FULTON COUNTY, Ga. - The U.S. Supreme Court has granted Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis an extension to respond to former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows' attempts to move his case in the Fulton County election interference investigation to federal court. Meadows, who served as top aide to former President Donald Trump, asserted that he stands a better chance of prevailing in a federal jury trial compared to proceedings in the Fulton County Superior Court. His legal team contends that a recent Supreme Court ruling on presidential immunity could bolster his case. [snip] Willis previously had a...

Explanation: Forget X-ray vision — imagine what you could see with gamma-ray vision! The featured all-sky map shows what the universe looks like to NASA's Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope. Fermi sees light with energies about a billion times what the human eye can see, and the map combines 12 years of Fermi observations. The colors represent the brightness of the gamma-ray sources, with brighter sources appearing lighter in color. The prominent stripe across the middle is the central plane of our Milky Way galaxy. Most of the red and yellow dots scattered above and below the Milky Way’s plane are...

His disdain is palpable. Singapore's history taught its leaders early that hardcore rule of law and equality of opportunity, not equality of results, was the way to succeed. Elon Musk spotted this video on X (Twitter) featuring Lee Hsien Loong, the recently retired prime minister of Singapore, and couldn't help sharing: Elon Musk @elonmusk X-Twitter WisdomWisdom is a good word for it, because left unsaid, it's also about experience. Who is Lee Hsien Loong? He's the senior, or emeritus, prime minister of Singapore, the third in the nation's history, and the son of Singapore's founding father, the great Lee Kuan...

The pursuit of a cure for Alzheimer's disease is becoming an increasingly competitive and contentious quest with recent years witnessing several important controversies. In July 2022, Science magazine reported that a key 2006 research paper, published in the prestigious journal Nature, which identified a subtype of brain protein called beta-amyloid as the cause of Alzheimer's, may have been based on fabricated data. One year earlier, in June 2021, the US Food and Drug Administration had approved aducanumab, an antibody-targeting beta-amyloid, as a treatment for Alzheimer's, even though the data supporting its use were incomplete and contradictory.

In a new study published Thursday in the journal Science, researchers pieced together the chemical identity of the asteroid that fueled the planet’s fifth mass extinction event. Sixty-six million years ago, the story of life on Earth took a dramatic turn when an asteroid collided with what’s now the Yucatán Peninsula in Chicxulub, Mexico. The aftereffects of the collision resulted in the extinction of an estimated 75% of animal species, including most dinosaurs except for birds. But practically nothing of the asteroid itself remains. In a new study published Thursday in the journal Science, researchers pieced together the chemical identity...

Another hole in the Left’s already tattered Walz “America’s dad” narrative. When Kamala Harris picked Tim Walz as her running mate, Reuters informed us that he was a “plain speaker from the American heartland to help win over rural, white voters.” That’s what the Harris-Walz campaign wants us to think, but it has quickly become a virtually impossible narrative to sustain. Now, a retired Minnesota police lieutenant has shot another hole in the left’s already tattered Walz “America’s dad” narrative, and shown yet again how far left the Leftist Next Door really is. Fox News reported Thursday that retired Minnesota...

(Aug. 16, 2024) — On or about August 4, 2024, Zach DeGregorio, host of the program, “Wolves and Finance,” uploaded a video to his YouTube channel titled, “Who is Kamala Harris?” which, among other things, questioned whether Harris is a “natural born Citizen” as required by the U.S. Constitution for the president and commander-in-chief. Harris became the presumptive 2024 Democrat presidential nominee almost immediately after Joe Biden on July 21 withdrew from the race and endorsed her. To that point, according to NBC News, Harris was the least popular person to hold the office since its polling began. On Wednesday,...
