A map, published by Christianophobie.fr, which marks with a red pin every spot where a church in France was attacked between just 2017-2018, looks like a war zone. Virtually the entire map of France is covered in red. Even Snopes, which presents itself as the final arbiter on what is real or fake news, admitted the accuracy of the map, while trying to minimize its findings…One wonders if [Snopes] would be so casual if a Christian vandalized a mosque, or broke into a mosque while screaming Christian slogans?

At least 246 XL bully dogs will be euthanised when a ban on the breed comes into force at the end of the year, Sky News can reveal. The dogs currently live in rescue centres run by the RSPCA, Blue Cross, Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, Dogs Trust and Mayhew, among others. Under the ban, which comes into force in two phases, XL bullies cannot be lawfully rehomed or sold after 31 December. It follows a spate of recent attacks and deaths involving the breed.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) wants to install Intelligent Speed Assistance (ISA) in all cars. NTSB chair Jennifer Homendy emphasized that "human error is the chief cause of almost all traffic crashes. The most common error is excessive speed. The weak link in our effort to eliminate this error is expecting drivers to heed posted speed limits. ISA would bypass this weak link." "With ISA the vehicle's Global Positioning System (GPS) would coordinate with the posted speed limits," she explained. "Ideally, the ISA would absolutely control the vehicle's speed. Should this approach be deemed too intrusive, the ISA could...

Three debates for next year’s presidential general election are set to be held in college towns in Texas, Virginia and Utah between Sept. 16 and Oct. 9 — though it remains to be seen whether either party’s candidate will actually participate. The nonpartisan Commission on Presidential Debates announced Monday that presidential candidates will first be scheduled to meet Sept. 16 at Texas State University in San Marcos, south of Austin. The vice presidential debate is scheduled nine days later at Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania. Presidential debates planned for Virginia State University in Petersburg on Oct. 1, and the University...

CHICAGO — Prosecutors have charged a Chicago man with shooting another man during an argument while on bail for a pending Class X felony gun case. Johnathan Ivy, 49, is the 26th person accused of shooting, killing, or trying to shoot or kill someone in Chicago this year while awaiting trial for a felony. The cases involve at least 41 victims, 13 of whom died. • The Catholic Origins of Thanksgiving

Did you know that Thanksgiving is a Catholic holiday? True, it’s not on the Church calendar. And it is celebrated only in America, whereas Church holidays are universal. (snip) But any time a nation does anything in unison that involves families getting together and counting their blessings, it is a good thing. “Thanks,” says G.K. Chesterton, “is the highest form of thought.” And he mentions the fact that the worst moment for an atheist is when he is thankful and suddenly realizes he has no one to thank. (snip) What most people believe is a variation on what I was...

The holidays are a time of joy and merriment. They’re also a time to be in our feels, and sometimes that’s really, really depressing. We’re not going to get all sappy on you, but even car folks shed a tear from time to time. Usually it’s from banging our fingers against the inner wall of a steel fender, sometimes it’s from selling off that project you swore you’d never sell, and every so often it’s because of a commercial. You know, a real tear-jerker. Chevrolet has chopped the proverbial onions right in front of us a number of times now, and...

@FischerKing64 White men should not sign up for police departments. They should opt out just like they’re doing with the military. They have no upside. And towns should draw down their police forces, and quietly hire private security firms, off the books if possible, where those white guys disposed towards police work should go for employment.

Former President Donald Trump has announced plans to visit with Javier Milei, the newly elected president of Argentina who has been unofficially dubbed “South America’s Trump.” The office for Milei said on Thursday that he had spoken with President Trump about travel arrangements for the near future, according to the Associated Press. Although the spokesperson did not give a date when the two would meet in Buenos Aires, it may not be long after the libertarian leader is sworn in on December 10th. “The president-elect received a call last night from the former president of the United States, Donald Trump,...

For all its supposed modernization, Moscow's military doctrine has retained the historical Russian focus on artillery. Russian gunners proved more numerous and well-supplied than their Ukrainian enemies in the early stages of the conflict. But as Kyiv's arsenal has been bolstered by NATO systems, Russia's "god of war" has been somewhat muted... Kyiv's claimed tally of Russian equipment losses demonstrates the enthusiasm with which Ukrainian artillery and drone teams have hunted Russian big guns, as well as multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) that perform a similar function at shorter ranges. From September to November 2023, Ukraine claimed to have destroyed...

Tom Cruise reportedly stepped in to back his agent, one of the top Hollywood representatives, after her pro-Palestine social media posts sparked an industry-wide controversy. Maha Dakhil, 48, was among the most important talent managers at reputed firm Creative Artists Agency (CAA) until last month, when she faced intense criticism for describing Israel’s war against Hamas as “genocide” on Instagram. “What’s more heartbreaking than witnessing genocide? Witnessing the denial that genocide is happening,” she reportedly captioned one of her posts. She apparently also reshared a statement, first posted by the Free Palestine account, which read: “You’re currently learning who supports...

BENICIA, Calif. - A person allegedly driving in a stolen car in the early hours after the Thanksgiving holiday was caught in a creative attempt at faking a license plate, according to a post from the Benicia Police Department. Around 1 a.m. on Friday, an officer patrolling East 2nd Street saw a silver Kia with a "beautifully handwritten" license plate. Police say they checked the vehicle out and determined that it was stolen out of Alameda.
