The leaders of the U.S. Congress’s pro-life caucuses are leading bicameral opposition to the Biden Administration’s proposed rule targeting pregnancy centers for denial of federal funding to help women facing unplanned pregnancy. In October the Biden Administration had released a Proposed Rule Change for the TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) program, a federal assistance program that gives cash assistance to American families in need through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Numerous states give TANF funds to pregnancy help organizations because they help to meet some or all the TANF program’s goals. The Biden Administration’s Proposed...

A recently released report from the Vermont Department of Health indicates that the number of assisted suicide deaths in the state has more than quadrupled in the last two years. Per the report, there were 84 “reportable events” between July 1, 2021 and June 30, 2023, though the report later clarifies that 72 of those 85 were actually via assisted suicide, while the other deaths were caused by the underlying disease or another cause. Seventy-three percent (73%) of the people who chose assisted suicide did so because they had cancer. In contrast, the state’s previous report issued in January 2022...

Over just a few years, Houthi rebels in Yemen have amassed a remarkably diverse array of anti-ship weaponry, incorporating both cruise and ballistic missiles, which they have recently used to threaten shipping in the Red Sea. The critical role that Iran has played in this build-up raises broader questions about Tehran’s regional strategy. Yemen’s Ansarullah (Houthi) movement has been threatening shipping in the Red Sea with an increasingly diverse and capable range of anti-ship missiles. The attacks are putting pressure on commercial cargo vessels on a vital trade route and the developing naval coalition that is trying to ensure freedom...

As we start the new year, the Pennsylvania Department of Health has released their annual report on abortion and, once again, it shows more abortions, more complications from abortion, and more problems that Pennsylvania needs to correct. In 2022, there were 34,838 abortions reported in Pennsylvania, the highest number of annual abortions in the last ten years. Here are some takeaways from this latest state report: 1. Over 95 abortions every day in PA in 2022. Over the last five years, nearly 5,000 more babies have been aborted annually (2017: 30,011 | 2022: 34,838). Of note, the 2022 total is...

In a recent development, a federal appeals court has struck down the Biden administration’s attempt to impose strict climate regulations on dishwashers. The Department of Energy (DOE) aimed to repeal a Trump-era regulation that set standards for water use in dishwashers and clothes washing machines. However, the court ruled against the administration, citing concerns over the effectiveness of the proposed measures. The court’s decision stated that even if the DOE could consider both energy and water use in the definition of efficiency, the 2020 rules put forth by the Trump administration likely promoted greater efficiency in both categories than the...

Former President Trump on Wednesday suggested he knows who’s in the running as his vice presidential pick should he win the GOP nomination. Trump attended a Fox News town hall in Iowa, where anchor Martha MacCallum asked who would be in contention to join him on the Republican ticket. “Well I can’t tell you that really. I mean, I know who it’s going to be,” Trump said. Asked if he’d be willing to consider any of the people who ran against him in the primary, Trump indicated he would. “I’ve already started to like Christie better,” Trump quipped, a reference...

In her January 9th speech Gov. Reynolds also called for more assistance for new mothers. “As we continue to fight for the law in the courts, I want to thank you for putting Iowa firmly on the side of life. “By passing the heartbeat bill, we affirmed an essential truth: every Iowan counts. “To continue building a robust culture of life, we must also do everything in our power to ensure new moms and their families—especially those who are struggling—have what they need to make ends meet. “Today, Medicaid only covers postpartum care for two months after birth. I’m proposing...

Living in a culture where the act of killing innocent people prior to birth is protected by law definitely has consequences. But not all of them are of a kind you might think about for very long. Slate—the infamously pro-abortion website—delves into the facts about aborting innocent babies but never draws a line between abortion and other crimes that could well be the result of a societal escalation of disregard for the most innocent in our midst. For example, what about the case of the Perry High School shooting in Iowa? Ahmir Jolliff was one of the victims—and the only...

When Nellie Gray founded the March for Life in 1974, she thought one big demonstration against the unjust and tragic Roe v. Wade decision the previous year would be enough to halt legal abortion in the U.S. History has shown her optimism was unfounded, but the bad jurisprudence imposed on our nation by those seven justices was finally repealed in 2022. And yet the March continues, as it must. The current occupant of the White House says his first priority if re-elected would be to re-establish Roe. Our vice president is about to embark on a nationwide tour to talk...

Washington • These are the men that try The New York Times’ soul. With the disreputable Donald Trump challenging the disfavored President Joe Biden, the 2024 race has become the embodiment of Oscar Wilde’s witticism about fox hunting: “the unspeakable in pursuit of the inedible.” Bleeding young and nonwhite voters, the president finally heeded Democrats urging him to “get out there,” as Nancy Pelosi put it, and throw some haymakers at Trump. Biden flew to Pennsylvania on Friday to visit Valley Forge and make a pugnacious speech invoking an earlier moment when we were fighting against despotism and clinging to...

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) plans to roll out a free way to file federal taxes, much to the chagrin of tax preparation firm TurboTax. The IRS is launching a pilot plan, known as Direct File, that will offer a free way to submit taxes for U.S. workers. In December, the agency published its plans for an in-house filing system that taxpayers can use to submit their federal tax returns at no cost. Residents of 12 states that meet certain income criteria will be able to try the new service. To qualify, filers need to opt for the standard deduction...

The decorated event will be hosted by John Travolta and has been previously been dubbed by actor Morgan Freeman as the Oscars of aviation. It is understood that his work with setting up the Invictus Games Foundation will also...

Early in 2023, we were among many outlets to report on Jamie Reed, the transgender clinic employee who became a whistleblower over what was going on at St. Louis Children's Hospital Gender Clinic. The news was damning, and snidely dismissed by the media as a 'receptionist with an agenda.' And now lawsuits threaten the 'booming' gender-transition business, and yet another whistleblower has come forward. This time a doctor, and now the feds are going after him. A Doctor Blew The Whistle On His Hospital’s Transgender Clinic. Now The Feds Are Trying To Ruin His Life. https://t.co/Lo91U8lpxh — Daily Wire (@realDailyWire)...

As Congress debates President Joe Biden’s request of $64 billion for Ukraine, following the $113 billion that has already been sent, the eastern European nation is acting in violation of international human rights law, and a bilateral agreement with the United States, by desecrating a Jewish cemetery — and is refusing to respond to congressional inquiry about it.Ukraine has vacuumed up billions of U.S. tax dollars, and President Volodymyr Zelenskyy recently traveled to Washington to request more. But his country is undermining a 1994 agreement with the United States, and is violating the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights,...

The military aircraft that brought Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to Jamaica for a family vacation had a maintenance issue prior to his planned return to Canada this week, prompting a second plane to be flown to the Caribbean island ... The Conservatives are calling on the interim conflict of interest and ethics commissioner to launch a probe into Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s holiday in Jamaica. Opposition parties were already criticizing Trudeau earlier this week for spending his holiday at an oceanfront villa in Jamaica at no cost, as first reported by the National Post. Rooms go for about $9,300 per...

Jan. 8 (UPI) -- A wildlife photographer in Wales set up a camera in his tool shed to find out why objects were moving around and discovered a "tidy mouse" was cleaning up for him. Rodney Holbrook, 75, of Builth Wells, said the mystery began with some bird food he stored in the shed ending up in an old pair of shoes. Holbrook set up a camera in his shed and ended up recording footage of a mouse making nightly visits to round up small items that had been left out and place them into a small tray on the...

Over 260 Jewish Hollywood artists have sent the Academy Awards a letter claiming that they are being excluded from its diversity standards. The letter, which states the exclusion is 'discriminatory,' was created by the Jew in the City's Hollywood Bureau for Jewish Representation and was sent to the Academy yesterday. It has been signed by actors including David Schwimmer, Debra Messing, Ginnifer Goodwin, Mayim Bialik and Josh Gad; comedians, writers and producers. In 2020, notably after George Floyd's death, the Academy issued a set of 'standards' as part of its diversity initiative. These standards recognized commonly 'underrepresented' identities, including women,...

Sir Kier Starmer has come under fire for representing a notorious hate preacher in court. The leader of the opposition represented Abu Qatada at a hearing in 2008. While he was a leading KC (King's Counsel) barrister, Starmer was one of a number of human rights lawyers who represented Qatada in hearings. Sir Keir’s spokesperson has told The Telegraph that it was his job as a lawyer to represent people he doesn't agree with and has described the allegations as "desperate attacks from a Tory party that has given up on running the country." Qatada arrived in the UK on...
