Voting rights advocates say a GOP push for legislation prohibiting noncitizens from voting is not about creating laws — that’s already prohibited. Yet the U.S. House could vote this week on a Republican bill outlawing noncitizens from voting in federal elections. Critics of the measure say it would aggravate racial disparities and is meant to chill voter turnout among the immigrant community. The bill would require people to provide “documentary proof of U.S. citizenship in order to register to vote in federal elections,” according to the bill summary. Claiming a need for increased election integrity, the GOP has pushed in...

The House of Representatives voted Thursday against a GOP-led effort to fine Attorney General Merrick Garland $10,000 a day until he provided audiotapes of an interview President Joe Biden gave in his classified documents case. Last month, House Republicans voted to hold Garland in contempt for refusing to comply with a request from lawmakers to hand over the audio of Biden's interview with Department of Justice (DOJ) special counsel Robert Hur. On Wednesday, GOP Representative Anna Paulina Luna introduced the resolution that would have imposed the fine on Garland until he complied with a congressional subpoena. However, Luna's measure failed...

Big Boy Presser The Washington Free Beacon compiled some of the best—that is, most concerning—highlights from President Joe Biden's Thursday night "big boy" press conference, during which the octogenarian leader vowed to stay in the race. Biden said he's "taken three significant and tense neurological exams." He failed to complete the sentence without stumbling through it. It was Biden's first solo press conference in Washington, D.C., since 2022.

What happens to Biden's $92.1 million war chest if Biden is replaced and Harris isn't the nominee? This is really the 800 pound gorilla in the room the mediacrats refuse to discuss.

Does China sense weakness in the White House? In recent days Chinese troops have been sent to Belarus for military exercises, dozens of Chinese military aircraft have been threatening Taiwan, and four Chinese military vessels were even detected off the coast of Alaska. So why has China decided to become so aggressive all of a sudden? Right now, Joe Biden is facing endless questions about his competency, and those around him are focused on fighting for his political survival. So could foreign adversaries such as China use this window of opportunity to do things that they may not normally attempt...

A larger Mag 6.4 earthquake tripped offshore of Seattle WA last night. It is the latest in a small swarm of Mag 4, Mag 5, and now Mag 6 earthquakes that began two days in the Cascadia Fault Zone that runs from British Columbia south to Northern California. The Cascadia Fault is regularly hit with Mag 8 (average interval 350 years) and occainsional Mag 9 (interval about 580 years) earthquakes. The last very large killed thousands of native Indians up and down the Washington and Oregon coastline in January 1700, and hundreds more in Japan from its tsunami waves.

If President Joe Biden‘s goal in tonight’s press conference were to avoid being outed from office through the 25th Amendment, he would have succeeded. But in trying to save his campaign, he utterly failed. Biden clearly showed he is not completely non compos mentis. In general, he is aware of what is going on, and when he isn’t in a bad spell, he can essentially keep track of policy. What he did not come close to doing, though, is to convince anybody with half a brain that he will be up for the job for four more years. Biden looked...

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, one God. Amen. This is Bishop Mari Emmanuel addressing our beloved faithful. Whoever you are and wherever you are, we need to understand that we need to be always thankful to our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ of Nazareth. For whatever trials and tribulations we go through, we are carrying the cross. Let us not forget that at all. The Lord Jesus said to us, if you do not carry your cross every day and follow me, you are not worthy to be my disciple....

It has long been a generally accepted fact that western central banks continually attempted to manipulate gold and silver prices in the financial markets. For years, they conspired to artificially suppress the price of gold, pushing it lower by selling short massive numbers of gold futures contracts. Well, more evidence of this came to light just this past week – the last week of April/first week of May. And along with it came some pretty convincing indications that western central banks no longer wield sufficient financial clout to enable them to keep gold and silver prices down. China is the...

(RNS) — The Rev. John Parks was taking his first sabbatical in 40 years of ministry when he got a call from his church’s accountant with some bad news. Church Mutual, the church’s insurance company, had dropped them. “This does not make sense,” Parks, the pastor of Ashford Community Church in Houston, recalls thinking at the time. “We’ve never filed a claim.” Five months and 13 insurance companies later, the church finally found replacement coverage for $80,000 per year, up from the $23,000 they had been paying. “It’s been an adventure,” said the 69-year-old Parks from his home in Houston,...

Seoul City councillor Kim Ki-duck argued women’s increased participation in the workforce over the years had made it harder for men to get jobs and to find women who wanted to marry them. He said the country had recently “begun to change into a female-dominant society” and that this might "partly be responsible for an increase in male suicide attempts”. South Korea has one of the highest suicide rates among the world’s rich countries. The report, published on the city council’s official website, showed that the number of suicide attempts along the river had risen from 430 in 2018 to...

"I can live with Donald Trump winning," is what elected Democrats privately admit to New York Times columnist and Vox cofounder Ezra Klein, in discussions that are so far off the record that Klein's notes have been tucked away in that Indiana Jones warehouse."

Community members are calling for greater transparency after it became more widely known that the pastor of Eternal Church in Fort Mill, South Carolina, is a registered sex offender. Don Logan, who has been pastor of the non-denominational church since 2015, was convicted of a child sex abuse charge in 1997. The church had been associated with the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) but left the denomination in 2009. Dana Cummings, who formerly attended the church, told Fort Mill Sun that she and her husband became aware of Logan’s status as a sex offender after receiving a cryptic email about...

With the Republican National Convention slated for next week in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, all eyes are on who former President Donald Trump will select as a running mate. Trump recently told reporters he had narrowed his vice presidential shortlist to a handful of possibilities. However, Trump's campaign has, on more than one occasion, cautioned that anyone "claiming to know who or when President Trump will choose his VP is lying, unless the person is named Donald J. Trump.” ... Doug Burgum... J.D. Vance... Elise Stefanik... Marco Rubio... Tim Scott... Tom Cotton... Ben Carson... Byron Donalds... Tulsi Gabbard... Kristi Noem...
