MPs have clashed over issues including the role of doctors in assisted dying as they debate proposed changes to a bill which would legalise the practice in England and Wales. The legislation would allow terminally ill adults who are expected to die within six months to seek help to end their own life. The bill passed its first stage in the Commons last November – but since then the details have been pored over and dozens of amendments added by both sides. Further changes being considered by MPs include ensuring there is no obligation on anyone to provide assistance in...

New Jersey Transit train engineers went on strike Friday, leaving an estimated 350,000 commuters in New Jersey and New York City to seek other means to reach their destinations or consider staying home. The walkout comes after the latest round of negotiations on Thursday didn’t produce an agreement. It is the state’s first transit strike in more than 40 years and comes a month after union members overwhelmingly rejected a labor agreement with management. “We presented them the last proposal; they rejected it and walked away with two hours left on the clock,” said Tom Haas, general chairman of the...

MALVERN, Pa.—Jonathan Stewart was into his fourth hour overseeing the planes flying near Newark, N.J., when he noticed two aircraft speeding nose-to-nose on his radar scope. A business jet that had departed the Morristown airport was heading toward another small plane that had taken off from nearby Teterboro, a hub for corporate flying. A midair collision was potentially seconds away with planes flying at the same altitude. The veteran air-traffic controller had been scribbling callsigns for the planes and flight information in a notebook, worried that radar and radio communication might fail as they had days earlier. After recognizing the...

"Yeah they have a proposal, but more importantly, they know they have to move quickly or something bad, something bad is going to happen," Trump said. “I still feel that Puffy’s gonna be all right and have a fair shot at it, because Puffy didn’t — he’s not a dummy,” Knight said Tuesday evening, while calling into NewsNation’s “CUOMO.” “I’m quite sure somebody’s going to talk to those jurors and convince one or two of them — that’s all you need, is one,” he told host Chris Cuomo. “So, at the end of the day, it’s going to be a real exciting situation, but I think he’s going to be all right.” Cuomo asked Knight, who is serving a 28-year prison sentence in California for voluntary...

Judicial Watch made history last month when new developments in landmark legal actions led to the inactivation, processing, or removal of more than five million ineligible names from voter rolls nationwide. “Judicial Watch’s clean-up of over five million dirty names from voter rolls is a historic achievement for clean elections,” said JW President Tom Fitton. “I have no doubt that Judicial Watch’s election integrity heavy lifting helped stop the steal in 2024. But there are millions of more names to be removed from voter rolls.”

The fix appears to be in for two court cases against President Donald Trump’s tariffs, according to a very knowledgeable source. Last month, five domestic businesses filed a lawsuit in a little known trade court in New York challenging Trump’s tariffs, arguing they have to rely on imported goods that are not reasonably available to them in the U.S. In his April 2 executive order imposing a set of reciprocal tariffs, Trump declared a national emergency, calling trade deficits a threat to the nation’s national security and economy. Trump’s tariffs are central to his economic agenda and designed to reduce...

U.S. — Home Depot has begun rolling out self-deportation kiosks so local day laborers hanging around outside their stores can conveniently deport themselves for a nominal fee. "We are always looking for new ways to serve our customers, and Mexican day laborers are among our most loyal," said Home Depot CEO Dave Depot. "That's why we're proud to announce a partnership with Immigration and Customs Enforcement to make deportation a breeze." Illegal aliens say they're so excited to deport themselves that they would have considered lining up early if they weren't already loitering in Home Depot parking lots every day....

A U.S. judge in New Mexico on Thursday dismissed trespassing charges against dozens of migrants caught in a new military zone on the U.S.-Mexico border, marking a setback for Trump administration efforts to raise penalties for illegal crossings. Chief U.S. Magistrate Judge Gregory Wormuth began filing the dismissals late on Wednesday, ruling migrants did not know they were entering the New Mexico military zone and therefore could not be charged, according to court documents. Assistant Federal Public Defender Amanda Skinner said Wormuth dismissed the charges against all migrants who made initial court appearances on Thursday. The migrants still face charges...

🇺🇸Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem 🇮🇱(5/16/25)[Prayer]Water, Rivers, and Streams in the BibleGenesis 16Hagar and Ishmael 16 Now Sarai, Abram’s wife, had borne him no children. But she had an Egyptian slave named Hagar; 2 so she said to Abram, “The Lord has kept me from having children. Go, sleep with my slave; perhaps I can build a family through her.” Abram agreed to what Sarai said. 3 So after Abram had been living in Canaan ten years, Sarai his wife took her Egyptian slave Hagar and gave her to her husband to be his wife. 4 He slept with...

There are a lot of bitter people in Washington now that Donald Trump is president, and probably none are more bitter than fired former FBI director, James Comey. So it's not surprising to hear that he's trying to undermine the president; he has been through various swampy means ever since his unceremonious exit from that office. He's also not wrapped very well, as I argued here, and does weird things. Now he's being investigated for a veiled death threat against President Trump. According to commentator Steve Guest: Steve Guest @SteveGuest BREAKING: Former FBI Director James Comey just posted on Instagram...

@glennbeck I’LL BE DAMNED IF I’M GOING TO SEND MY TAXPAYER DOLLARS TO CALIFORNIA BECAUSE THEY DIDN’T HAVE THE BALLS OR BRAINS TO STAND UP. Who could have guessed that putting ILLEGALS on the state’s Medi-Cal plan would make enrollment costs skyrocket and the state’s budget collapse? It’s not Trump’s tariffs. IT’S THE LEFTIST GOVERNMENT’S INSANE POLICIES. Now, Newsom is trying to save face by freezing the enrollment of illegals…for the FULL plan only. Limited plans? Illegals can still take taxpayer money from those! Already enrolled? Just keep taking Californians’ hard-earned tax dollars! Ever wonder why Democrats NEVER just abandon...

No one is going to defend you for free if you are not willing to fight for yourself. About ten years ago, I spoke with a friend from Austria. They were visiting the U.S. and we had the typical "Second Amendment" conversation that we usually have with Europeans. Then we talked about NATO and how Europe has been riding for free, i.e. very low, if any, military spending. I politely pressed them and they admitted that they couldn't afford all that "free stuff" if they had to build their military. And then the lady joked about depending on the U.S....

Cannes (France) (AFP) – Hollywood heavyweights Joaquin Phoenix, Pedro Pascal, Riz Ahmed and Guillermo del Toro have added their names to a letter condemning the film industry's silence on what it called "genocide" in Gaza, the organisers confirmed Friday. The petition, signed by more than 370 actors and filmmakers, also denounced Israel's killing of Fatima Hassouna, the young Gaza photojournalist featured in the documentary "Put Your Soul in Your Hand and Walk", which premiered at the Cannes film festival Thursday. The organisers of the letter said the French actor Juliette Binoche, who is chairing the jury at Cannes, also added...

The world is on the brink of a climate apocalypse—one caused not by gradual greenhouse emissions but by a sudden exchange of nuclear weapons, a possibility made more salient by the current conflict between India and Pakistan. While the long-term effects of emissions are uncertain, we know that a nuclear war would result in an immediate nuclear winter. When we think about nuclear apocalypse, we tend to think of the immediate effects: thermonuclear explosions that incinerate cities and vaporize populations. But the worst consequences unfold long after the weapons have detonated. A major thermonuclear exchange would shroud the atmosphere in...
