I think if Luther had seen this video, it's entirely possible that he might have kept his 99 problems with the Catholic church to himself. BEHOLD: When you're too woke for Jesus: At the 2025 ELCA Churchwide Assembly, a woman lists all the biblical texts that "say things about women and girls that we now recognize as harmful" and which advance "sexism and the patriarchy." God intends for everyone to flourish. But because...

U.S. — With President Donald Trump's approval ratings showing signs of decline, former Vice President Kamala Harris dutifully stepped forward to launch a speaking tour to remind the nation why Trump was elected president. Harris embarked on a media tour this week to simultaneously promote her new memoir, 107 Days, and help voters across the country remember why they voted for Donald Trump instead of her. "It's important for people to remember why they made this decision," Harris said during one interview. "Remembering is important because of how important it is to remember. And by remembering, we are reminded of...

Every living former chair of the Federal Reserve, as well as a slew of ex-Treasury secretaries and former White House economic advisors, urged the Supreme Court not to allow President Donald Trump to fire Fed Governor Lisa Cook as her lawsuit challenging her removal is pending. Signers included ex-Fed chairs Alan Greenspan, Ben Bernanke, Janet Yellen; ex-Treasury secretaries Robert Rubin, Larry Summers, Hank Paulson, Jack Lew, and Timothy Geithner; and ex-CEA chairs Glenn Hubbard, Greg Mankiw, Christina Romer, Cecilia Rouse, Jared Bernstein, and Jason Furman.

Thomas Lozano was an undergraduate student at Sacramento State in the early 2000s and felt alone. He was a Native American student, a citizen of the Enterprise Rancheria Estom Yumeka Maidu. As Lozano walked the campus, he could not see many of his peers who looked like him. He said he felt isolated.

It has been a while since we have checked in on polar ice. I’m sure you remember the hysteria of a few years ago–Arctic sea ice is melting! Al Gore predicted, in 2009, that the Arctic would be “completely ice-free” by 2014. Far from having disappeared, there are still 1.8 million square miles of ice floating in the Arctic Ocean. The annual Arctic sea ice minimum has arrived once again, and as usual, it provides far less drama than the media headlines would suggest. According to the National Snow and Ice Data Center (NSIDC), Arctic sea ice extent bottomed out...

Greta Thunberg and the members of her freedom flotilla have been blasted by Abba on repeat after radios on board the vessels were hijacked. The Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF), which believes the incident to be the work of an Israeli attack, were subjected to hours of relentless playing of ‘Lay All Your Love On Me’ by the Swedish pop band – in a possible nod to Ms Thunberg’s nationality.

After three and a half years, President Vladimir Putin is having to lean more and more on ordinary Russians to pay for his war in Ukraine. The Russian Finance Ministry on Wednesday said it intends to raise value added tax by two percentage points to 22 percent, part of a three-year plan that aims to plug a rapidly expanding hole in public finances. VAT accounted for more than 15 percent of total government revenue last year. After raising personal income taxes sharply at the start of the year, Putin had pledged there would be no more big changes to the...

Daily Readings from the USCCBHerod the tetrarch heard about all that was happening, and he was greatly perplexed because some were saying, “John has been raised from the dead”; others were saying, “Elijah has appeared”; still others, “One of the ancient prophets has arisen.” Luke 9:7–8Herod the tetrarch, also known as Herod Antipas, ruled the Jews of Galilee for some forty-two years. He began his reign in 2 BC and continued to reign until he was exiled by the Roman Emperor in 37 AD. During his reign, he spent much time in Tiberias, one of the main cities on the...

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — U.S. Rep. James Clyburn, one of 58 Democrats who didn't vote on a resolution to honor Charlie Kirk following his murder in Utah, said Tuesday that he would not vote to esteem Kirk's legacy. Clyburn's comments came while he appeared on CNN, with the long-time member of Congress claiming that honoring the life of someone is different than honoring their legacy. Clyburn lamented Kirk's death while also saying he could not support Kirk's comments regarding race and the conservative activist's long-held opposition to affirmative action. "His life is one thing," Clyburn said while on "NewsNight with...

Two sisters who were caught on video destroying a memorial to assassinated conservative activist Charlie Kirk in Arkansas have resorted to begging for money online after losing their jobs. Kerri and Kaylee Rollo, 23 and 22, were arrested in Bentonville and charged with criminal mischief shortly after footage went viral on social media. Police said Kaylee faces an additional charge of obstruction of governmental operations. In the video, Kerri was heard saying Mr Kirk "lived as he died - promoting violence", as she tore up messages of support and stomped on candles. The 23-year-old was also heard saying "record all...

Several columns ago, I used the phrase, “Thunder without sound,” when writing about our First Lady, Melania Trump. After my wife, two good friends, and I toured Auschwitz, I hope you’ll allow me to reuse that phrase, albeit slightly changed. Auschwitz doesn’t whisper, shout, or mumble; it’s a quiet explosion rocking the foundation of my soul. I walked through our tour with an open mind, allowing it to flow rudderlessly to shape an outline for me to express in a way I hope makes sense. However, to properly share my thoughts, I’ll need to break this down into a few...

NBC News published an article on Tuesday accusing ICE agents of holding a five-year-old autistic girl "to pressure her father to surrender to authorities." Turns out the father actually abandoned his daughter while fleeing authorities and giving agents the middle finger. "ICE held 5-year-old autistic girl in Massachusetts to pressure father to surrender, family says," the article's headline read. Less than nine hours later, NBC News deleted its tweet promoting the story and updated the article to state that ICE agents were simply "with" the girl as they attempted to arrest her father. It also issued a correction that said...

If you have to resort to violence, you’ve lost the debate. The assassination of Charlie Kirk two weeks ago was a case in point. They couldn’t defeat him at debate, so they killed him. Charlie’s slogan, as seen on the white tent he was in when he was shot, says it all, “Prove me wrong.” Anybody who may claim he was “proved wrong” by being shot subscribes to the view that might makes right. I once read about an English tourist visiting China about a 100 years ago recounts how two laborers were having a heated argument in the street....

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in an interview published on Thursday that he would be ready to step down after the war with Russia is over. “If we finish the war with the Russians, yes, I am ready not to go [for elections] because it’s not my goal, elections,” Zelensky told the Axios website in a video interview. “I wanted very much, in a very difficult period of time, to be with my country, help my country. My goal is to finish the war.” Zelensky said he would ask Ukraine’s parliament to organise elections if a ceasefire was reached. A...

As expected, President Donald Trump’s rebuke of the climate change hysteria in front of the pious apparatchiks at the United Nations sent the media into a tailspin, with The New York Times leading the pack. Times climate reporters Somini Sengupta and Lisa Friedman snorted at Trump following his September 23 speech at the U.N. for alleging that the so-called “scientific consensus on global warming was created by ‘stupid people’” and having “lashed out at wind turbines, environmentalists and allies around the world while dismissing the dangers of climate change.” Sengupta and Friedman railed that Trump’s remarks were “an extraordinary diatribe...
