We are kind of used to bears here in the Great Land. Bears, and other big critters like moose, have always been here, and we are used to living around them. That's relevant at the moment, as the other day a friend of ours who lives back in the hills away from the highway sent us a photo of about a 9-inch wide print of a grizzly that had walked through the snow right next to their garage; yes, our bears are waking up, and they are hungry. But in the lower 48, most folks don't live around these enormous...

U.S. officials say American intelligence agencies had gathered information in recent weeks that ISIS was planning an attack in Moscow - but the warnings were dismissed by Russia's President Putin who described them as 'provocative'. A U.S. intelligence official described how American agencies learned how a cell of ISIS based in Afghanistan was planning an attack in Moscow and shared the information with Russian officials. Putin dismissed the alerts as an attempt to intimidate Russians. U.S. officials say that the information was privately shared as recently as three days before gunmen burst into a large concert hall on Friday night,...

Landlords are now beating squatters at their own game. They are learning how to turn the tables by squatting on the squatters. This concept of invading the homes of the squatters was made very public by Mr. Flash Shelton: He became a national inspiration to landlords when he employed bold strategies to evict a mother-daughter grifter team from his mother’s family home. The dramatic event was recorded by Mr. Shelton and uploaded on YouTube. His amateur production of outwitting the mother-daughter grifter team offered a glimpse of what could be accomplished when the injured party (i.e. landlord) refuses to be...

Italy, Vatican, New Theology is on the way. Open to all extraterrestrial beings? An Italian newspaper managed to obtain exclusively a draft of the document regarding what should be the cornerstones of a New Theology that also seems to be inspired by Pope Bergoglio's encyclical "Brothers All" but expanded to a Cosmological version and vision. A text that is circulating confidentially among Jesuits, Dominicans, Franciscans and Benedictines and that also seems to trace Psalm 24 (23) where it is written "of the Lord is the earth and its contents, the universe and its inhabitants," also often quoted by Bishop Balducci....

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said Friday that a shooting and blast targeting a concert hall in the Moscow region will further escalate the conflict in Ukraine. Vucic noted that on March 7, the American Embassy urged citizens not to go shopping in malls in Moscow. “Some other embassies did the same thing later. This means that their services intercepted certain conversations, and they knew this was going to happen. In any case, this is a tragic event that will have incalculable consequences. Some will say they are Islamists, some will say Kyiv. Some will even say that Moscow did it....

Republican lawmakers on Capitol Hill say they’ve uncovered evidence that President Joe Biden’s Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) may have interfered with attempts by government investigators to speak with Patrick Kevin Morris, a crucial witness in Hunter Biden’s tax case. Hunter previously admitted to receiving substantial loans from Morris — a Hollywood entertainment lawyer — to cover about $7 million in back taxes and legal fees.

Pollster Frank Luntz warned that if New York Attorney General Letitia James seizes former President Donald Trump’s assets, it could create victimhood and increase his chances of being elected in 2024. “If they take his stuff, he’s going to say that this is proof that the federal government and the establishment and the swamp in Washington and all the politicians across the country and the attorneys generals and all of this, that this is a conspiracy to deny him the presidency,” Luntz told CNN’s John Berman on Thursday. “He’s going to go up in the polls just like he went...

This week, the Supreme Court heard oral arguments in Murthy v. Missouri. This case focuses on whether govt collusion with social media platforms to censor online speech violates the First Amendment. Justice Samuel Alito questioned "whether it is legal for the US government and big tech to collude to censor speech they don't agree with. I think saying that Facebook and the Federal government should be partners contradicts the words and intent of the First Amendment." Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson disagreed. "My biggest concern is that the First Amendment hamstrings the government in significant ways at the most important times....

James filed judgments against Trump and others in Westchester County, New York, where Trump owns a private estate in Seven Springs and the Trump National Golf Club Westchester, Friday. Turley said that James could find seizing the properties much more difficult than she thought“These properties are partnerships, they have leveraged debt. All of that has to be unraveled,” Turley told Fox Business host Larry Kudlow. “So these aren’t just this, you know, one to one Trump versus James type of equation. So in order to seize that property, she’s going to be pulled into court, there’s going to be challenges....

A woman who was banned from a Planet Fitness gym after photographing a transgender customer shaving in the women’s locker room claims the gym has since assigned a staffer to accompany the person in the ladies-only area — and is telling other women to back off, The Post has learned. Patricia Silva — whose membership was revoked hours after she posted a photo of the unidentified gym-goer to Facebook on March 11 — told The Post on Thursday that Planet Fitness “has assigned an employee to accompany him when he uses the women’s locker room”. “Another friend of mine went...

Yvette Cormier, a Michigan woman who had her membership with Planet Fitness cancelled nine years ago, told DailyMail.com on Thursday that she saw a lot of paralells between her case and that of Patricia Silva. Silva, 67, made headlines last week when she expressed outrage that a 'man with a penis' was carrying out their ablutions in front of her and a...

The fiscal 2024 funding package unveiled early Thursday would funnel $200 million toward the project to build a new FBI headquarters, a plan some House Republicans criticized and previously said should not get more funding. The General Services Administration last year picked Maryland as the home of the new FBI headquarters over Virginia, after a lengthy and high-profile competition over where the new facility would be built. Conservatives raised questions about that selection process and in general have expressed hostility toward the FBI this session, citing in part how the agency has handled politically sensitive investigations. The more than $1.2...

Rand Paul (R-Ky.) has expressed displeasure at the price tag, although he isn’t expected to stand in the way of a vote.A two-week recess for the Easter holiday, s

A UC Berkeley professor is being pilloried after telling students to “get out of the Bay Area” if they want a girlfriend. SNIP “If you want a girlfriend, get out of the Bay Area. Almost everywhere else on the planet is better for that. I’m not kidding at all. You’ll be shocked by the stark differences in behavior of women in places where women are plentiful versus their behavior within artillery distance of San Jose and San Francisco.” Shewchuk’s comments were in response to a student who was asking for advice about finding work in the Bay Area and dating...

The swamp is back in full force we have a thousand-page Bill of $1.2 trillion filled with all manners of spending priorities that are at odds with the American people. This bill is over a thousand pages long, contains hundreds of pages of report language, 1,400 ear marks, and we've had about 24 hours to review it. That is not the way to do business, and the American people and American families are the ones left holding the bag. This is business as usual in the swamp, and here's the deal to my Republican colleagues: You will own every single...

If you pay for car insurance, you’ve probably noticed that rates are really high lately. You’re not alone. Last week’s Consumer Price Index (CPI) report — the government’s method for tracking what people are paying for goods and services and how that’s changing over time — noted that the price of car insurance was up more than 20 percent over the same time last year. What’s particularly painful is that rates were already rising: CPI reports have shown that, overall, car insurance rates are up more than 38 percent since January 2020. What’s going on? The big insurance companies have...
