A map, published by Christianophobie.fr, which marks with a red pin every spot where a church in France was attacked between just 2017-2018, looks like a war zone. Virtually the entire map of France is covered in red. Even Snopes, which presents itself as the final arbiter on what is real or fake news, admitted the accuracy of the map, while trying to minimize its findings…One wonders if [Snopes] would be so casual if a Christian vandalized a mosque, or broke into a mosque while screaming Christian slogans?

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) wants to install Intelligent Speed Assistance (ISA) in all cars. NTSB chair Jennifer Homendy emphasized that "human error is the chief cause of almost all traffic crashes. The most common error is excessive speed. The weak link in our effort to eliminate this error is expecting drivers to heed posted speed limits. ISA would bypass this weak link." "With ISA the vehicle's Global Positioning System (GPS) would coordinate with the posted speed limits," she explained. "Ideally, the ISA would absolutely control the vehicle's speed. Should this approach be deemed too intrusive, the ISA could...

Did you know that Thanksgiving is a Catholic holiday? True, it’s not on the Church calendar. And it is celebrated only in America, whereas Church holidays are universal. (snip) But any time a nation does anything in unison that involves families getting together and counting their blessings, it is a good thing. “Thanks,” says G.K. Chesterton, “is the highest form of thought.” And he mentions the fact that the worst moment for an atheist is when he is thankful and suddenly realizes he has no one to thank. (snip) What most people believe is a variation on what I was...

The holidays are a time of joy and merriment. They’re also a time to be in our feels, and sometimes that’s really, really depressing. We’re not going to get all sappy on you, but even car folks shed a tear from time to time. Usually it’s from banging our fingers against the inner wall of a steel fender, sometimes it’s from selling off that project you swore you’d never sell, and every so often it’s because of a commercial. You know, a real tear-jerker. Chevrolet has chopped the proverbial onions right in front of us a number of times now, and...

@FischerKing64 White men should not sign up for police departments. They should opt out just like they’re doing with the military. They have no upside. And towns should draw down their police forces, and quietly hire private security firms, off the books if possible, where those white guys disposed towards police work should go for employment.

For all its supposed modernization, Moscow's military doctrine has retained the historical Russian focus on artillery. Russian gunners proved more numerous and well-supplied than their Ukrainian enemies in the early stages of the conflict. But as Kyiv's arsenal has been bolstered by NATO systems, Russia's "god of war" has been somewhat muted... Kyiv's claimed tally of Russian equipment losses demonstrates the enthusiasm with which Ukrainian artillery and drone teams have hunted Russian big guns, as well as multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) that perform a similar function at shorter ranges. From September to November 2023, Ukraine claimed to have destroyed...
