience in Atlanta about his SAT scores, in which he implied a shared lack of ability. No state makes more of its “enlightened” stance on racial justice than California. But few states do worse. Governor Newsom and his Sacramento claque have embraced reparations for the descendants of slaves. They are also working overtime to preserve affirmative action policies, despite the electorate’s widespread rejection. But Newsom’s racial rhetoric is, as the leftist site Jacobin suggests, nothing more than “pure rhetorical posturing.”

Operations are still underway over and around Iran on Sunday, and the United States and Israel are well on their way to not only owning the skies over Iran, but the waters around it. On that morning, President Trump took to his Truth Social account to inform us that at least nine Iranian navy craft have now found new berths at the bottom of the ocean. The president wrote: I have just been informed that we have destroyed and sunk 9 Iranian Naval Ships, some of them relatively large and important. We are going after the rest — They will...

Gavin Newsom launched a new water policy this week that does almost nothing for water. Perhaps he thinks it will help his nascent presidential campaign. Newsom’s biggest weakness as a presidential candidate is his record. He cannot point to any major achievements after two terms. That’s the real drought his plan aims to address. Newsom called his policy the “most ambitious water plan in California history.” If so, the obvious question is why he waited until the last months of his administration to launch it.
