RICHMOND. Va. (AP) — The Virginia State Board of Elections on Tuesday certified the apparent narrow defeat of Republican Rep. Bob Good, one of America’s most conservative congressmen, to a challenger endorsed by former President Donald Trump in the state’s June 18 primaries.
The board’s unanimous vote to certify the results does not end the matter, though. Good, who chairs the hard-right House Freedom Caucus in Congress, has said he will seek a recount now that the state has declared his opponent, state Sen. John McGuire, the winner of the primary in Virginia’s 5th Congressional District.

Was Good bad?
Good was Good, then Good went Bad.
This was the odd primary where Bob Good should have been the “MAGA” candidate … but he made the colossal, retarded blunder of supporting Ron DeSantis in the GOP primaries against Trump.
Good was good until he went against Trump and endorsed Desanctimonious for Pres.
CHOICES HAVE CONSEQUENCES
John McGuire is a good solid conservative. I’ve seen him putting up his own campaign signs. Big ones. And I’ve seen him take them down the day after the election.
It’s a shame about Goode. I was leaning DeSantis in the primary, but mainly because he could serve for 8 years. Trump is sending a message, which I get, but he’s made peace with DeSantis.
It got even worse than that the closer we got to the primary. He put up a lot of "Trump/Good" signs, and the Trump campaign asked him to stop implying Trump supports him, and to stop using them. Good gave the Trump campaign the double-barreled middle finger, and started using them more often, including handing those signs *only* to attendees of his last rallies.
Met Good a couple of times, and he's kind of an arse. Don't really know McGuire, but I voted for him.
Which candidate did AIPAC endorse and spent money on? That’s the real question.
Which matters more, benefit to the Country or benefit to Trump?
It's actually a tough question given the circumstances, one that to my mind challenges Trump himself. His choice of JD Vance as VP speaks to that larger perspective. One wonders about whether he would repeat what he did to Good today. Certainly DeSantis' handling of COVID was superior to Trump's. OTOH, Trump is prefereable to DeSantis as regards foreign policy, not to mention vastly superior political ability to enlist the people and get elected. Whether he will be able to overcome Democrats' use of illegal ballots remains to be seen.
Is this a safe R district?
😂
It is. McGuire shouldn't have any problem.
Go Navy! MAGA!
Goode is not Good. Different people.
Blood Red.
