President Trump proclaims his tariffs will bring manufacturing jobs back to the U.S. Good luck finding workers to fill them. A common lament among employers, especially manufacturers, is they can’t find reliable, conscientious workers who can pass a drug test. Single women might commiserate: A good worker, like a good man, can be hard to find these days. Blame government, which showers benefits on able-bodied people who don’t work while at the same time subsidizing college degrees that don’t lead to productive employment. The result is millions of idle men and millions of unfilled jobs—what an economist would call a...

Enez Reuveni, the acting deputy director of Justice’s immigration litigation division, was suspended from duty and had his email terminated in a letter from Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche accusing him of failing to “follow a directive from your superiors.” Reuveni is a 15-year veteran of the Department of Justice and was only promoted to acting deputy director of the immigration litigation division two weeks ago. Accompanying Reuveni on vacation will be his boss, August Flentje, the acting director of...

[Catholic Caucus] MCELROY, SIPE, AND MCCARRICK’S CLONESWill McElroy dismiss these allegations like he did those from Richard Sipe? While living in Coronado, CA from 2009 to 2023, I had the pleasure of befriending and collaborating with the late psychotherapist and researcher, Richard Sipe, of nearby La Jolla. His letter of July 28, 2016, intended for Pope Francis, who alone has the authority to discipline bishops like those mentioned in his letter, was never acted upon by the Pope, the Apostolic Nuncio to the U.S., or then-Bishop Robert McElroy to whom the letter was legally served.Armed today with similar allegations of abuse...

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) — President Donald Trump said Sunday that he won’t back down on his sweeping tariffs on imports from most of the world unless countries even out their trade with the U.S., digging in on his plans to implement the taxes that have sent financial markets reeling, raised fears of a recession and upended the global trading system. Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump said he didn’t want global markets to fall, but also that he wasn’t concerned about the massive sell-off either, adding, “sometimes you have to take medicine to fix something.”

Audrey Hale, the 28-year-old transgender shooter in Nashville, reportedly wanted to kill children so that she would not be forgotten. According to police, the only concern that she had throughout her “rage storms” was not that she would be called a mass murderer or child killer but a racist. Her primary grievance appeared to be with Creswell Middle School, where she was bullied as a transgender student. However, she dropped that target at the last minute because it had a large black population and she did not want to be thought of as a racist. Hale shot and killed six...

The UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer is all set to declare an end to globalisation and acknowledge that the concept of globalisation has failed millions of voters amid US President Donald Trump’s reciprocal tariff announcement, The Times reported. Since US President Trump announced sweeping reciprocal tariffs on its global trade partners on goods importing to America, UK PM Starmer would address the country for the first time on Monday and is reportedly bound to say that seismic economic effects prove the government must “move further and faster” to improve the supply reforms. Later in the week, UK PM Starmer and...

Our Humane Officers & Emergency Response Team received a call about the bird running loose in Vista last night. The emu will receive medical care while we search for a possible owner. pic.twitter.com/LQSJXWAX20— San Diego Humane Society (@sdhumane) April 3, 2025Yeah, in the San Diego suburbs some poor hurt emu was just wandering around helplessly on the streets. Zimbabwe President Emmerson Mnangagwa has announced he will suspend tariffs on goods imported from the US in an attempt to build a "positive relationship" with President Donald Trump's administration. The move comes days after Trump imposed 18% tariffs on Zimbabwean exports to the US. "This measure is intended to facilitate the expansion of American imports within the Zimbabwean market, while simultaneously promoting the growth of Zimbabwean exports destined for the United States," he said on X. Zimbabwe has had strained diplomatic relations with the US since it adopted a controversial land policy about 25 years ago, and because of its...

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy voiced frustration over the U.S. embassy’s response to a deadly Russian missile strike that killed 18 people, including nine children, in his hometown of Kryvyi Rih. The attack, which struck near a playground and restaurant, injured more than 50 people. While several embassies in Kyiv directly blamed Russia for the attack, Zelenskiy pointed out that the U.S. embassy failed to name Russia in its condemnation. Writing in English on social media platform X, Zelenskiy called the U.S. response "surprisingly disappointing," saying it showed "such a strong country, such a strong people, and yet such a weak...

Prisoners refusing to join radical Islamist gangs are being held in isolation to keep them safe from death threats and attacks. Officers are keeping vulnerable prisoners in segregation units at HMP Frankland in Co Durham to separate them from Islamic extremists, the Times reports. The prison, one of the highest-security jails in Britain, is said to have become so overrun with Islamic gangs that its 'terrorist separation centres', which were built in a bid to stop terrorists from radicalising others, have become defunct. This has caused other prisoners into isolation units as they are believed to be at risk of...

On April 9, the worst offenders will be hit with even tougher measures. Speaking from the White House Rose Garden, Trump proclaimed April 2 as “Liberation Day,” marking a new era of economic independence. He emphasized that this...

Even after President Donald Trump’s executive order, boys are still playing in girls’ sports. Lawmakers need to step up. Even after various states have passed legislation to protect women’s sports and President Donald Trump signed an executive order to enforce federal protections, girls are still being forced to compete against boys. Kim Jones hears “floods” of stories from girls who are forced to compete with, or share inappropriate spaces with, boys who identify as girls. Jones is co-founder of the Independent Council on Women’s Sports (ICONS), a “network and advocacy group” for protecting women’s sports. “Their parents call, and there’s...

The two leaders are expected to discuss US tariffs on Israel, the war in Gaza and Iran’s rapidly growing nuclear program. If the visit does take place, Netanyahu will be the first foreign leader to meet with Trump since he announced plans to impose reciprocal tariffs on dozens of nations. II. Miraculous Union of Human and Divine Laying aside His royal robe and kingly crown, Christ clothed His divinity with humanity, that human beings might be raised from their degradation and placed on vantage-ground. Christ could not have come to this earth with the glory that He had in the heavenly courts. Sinful human beings could not have borne the sight. He veiled His divinity with the garb of humanity, but He did not part with His divinity. A divine-human Saviour, He came to stand at the head of the fallen race, to share in their experience from childhood to...

An Iranian state newspaper has issued a death threat against Donald Trump, as fears grow of war between Iran and the US. Kayhan newspaper is widely regarded as the voice of the most hardline factions in the country’s clerical establishment. Its editor is appointed directly by the supreme leader. However, the death threat sparked outrage in Iran, with political figures warning that it gave the US president a pretext to strike their country. In its “dialogue” column on Saturday, the newspaper wrote: “What’s up with this Donald Trump? Who does he think he is to threaten several countries every day?...
