It took a stinging election defeat for the truth to sink in with Joe Scarborough. And this morning, he was forced to yield to reality. For all his endless--and we do mean endless-wailing about "fascism," and Mika's fearmongering on abortion rights, on today's Morning Joe Scarborough admitted that voters cared less about that, and more about the price of gasoline and groceries. Scarborough wondered out loud to John Avlon: "I talked a lot over two years about fascist rhetoric . . . There were threats of retribution, there was the issue of women's reproductive choices and health, rubbing up against,...

Philippine Vice President Sara Duterte said Saturday she has contracted an assassin to kill the president, his wife and the House of Representatives speaker if she herself is killed, in a brazen public threat that she warned was not a joke. Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin referred the “active threat” against President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to an elite presidential guards force “for immediate proper action.” It was not immediately clear what actions would be taken against the vice president. The Presidential Security Command immediately boosted Marcos’ security and said it considered the vice president’s threat, which was “made so brazenly in...

DOJ issued press release that misrepresented Colorado Springs mayor's involvement.. The FBI referred Colorado Springs Mayor Yemi Mobolade for prosecution for making false statements related to a hate crime hoax intended to boost his candidacy, but the Department of Justice refused to pursue it for racial and political reasons, an FBI official told The Daily Wire. On Nov. 12 the Acting U.S. Attorney for the District of Colorado announced that three of Mobolade’s supporters had been charged with writing the n-word on one of his campaign signs, erecting a burning cross in front of it, and sending video of the...

KYIV, Ukraine (AP) – NATO and Ukraine will hold emergency talks Tuesday after Russia attacked a central city with an experimental, hypersonic ballistic missile that escalated the nearly 33-month-old war. The conflict is “entering a decisive phase,” Poland’s Prime Minister Donald Tusk said Friday, and “taking on very dramatic dimensions.” Ukraine’s parliament canceled a session as security was tightened following Thursday’s Russian strike on a military facility in the city of Dnipro.

A nonprofit drafted a plan to prosecute backers of Donald Trump under Arizona law nearly a year before the state’s Democrat attorney general secured 18 indictments related to Trump’s 2020 campaign. One of the nonprofit’s founders is a former Obama White House staffer who authored books targeting Trump. The organization, the States United Democracy Center, provided a 47-page memo to Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes on July 25, 2023. The memo outlined the potential criminal case against Trump associates and made repeated references to “Trump himself” as part of what it called a criminal “false electors scheme.” Mayes recently said...

Daily Readings from the USCCB“That the dead will rise even Moses made known in the passage about the bush, when he called ‘Lord’ the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob; and he is not God of the dead, but of the living, for to him all are alive.” Luke 20:37–38Jesus gives this response to some of the Sadducees who question Him about the resurrection of the dead. The Sadducees did not believe in the resurrection of the body, whereas the Pharisees did. Thus, the Sadducees asked Jesus about the resurrection of the body using...

For leftists who hate the free exchange of information on Elon Musk’s X, it’s paradise; for the rest of us, it’s the funniest thing ever (and kind of sad, too). I got curious about Bluesky, the social media platform that Democrats saw as their refuge once Elon Musk had the bad taste to turn X from a censorious leftist redoubt into a free speech platform. Today, I set up an account there, and I was absolutely dazzled. This is leftism unhinged, although for the real purists, like spoiled (and very rich) Hollywood brat, Rob Reiner, Bluesky is still too polluted...

On Wednesday, a Washington woman was arrested for scamming businesses out of thousands of dollars through an ongoing fraudulent racial discrimination scheme in which she allegedly would walk into a business, tell staff she was discriminated against, and then claim that management said she was owed money as a result. Jasmine Latrice Willie, 32, known as the "Chicken Scam Lady," has been booked into Pierce County Jail on charges including multiple counts of theft and organized retail theft. She is being held on a $200,000 bail, according to jail records. Lakewood Police arrested Willie on outstanding warrants, which included four...

BEVERLY HILLS, CA — Comedian and former longtime Tonight Show host Jay Leno, who fell 60 feet down a hill last weekend, was expected to make a full recovery until he was attacked by an angry chihuahua that made him step on a rake, which knocked him into the street where he was hit by an OmniTrans bus. Leno was said to be in good spirits after the accident, which continued a trend of horrifying incidents that he has endured in recent years. "Eh, what are you going to do?" Leno said as his usual upbeat self. "The dog wasn't...

For many decades, the left in America has interpreted the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution in a manner that is inherently hostile to religion, particularly to the Christian faith. An example of the left’s adversarial interpretation of the separation of church and state is the recent decision by U.S. district judge John W. deGravelles, who has ruled that the Ten Commandments are not to be displayed in Louisiana’s public schools. He has declared the public display to be a coercive establishment of religion. It is hard to overemphasize the importance of Judge deGravelles’s ruling, following as it does the...

The City of Los Angeles declared itself a sanctuary city in advance of the second Trump presidency, which would bar city cooperation with immigration enforcement and providing of immigrant data to the federal government. However, the city’s fiscal weakness combined with its reliance on federal funding for migrant services could leave it short on funds if Trump withholds federal funding to compel deportation compliance. The city’s new ordinance — passed unanimously by city council — prohibits the use of city resources from being used for immigration enforcement or cooperating with federal authorities engaged in immigration enforcement. The ordinance also bans...

For a host of reasons, it became convenient for progressives to suggest that large numbers were fleeing Florida in search of a better life. When Florida governor Ron DeSantis was a GOP presidential frontrunner, liberal Democrats dug up every scrap of information suggesting he was an ineffective governor, noting that thousands were fleeing his state as a result of his supposedly poor governance. When Trump became the GOP nominee, the attack on Trump’s adopted home state continued. Hundreds if not thousands of articles were generated implying that Trump’s adopted home state was such a disaster that there was a mass...

MSNBC on Friday changed its headline to a story on Laken Riley, the 22-year-old Georgia nursing student who was murdered by an illegal immigrant earlier this year, after it was met with widespread outrage on X. The initial headline to the opinion piece, written by legal analyst Danny Cevallos, was “Laken Riley’s Killer Never Stood a Chance.” That was altered on Friday to “The Guilt of Laken Riley’s Killer Was Never in Doubt.” MSNBC’s story was posted a day after Jose Ibarra, a 26-year-old Venezuelan gangster who entered the U.S. illegally, was found guilty of murdering Riley in February. Ibarra...

Russian President Vladimir Putin has claimed that the mass deployment of the Oreshnik intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) could rival the destructive power of nuclear weapons, highlighting its precision and strategic potential. During a meeting with military officials, defense industry representatives, and missile system developers in Moscow on Friday, Putin said the Oreshnik is not only an ICBM and a means of mass destruction but also a high-precision weapon. "I would like to emphasize one more aspect here. The Oreshnik missile system is not just an effective hypersonic weapon. Due to its striking power, especially when used en masse and in...

House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan on Friday instructed Attorney General Merrick Garland, and Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas to keep their records related to the border crisis, as they prepare to leave office next year. The requests were the latest signal that the committee plans to continue its investigations into the Biden-Harris administration's alleged failures. The committee sent requests to officials in the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) last week. Jordan expressed concern in the letters that the departments would purge the documents, communications, and information that the committee has repeatedly requested when they...
