A top Russian general has been formally dismissed from his post after being arrested on bribery charges in May, according to Russian state media. Lt Gen Vadim Shamarin was arrested amid a wider crackdown on corruption in the defence ministry and was accused of taking "a particularly large bribe" from a telecommunications company. Prior to his arrest he had served as deputy chief of the army’s general staff overseeing the signals corps and military communications. Prosecutors have accused him of taking bribes between April 2016 and October 2023 to ensure an increase in orders from the company's factory. A military...

WASHINGTON, July 18 (Reuters) - Green groups are split over whether President Joe Biden should step aside for another Democrat in the U.S. election, with some concerned his weakening polling against fossil fuel booster Donald Trump could hamper turnout and jeopardize his climate wins. Biden, 81, is under pressure and scrutiny from some lawmakers, donors and activists to drop his reelection campaign in the wake of a disastrous presidential debate performance this month that renewed questions about his mental fitness. Environmental groups are anxious at a potential second Trump administration, after his 2017-2021 term brought sweeping roll-backs of environmental regulation...

50 And one of them smote the servant of the high priest, and cut off his right ear. 51 And Jesus answered and said, Suffer ye thus far. And he touched his ear, and healed him.

The beauty and elegance of Judaism lie in its masterful fusion of the rational and the irrational, creating a blended religious experience which both excites the intellect and inspires the soul. This duality is not a contradiction, but a sweet melody, composed of reason and enriched by faith. Through our submission to divine mysteries and our commitment to irrational mitzvot as acts of devotion we transcend the limitations of human understanding, allowing faith to soar beyond the confines of logic and into the boundless realm of the infinite. The halachot of the parah adumah comprise the quintessential illogical ritual. There...

Anita Dunn, senior adviser to President Joe Biden, is the reported “fall guy” among the president’s closest advisers for his infamous debate performance. Democrats are in disarray, and many appear ready to cast Biden aside as the party’s nominee. Biden, whom Special Counsel Robert Hur described as “an elderly man with a poor memory,” took ownership of his poor debate performance and vowed to do better next time. Convicted felon Hunter Biden, however, accused Dunn of “setting Mr. Biden up for failure in the debate and for curbing his public appearances,” the New York Times reported:

The mounting pressure from several close friends and congressional leaders will persuade President Joe Biden to drop out of the presidential race as soon as this weekend, several top Democrats told Axios. The outlet noted that privately, Biden “resigned to mounting pressure, bad polls, and untenable scrutiny making it impossible to continue his campaign,” a Democratic source said. Top leaders of the party, his friends, and donors believe that Biden does not have a shot at winning and “can’t change public perceptions of his age and acuity” (via Axios): The president is being told that if he stays in, former...

RICHMOND. Va. (AP) — The Virginia State Board of Elections on Tuesday certified the apparent narrow defeat of Republican Rep. Bob Good, one of America’s most conservative congressmen, to a challenger endorsed by former President Donald Trump in the state’s June 18 primaries. The board’s unanimous vote to certify the results does not end the matter, though. Good, who chairs the hard-right House Freedom Caucus in Congress, has said he will seek a recount now that the state has declared his opponent, state Sen. John McGuire, the winner of the primary in Virginia’s 5th Congressional District.

Kamala Harris has suffered a blow in a poll that looked at how alternative Democratic candidates would do in swing states. There have been calls for U.S. President Joe Biden to be replaced as the Democratic candidate since the world watched his poor performance in his debate with Donald Trump on June 27. Many have assumed the vice president would be the obvious choice, but a new poll shows she doesn't fare as well as others, and she wasn't among the four who performed best. Analytics company BlueLabs carried out research to determine who would increase the number of people...

Perhaps the toxic combination of dementia and casual racism will serve as the impetus for Democrats to finally cast Old Joe aside. As The Gateway Pundit reported, Joe Biden sat down for an interview and announced that he had given an interview to BET News stating that he would reconsider his decision to run if a doctor diagnosed him with a “medical condition.” “If I had some medical condition that emerged, if somebody, if doctors came to me and said, you got this problem and that problem,” Biden told interviewer Ed Gordon. But the interview quickly turned into a total...

Milwaukee CNN — Donald Trump will pull off his greatest feat yet as Joe Biden confronts his darkest hour. The ex-president, 78, will accept the Republican nomination Thursday, advancing one of the most stunning comebacks in political history after his bid to steal the 2020 election, an unprecedented criminal conviction and an assassination attempt. Biden, 81, is meanwhile being rocked by a Democratic rebellion. Concerns about whether he can again defeat his 2020 opponent have boiled back up amid lawmakers’ concerns about his health and cognitive state and despair over his chances of blocking the extreme possibilities of a second...

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Five minutes after news broke that President Biden has been diagnosed with COVID, Democrat party leaders were forced to make the difficult decision to place Biden on hospice care. "We just want Joe to be comfortable with the short time he has left," explained Senator Chuck Schumer. "We spent a long, hard thirty seconds deliberating over what to do, and we all agreed this is for the best." President Biden reportedly resisted the idea of being placed on hospice, but Democrat leaders assured the doctors that he was demented and didn't know what he was saying....

KYIV, Ukraine (AP) – Ukraine’s army has pulled out from the village of Urozhaine in the eastern Donetsk region, an official said Thursday, surrendering another front-line position as Russian forces blast Ukrainian defenses in a relentless onslaught. The village was reduced to rubble which “made it impossible to hold the positions there,” Nazar Voloshyn, a spokesperson for local ground forces, told The Associated Press in a written message. He did not say when the pullout occurred. Russia seized Urozhaine in the early days of the war that began after Russia’s full-scale invasion of its neighbor in February 2022. Ukrainian troops...

Ford Motor will expand production of its large Super Duty trucks to a Canadian plant that was previously set to be converted into an all-electric vehicle hub. The new plans include investing about $3 billion to expand Super Duty production, including $2.3 billion at Ford’s Oakville Assembly Complex in Ontario, Canada, Ford said Thursday. Ford said the Canadian plant, which is expected to come online in 2026, will add annual capacity of roughly 100,000 units of the highly profitable pickups. The announcement comes weeks after Farley said full electrification of “big, huge, enormous” vehicles such as Ford’s Super Duty trucks...

“So I’ve talked on this show many times, and I thought that Trump was viewed by his supporters as a theological figure, not a secular figure. And of course, him being within an inch of having his head blown off is, to them, further proof that they were right, that God is protecting him,”

The local police officer who was hoisted up to the edge of the roof and spotted former President Donald Trump’s would-be assassin is not to blame for the carnage that unfolded, Butler Township Commissioner Edward Natali said during an appearance on Breitbart News Daily, explaining that the mainstream media are not accurately telling the story of what actually happened. The news has been inundated with stories of an unnamed local police officer who encountered the Thomas Crooks prior to the shooting, largely placing blame on that officer. But Natali said that is not fair, nor is the story accurate. He...
