Pastor David E. Taylor, the name-it-and-claim-it faith-healing and prosperity gospel heretic, was arrested yesterday after the FBI enacted coordinated raids on properties connected to his church, the Kingdom of God Global Church, including on his 29,000 square feet “parsonage” that he purchased in 2022 for $8.3M. Along with Taylor, Michelle Branon, 56, the church’s executive director, was also arrested, and the two of them were indicted on charges that they used forced labor to generate millions of dollars in donations. Taylor, who self-identifies as an “apostle”, claims that in 1997 he was “given the keys to the Kingdom of heaven...

I spoke to someone who knows the family of the Minneapolis trans mass shooter. According to this source, it was James (Jim) Allen Westman — not Mary Grace Westman — who was the most affirming of Robert (Robin)’s gender dysphoria. Jim is very liberal, as I saw on his social media before he deleted it. After the divorce, the couple’s five children allegedly looked to him for affirmation on choices their mother wouldn’t support. “Mary Grace was very conservative and Jim was not,” the source says. She had been involved in pro-life activism, having given up her first baby (before...

The ugly video clip from a Dundee housing estate in which a schoolgirl brandished a knife and an axe soon went viral, with rabble rousers such as Elon Musk and Tommy Robinson pitching in to claim the man filming the exchange was a 'migrant'. Others lauded the girl as a 'Braveheart' figure, defending her homeland from a predatory alien, with comparisons quickly cited about the Asian grooming gang scandals of Rotherham and Rochdale. Now we can reveal the man being threatened is a family man who has been living in the UK for four years – and who was accompanied...

Britain faces an epidemic it refuses to name, while Israel, with a larger Muslim minority, has kept it in check. The difference holds urgent lessons. In the days before the establishment of Israel, when Arabs made up nearly 70 percent of the population and Jews were a minority suffering harsh pogroms, even rumors of sexual violence against a Jewish girl were met with the harshest retribution...

President Trump’s tariffs are one of the broadest claims of executive power in American history, taxing imports from anywhere on his personal whim. The problem is he doesn’t have that power under the law or the Constitution, as the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit ruled late Friday in V.O.S. Selections v. U.S. This is a crucial moment for the Constitution’s separation of powers. A 7-4 majority upheld a lower-court decision striking down the tariffs that Mr. Trump imposed under the 1977 International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA). In February he invoked the law to slap taxes on imports...

UK home secretary Yvette Cooper has announced a sharp drop in the number of small boat arrivals in August, hailing it as evidence Labour’s plan to “smash the gangs” is having an effect despite the number of irregular migrants reaching the UK running at record levels so far in 2025. The number of small boats crossing the English Channel fell to 55 last month, down from 75 for the same period last year, the Home Office said on Monday. The figure was the lowest total since 2019 when it stood at 34. Cooper, who is under pressure as protests over...

Recorded across two sessions, ‘The Sermon!’ finds the Hammond organ master Jimmy Smith at his finest for Blue Note.Jimmy Smith wasn’t the first organist in jazz – Fats Waller, Count Basie, and Wild Bill Davis all preceded him – but he was the first notable practitioner of the Hammond B3 and gave the instrument credibility within a jazz setting thanks to Blue Note albums the likes of 1959’s The Sermon! and 1963’s Back At The Chicken Shack. He was also profoundly influential, his jaw-dropping virtuosity spawning a raft of nimble-fingered acolytes who followed in his wake – among them...

The FReeper Canteen Presents...Happy Labor Day! September 1, 2025 HISTORYLabor Day is a national legal holiday that is over 100 years old. Over the years, it has evolved from a purely labor union celebration into a general "last fling of summer" festival. It grew out of a celebration and parade in honor of the working class by the Knights of Labor in 1882 in New York. In 1884, the Knights held a large parade in New York City celebrating the working class. The parade was held on the first Monday in September. The Knights passed a resolution to hold all...

Historically, USGS topographic maps were made using data from primary sources including direct field observations. Those maps were compiled, drawn, and edited by hand. By today's standards, those traditional methods are very expensive and time-consuming, and the USGS no longer has funding to make maps that way.

As the anniversary of September 11 approaches, a lawsuit filed by the families of the victims of the Islamic terrorist attacks against the Saudis has been granted permission to move forward. Saudi Arabia along with Qatar and Iran were the three Islamic terrorist states seen as most complicit in September 11. One of the big missing pieces of the puzzle is the complicity of the FBI in covering up the role of Saudi Arabia. During the trial, a video emerged that the FBI had spent a lot of time hiding of Omar Al-Bayoumi, a Saudi agent, filming key landmarks in...

The Trump administration is continuing its talks with trading partners despite a US appeals court ruling that most of President Trump’s tariffs are illegal, US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer said on Sunday. “Our trading partners, they continue to work very closely with us on negotiations,” he said in an interview on Fox News’ “Fox & Friends.” “People are moving forward with their deals, regardless of what this court may say in the interim.” Greer did not say which countries the US was still in talks with, but said he had spoken with one trade minister on Saturday morning. The ruling...

Ukraine has started making a new cruise missile said to be capable of carrying a 1,000 kg warhead with a range of 1,800 miles, according to its defense minister. The minister declined to discuss the missile further, saying that more details would be disclosed "when the right time comes." But his announcement comes a day after other sources in Ukraine reported on its specifications. Efrem Lukatsky, an Associated Press photographer, published an...
