No top White House officials will fly down to Brazil later this month for the U.N. Climate Change Conference (COP30) with President Donald Trump instead preferring to put U.S. domestic energy and job growth first. Trump withdrew from the Paris Climate Agreement for a second time on his return to the White House as promised back in January, as Breitbart News reported. The departure meant U.S. taxpayer dollars stopped going to the U.N.-sanctioned body, much to the despair of climate doomers everywhere. Trump had not been expected to attend a leaders’ summit ahead of the annual U.N. climate conference in...

(JTA) — The excitement in the air is palpable as our neighborhood turns out for Zohran Mamdani. In many ways, we know him well: he’s been our assemblyman for the last four years. In any other world, we would be excited by the possibility of a man like Zohran — an eloquent speaker, attuned to the affordability crisis, relatable despite his family wealth, a first-name figure in the community — rising up to challenge the establishment. But that is not our portion. As Jews of District 36, Zohran’s Assembly district, we live in a world where his tenure and campaign...

This article is part of “Pastors and Prey,” a series investigating sex abuse allegations in the Assemblies of God. A children’s pastor was caught filming girls in a church bathroom in Arkansas. Elders suspended him for a few weeks. In Illinois, a preacher was accused of sexually abusing children. Church leaders sent him to therapy rather than call police. In California, a worship minister went to prison for molesting boys. His congregation threw him a party when he returned. All of these men remained in ministry in the Assemblies of God, the world’s largest Pentecostal denomination. All went on to...

He’s shown up for my Jewish community in profoundly meaningful ways On Kol Nidrei, the evening service that begins Yom Kippur, I found myself at synagogue with Zohran Mamdani. Lab/Shul in Manhattan isn’t your typical synagogue; it’s a laboratory for belonging, where ancient liturgy meets radical inclusion. The service was led by my rabbi, Amichai Lau-Lavie — an Israeli who knows how to fill the room with both grief and hope. Mamdani sat in the front row, with Rep. Jerry Nadler and Comptroller Brad Lander. As Lau-Lavie welcomed them to the space, Nadler and Lander were greeted with respectful applause....

Nothing says 'socialism' like people fleeing from it.This is as true in New York, Illinois, and California as it was in the U.S.S.R., Venezuela, and Cuba. But the prospect of young and dogmatic socialist Zohran Mamdani becoming mayor of New York City has taken the phenomenon to a new level.Mamdani's lead in the polls has narrowed, but he still leads by six points. The majority of New Yorkers have split their votes between disgraced former Gov. Andrew Cuomo and peripatic safety advocate Curtis Sliwa, divving up more than 50% of the vote it would otherwise be if the two united.According to...
