Conservatives have long championed the principle of "peace through strength," a doctrine rooted in the belief that a strong, resolute nation deters aggression and fosters stability. This approach, exemplified by leaders like Ronald Reagan and Menachem Begin, prioritizes military readiness, clear moral conviction, and unwavering support for allies to secure peace without capitulation. Unlike policies that rely on appeasement or concessions, conservatives understand that weakness invites conflict, while strength commands respect. Ronald Reagan: Defeating the Soviet Threat. Not all moisturizers are equal when it comes to scar management, according to new research. Tanja Klotz researches the effects generic moisturizers have on hydration and transepidermal water loss (TEWL) for people with active, linear, widespread or keloid scarring. Normally, water passively evaporates from the skin's surface, but when the skin barrier is impaired by factors like harsh skincare, environmental damage, wounds or scars, the water loss increases, leading to dehydration and increased scar activity. Eight common moisturizing products were tested on normal skin in a scar model, with the findings published in the journal Burns. "We tell recovering patients...

Research has found the first clear evidence that the "good" gut bacteria Bifidobacterium breve in pregnant mothers regulates the placenta's production of hormones critical for a healthy pregnancy. In a study in mice, the researchers compared the placentas of mice with no gut bacteria to those of mice with Bifidobacterium breve in their gut during pregnancy. Pregnant mice without Bifidobacterium breve in their gut had a higher rate of complications including fetal growth restriction and fetal low blood sugar, and increased fetal loss. This gut bacteria seems to play a crucial role in prompting the placenta to produce pregnancy hormones...

A supplement of ketones may be the magic bullet that allows patients using weight-loss drugs to avoid the potentially adverse side-effect of a shrinking heart and skeletal muscle, according to a study. In their initial studies, Dyck's team confirmed the expected loss of skeletal muscle, which studies show can account for nearly 40% of the total weight loss. To address the unknowns, the team looked at a natural energy source the body produces: ketones. Ketones are produced by the liver when the body runs low on carbohydrates, typically during fasting or when following a low-carb, or ketogenic, diet. Recent work...

MK Amit Halevi (Likud) issued sharp criticism Sunday evening of the agreement reached to end the war in Gaza, calling it “the opposite of a victory.” He also announced that he will not attend US President Donald Trump’s planned address to the Knesset on Monday. “Even those who believe we were forced to sign this agreement should not celebrate it,” he said. “After the most brutal massacre in our country’s history, after more than a thousand soldiers killed and thousands wounded, Israel is now agreeing to the establishment of a Palestinian state on homeland territories in Gaza, to the internationalization...

ATLANTA — An initiative by insurance companies to reduce high-cost doctor visits could cause physicians to abandon private practice and work for big hospital chains, independent practitioners are warning. They say the trend could drive up patient costs. Cigna implemented a policy last week to flag bills that appear to be too high. The insurance company may reduce payouts by one billing level “when the encounter criteria on the claim does not support the higher-level” payment code, the new policy says. Dr. David Eagle, vice president of the American Independent Medical Practice Association (AIMPA), expects the new cost containment approach...

Imagine passing your group off as a police organization... only to sell your soul, piss off your supporters and endorse the very person who hates cops. It's like the people running things woke up with a bad cheap wine hangover and mixed up a cocktail of TDS and liberal tears to try and get through their day....

At least 27 people have been killed in fierce clashes between Hamas security forces and armed members of the Dughmush family in Gaza City, in one of the most violent internal confrontations since the end of major Israeli operations in the enclave. President Donald Trump is claiming that "left-wing arsonists" have "destroyed and dishonored" the memory of Christopher Columbus, the Italian explorer credited with initiating the European colonization of the Americas. Ahead of Indigenous Peoples' Day on Oct. 13 — a widely accepted alternative to Columbus Day that acknowledges Native Americans' perspective of colonization — Trump shared a lengthy proclamation that sought to reclaim Columbus as "a true American hero" and reestablish his holiday. "Today our Nation honors the legendary Christopher Columbus -- the original American hero, a giant of Western civilization, and one of the most gallant and visionary men to...

A study shows that Urolithin A, a natural compound, can abolish high anxiety in rats by repairing mitochondrial function in their brain cells, specifically in the nucleus accumbens. In recent years, studies have pointed to a link between anxiety and the brain's mitochondria, the cell's energy suppliers which are vital for fueling cells and helping them work correctly. The study explored the anxiety-reducing effects of Urolithin A, a molecule produced by gut bacteria and known to support mitochondrial health. The team gave the only clinically validated, highly pure, proprietary Urolithin A supplement, ("Mitopure,") to two rodent models of high anxiety:...

Hundreds of thousands of Israelis poured into Tel Aviv’s Hostages Square on Saturday night in what everyone present was hoping would be the final vigil on behalf of the hostages taken to Gaza two years ago. Some of the stars of the rally were three American Jews — Steve Witkoff, Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump — who played a role in pushing negotiations between Israel and Hamas over the finish line. Witkoff was visibly emotional. “I dreamed of this night. It’s been a long journey. This is the most powerful sight,” Trump’s Middle East envoy told the crowd. “All of...
