California Atty. Gen. Rob Bonta filed a lawsuit Monday against the Chino school district, ordering an end to a policy that requires notifying parents if their children change their gender identity, alleging it is discriminatory and violates civil rights and privacy laws. The “parental notification” policy, which has been proposed by a handful of conservative-leaning districts in California, puts transgender and gender nonconforming students in “danger of imminent, irreparable harm” by potentially forcibly “outing” them at home before they’re ready, according to the lawsuit. “They are in real fear that the district’s policy will force them to make a choice:...

In an interview this week, Viktor Shokin, the Ukraine prosecutor who was investigating Burisma--the firm that employed Hunter Biden--asked "why isn't the fact that Joe Biden bragged he threatened to withhold $1 billion in US aid to Ukraine unless I was fired evidence of his corruption? Is that not paying a bribe for my dismissal?" Presidential Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre pointed out that "President Biden was very clear that his threat to withhold the billion dollars in aid had the full backing of President Obama. It was Friday night in the fall of 1981 at Milton Frank Stadium in Huntsville, Ala. Grissom High School was playing, and I was standing near Coach Stiles on the sidelines. The game was not going our way when Coach suddenly waved his arms in the air and yelled, “Herschel Walker, where are you?!” It was one of those funny/not funny moments. Herschel was a sight to behold in college football back then and won the Heisman trophy the next year. Coach was invoking the name of the greatest running back of the day as a means of wishing he...

"I want to remind these people that backwardism is useless, and it is necessary to understand that there is a correct evolution in the understanding of questions of faith and morals."

The general Trumpworld consensus around last Wednesday night’s GOP primary debate, mainly as laid out by Florida Rep. Byron Donalds during Fox News post-debate analysis, seems to be that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis had a solid enough performance but failed to dominate and thus didn’t move the needle in any meaningful way. It’s a ridiculously unfair cope, of course. In a field of eight, it’s tough to hit a home run, especially when the other candidates aren’t directly targeting you and giving you a chance to rebut anything. Which is interesting in and of itself. Of the people on that...
