Why the artificial-intelligence advertising spree could be the last hurrah - like the dot-coms in 2000 OpenAI and Anthropic are losing enormous amounts of money, yet are given valuations as if they were real companies making real profits. During Super Bowl XXXIV on Jan. 30, 2000, 14 of the 61 television advertisements were for internet startups. Perhaps they should have heeded the advice offered by E-Trade's "Waste of Money" ad that year, which featured a dancing monkey and ended with the on-screen punchline: "Well, we just wasted $2,000,000. What are you doing with your money?" That Super Bowl was played...

House Democrats proposed a sugar tax on Thursday that would impose another 3-cent charge per fluid ounce of applicable beverages, amounting to a 72-cent tax on a 24-ounce coffee. The sugar tax would be in addition to other state and local taxes, including Seattle's sugar tax, which amounts to a 1.75-cent-per-ounce tax on distributors of "sweetened beverages." The money would go toward expanding food assistance programs, despite studies showing that it could decrease sales. Rep. Chipalo Street, D-Seattle, and Rep. Alex Ramel, D-Bellingham, recognized this potential outcome when filing House Bill 2734, citing Seattle and other cities with sugar taxes...

The number of Fortune 500 companies willing to publicly disclose their diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) practices has dropped 65 percent in the last year, according to the Human Rights Campaign (HRC). The HRC, likely the most powerful gay and “transgender” lobby in the country, typically keeps track of which companies are doing its political bidding. According to a 2026 report, only 131 Fortune 500 companies in 2026 are participating in HRC’s Corporate Equality Index — the primary measure of corporate ideological compliance for HRC. That is down from 377 Fortune 500 companies in 2025. Part of the decrease, HRC...

It would be a hell of irony if useless preparation for a nonexistent threat simply set us up for a knockout blow from a real one. It has been two weeks since western PA experienced a dump of two feet of snow, the product of the continent-wide storm that was supposed to ravage the nation and throw back civilization 500 years or more. That, needless to say, did not happen, at least outside of Missouri, where it would never be noticed. But there is that two feet of snow. Pennsylvania is in the melt belt, a region in which even...

For many Americans, spirituality is now something to consume rather than commune around. An individual brand rather than a shared discipline, a playlist rather than a practice. Belief remains, but it has been deinstitutionalized, downloaded, and personalized. No priest, sermon, or parking lot scramble required. This is where the revival narrative falls apart. What we are seeing is not a return to shared worship, shared discipline, or shared belief, but Christianity detached from its roots and repackaged for mass consumption. The data confirm this. A recent report from the Cultural Research Center at Arizona Christian University found that the share...

Socialist extremist plans for Los Angeles have been exposed – just as their champion Nithya Raman launches her bid to be Mayor. In a chilling document, the Democratic Socialists of America, of whom Raman is a member, detail their “Program for Los Angeles”, outlining a commitment to disarming police, ending fossil fuel use, closing jails, raising taxes and de-criminalizing drugs. They also vehemently oppose the 2028 Olympics and even want to seize golf courses and convert the land to public housing. Raman, one of three DSA members on LA City council, is an outspoken advocate of defunding the police and...

(It wouldn't be so bad if he weren't such a disagreeable, know-it-all noseyparker. I can't believe most Canadians aren't ashamed of him for creating negative stereotypes about their country.) How to stop YouTube from recommending Jordan Peterson and Ben Shapiro videos? - Google Search Community I'm getting spammed with recommendations and ads for Jordan Peterson and Ben Shapiro videos in my feed. It is INCESSANT. I’ve tried clicking “not interested” and “don’t recommend this channel”, abd “block this channel” and nothing is working. I will NEVER be interested in what either of these people have to say. How do I...

A product of the “Big Beautiful Bill,” Trump Accounts give American children — sorry, illegal aliens, this one is for us — a “tremendous” financial head start on life, providing the means to pay for college or put a down payment on a home, along with exposure to equities, something roughly 1 in 3 Americans currently do not have.

For the Democrats, it’s been a short, slippery slope from demanding Trump’s impeachment to likening him, ICE, and all Republicans to Nazis. Trump “is impeached forever,” declared Nancy Pelosi, voicing an accidental truth after Democrats impeached Trump for his phone call with Ukrainian President Zelensky. What Ms. Pelosi meant to say was that it did not matter whether Trump was or was not convicted, or even if the charges against him had merit. She had left her mark. The stain of impeachment would last forever. That’s what Speaker Nancy Pelosi meant. She laughed and smiled as she asserted that it...

🇺🇸Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem 🇮🇱(2/9/26)[Prayer]A New Study For A New Year: PersonalitiesGenesis 24:28-49 28 And the damsel ran, and told them of her mother's house these things. 29 And Rebekah had a brother, and his name was Laban: and Laban ran out unto the man, unto the well. 30 And it came to pass, when he saw the earring and bracelets upon his sister's hands, and when he heard the words of Rebekah his sister, saying, Thus spake the man unto me; that he came unto the man; and, behold, he stood by the camels at the well....

Patricia Martin, a lawyer turned judge who spent 24 years on the bench, rising to become the top judge in Cook County's Juvenile Court, seemed to have the credentials to be trusted handling the finances of Oscar Lawton Wilkerson as he reached his mid-90s. She had been related to the former Tuskegee Airman and agreed to help. Instead of helping Wilkerson, court records show Martin instead helped herself to his cash, moving money from his accounts and buying bitcoin. Eric Puryear has known Wilkerson his entire life, as his grandfather was Wilkerson's best friend. They trusted Martin to manage the...

Attorney General Pam Bondi has admitted that the Justice Department (DOJ) made mistakes in handling the Jeffrey Epstein files, including errors in redacting sensitive information, according to a letter sent to federal judges. The disclosures, detailed in a court filing in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, come amid mounting scrutiny of the department’s handling of victim privacy and compliance with the Epstein Files Transparency Act. Under the bill, which was signed into law on November 19, 2025, the Justice Department was required to release all unclassified records, communications, and investigative materials concerning Epstein within...

The New Mexico legislature is considering what appears to be an unconstitutional bill, SB17. The bill creates considerable red tape and record-keeping requirements for gun dealers. It also bans the sale of numerous common firearms by simply requiring that dealers be forbidden to process background checks for those firearms. New Mexico requires dealers to run background checks for nearly all firearm sales.Excerpts of the bill from nmlegis.gov:A. Beginning on July 1, 2026, a dealer shall not sell or transfer any of the following firearms, ammunition or devices to a person who is not licensed pursuant to 18 U.S.C. Section 923,...

Democratic Los Angeles City Councilmember Nithya Raman, an avowed socialist, announced Saturday she will challenge her longtime ally, Democratic Mayor Karen Bass, who seeks reelection in June. Raman, an Indian immigrant, has served on the City Council since 2020 after — with backing from the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) — she defeated an incumbent councilmember in the Democratic primary. Bass, a former congresswoman, has served as Los Angeles’s mayor since 2022. She recently came under scrutiny for her response to both the riots against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in mid-2025 and the devastating wildfire which engulfed the city’s...

Daniel Huff, a former White House lawyer, noted in a recent analysis that the drive toward diversity and inclusion in the airline industry has put passengers at risk. In an article for the New York Post, Huff wrote that President Donald Trump was right to rescind diversity efforts at the Federal Aviation Administration. That’s because female and minority pilots — many of whom entered the industry amid a drive toward diversity among pilots — were responsible for half of pilot-error crashes. Despite making up 10 percent of pilots, they were responsible for four out of eight such crashes since 2000....

"Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ" (Phil. 1:2). Nothing you face today is beyond the purview of God’s grace and peace. Paul's wonderful benediction for grace and peace was ever on his heart. He offered it in each of his epistles and expounded on it throughout his writings. Grace is the outpouring of God's goodness and mercy on undeserving mankind. Every benefit and provision you receive is by God's grace. That's why Peter called it "the manifold grace of God" (1 Pet. 1:10). Just as your trials are manifold or multifaceted, so...
