...A recent open letter to the Writers Guild of America, written by a WGA member, is saying out loud what so many in the industry fear to say....... Chris Murphy (D-CT) announced on X on Friday morning, forecasting that the Senate will continue withholding the details despite barreling forward with a vote. “This weekend we will release the bill and vote next week,” he said. Republicans said the border is a priority and we should craft a bipartisan bill to help control the border. We did that. We have a deal. This weekend we will release...

When White House aides appear on MSNBC's "Morning Joe," they're often booked between 7 and 7:40 a.m. ET. That's so they'll reach one crucial and loyal viewer: President Biden. Why it matters: Biden's years-long love of MSNBC's staple morning show affects how the White House runs — and who Biden listens to. ,p> Zoom in: The president often calls co-host Joe Scarborough — a former Republican congressman who's now a harsh critic of Donald Trump — to get Scarborough's take on issues and sometimes vent about media coverage, according to people familiar with the relationship. ,p> During the day,...

To get Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban to end his block on a 50 billion euro ($54.3 billion) aid package for Ukraine, other European Union leaders teamed up ahead of a crunch summit to deliver a stark message: You're on your own this time. The veteran Hungarian leader, who maintains close ties to Moscow despite its invasion of Ukraine, has been adept in the past at finding enough support among his peers to drive a hard bargain in EU negotiations. But in the days and hours before Thursday's special summit in Brussels, leaders - individually and in groups - told...

Grace Powell was 12 or 13 when she discovered she could be a boy. Growing up in a relatively conservative community in Grand Rapids, Mich., Powell, like many teenagers, didn’t feel comfortable in her own skin. She was unpopular and frequently bullied. Puberty made everything worse. She suffered from depression and was in and out of therapy. “I felt so detached from my body, and the way it was developing felt hostile to me,” Powell told me. It was classic gender dysphoria, a feeling of discomfort with your sex. Reading about transgender people online, Powell believed that the reason she...

President Joe Biden gained a “reputation” during his first three years in the White House for reportedly using curse words when speaking about former President Donald Trump. Although Biden vowed to restore “decency” to the White House, he failed to make good on his promise, according to Politico’s Jonathan Lemire, Lauren Egan, Myah Ward, and Ben Johansen, who acknowledged Biden’s habit of cursing his political opponents: The president has described Trump to longtime friends and close aides as a “sick fuck” who delights in others’ misfortunes, according to three people who have heard the president use the profane description. Today’s jobs report was UGLY! How when the US unexpectedly added 353K “jobs” – the most since January 2023. Remember, Biden is President. And apparenty El Presidente of Latin America, Africa and Asia. Let me start with the official Biden jobs report versus the ADP jobs report from yesterday. BLS showed an amazing surge while ADP was sigalling a slowdown. Obviously, BLS is measuring employment differently (this is an election year after all). Like seasonal adjustments (always econometric voodoo). Here is a summary of the labor composition in the past year: all the jobs have been part-time jobs! Said otherwise,...

Daily Readings from the USCCB“Now, Master, you may let your servant go in peace, according to your word, for my eyes have seen your salvation, which you prepared in the sight of all the peoples: a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and glory for your people Israel.” Luke 2:29–32At the time of Jesus’ birth, there was a man named Simeon who had spent his whole life preparing for one significant moment. Like all faithful Jews at the time, Simeon was waiting for the coming Messiah. The Holy Spirit had revealed to him that he would indeed see the Messiah...

VIDEO Imagine putting tons of work into a book and just as it is released, the entire premise of the book is completely upended. Such was the case of Michael Isikoff and Daniel Klaidman who wrote a book, "Find Me The Votes," hyping Fulton County prosecutor Fani Willis as a brilliant and dynamic prosecutor only to have her personal corruption scandal exposed shortly before the release of the book on January 30, 2024. What to do? What to do? Well, what Isikoff and Klaidman are doing is going ahead with their planned book tour. However, despite being interviewed by friendly...

Job growth soared past expectations in January and wages rose faster than inflation, exhibiting more strength at the start of an election year in which the economy could be a huge factor. The U.S. economy added 353,000 jobs last month, according to the Labor Department, about double what economists were expecting in different forecasts. The unemployment rate held steady at 3.7 percent. Wages on nonfarm payrolls rose by 0.6 percent to $34.55, double the monthly pace of headline inflation in December. Annual wage growth ticked up to 4.47 percent, still considerably higher than the 3.5-percent growth that many economists think...
